I remember when the nu skool breaks era kicked off here in the U.K. in the late 90’s & listening to Adam freeland & Blim and many others, considered the golden age of breakbeat. This is a treat listening to this, I felt like the breakbeat era kind of died down round about 2005 & on, love breakbeat to this very day & only just found breakbeat that I actually like about a year and a half ago on soundcloud & that is joe wink on broken essence, monthly 2 hour mix with a different guest in the second hour, this is probably the best breaks show I’ve found of late. This brings back so many memories, listening to Adam freeland the breakbeat show every Friday night on the then good kiss 100 radio station. I would love to see Adam freeland & many of the original artists kick off a whole new nu skool breaks scene here in the U.K. I’m sure some of the original artists would be onboard and bring back breakbeat in a big way. I’ve heard a few of the modern breaks artists playing progressive breakbeat but the sound isn’t as good in my opinion apart from a few DJ’s such as joe wink etc, dope mix.
still finding new tunes in the mixes, many thanks for upoading some absolutely belting tracks, a nice reference for this recent resurgence of allthings drum bass and breaks. Just a shame the new kids have zero idea about timing, mixing, EQ and vibing off the crowd. Who remembers Chew The Fat at Mass..?? Top night!! Paul Arnold.... a lovely lovely guy. keep on keeping on, one love y'all!
