HOLY SH*T… this is the best video I have seen about building a Honda actually the using the right parts… coming from a OG 43 year old ricer who made the scene what it is today
Great job! Having just done the same overhaul to my car, I completely appreciate how much time and effort you put into this job. Your work is clean and meticulous, befitting of a professional. That is so awesome, my first track experience was also in a 991 gt3 rs and ever since then I’ve wanted to drive every chance I get and I am also building an eg hatch to see how far I can push that little chassis and to get better as a driver
Great post very informative , Q&A in feed 18:27 which is the model of integra power rack & pinion being used in build? I have a 95 4 door ex build and not sure which rack pinion I should look for. Thanks again for your support love your build.
Hello best of health to you and family. Q&A I have eg 4 dr. doing suspension upgrade, my question is for daily and weekend track on bushings should I go all spherical or rubber bushings. Should I do both in some areas. Not sure on the spherical that's why need your feedback. I have EX model. Thanks again for your support.
Hey! Thank you and hope everything is well with you too. That’s a good question! If the car is still being driven on roads then I wouldn’t go full spherical. What you can do is a hybrid like you stated. The most important bushings you want as a spherical is going to be the front compliance and main rear trailing arm.
Hey! Man loved seeing all this new gear get installed. Question for you. Why did you choose Timken wheel bearings? I need to replace mine but don't want to buy the expensive OEM ones. Would love your feedback on these Timken ones. Thanks so much!
Timken has been proven to be a good option for track cars. US made (most of the time, they have several plants), one of the top bearing manufactures in the world since WW1, and more cost effective than OEM units. I am swapping out these exact bearings in the video this month, after two seasons of track time. Not because they are failing, but just as a precaution. I’ve yet to have any issues with them!
First of all, so much time and money into these proper track ready suspension parts! How long do these spherical bushings/bearings last? I actually have some in my S2000 for both front and rear sway bar links and I had mine bind once. So I was just curious of your experience on them?
Yes, a lot of money 😭😫 lol I suppose it really depends on the quality of the bearings. My rear toe arm bearings (PCI) went out after a season of tracking, roughly 10-12 track days. My front UCA bearings got real sloppy after one season as well. However this time I upgraded the front UCA bearings to Kingpin Machine replacement bearings.
Do you have a list anywhere of all the components needed for this suspension setup, also besides the steering rack and pinion and front knuckles what other integra parts are you using?
If i had a garage I would do all the suspension and mechanical work on my civic 93 also but I have to do that under the bridge and in outside conditions
Dammm.. this is my 2nd bag of pop corn lol hahhaaaa.. I cant get enough good info, str8 simple and direct. My little civic needs some love now. :D with this suspension set up strictly for the track circuit. This car can't go to regular streets because the roads conditions are not smooth like the tracks, most street roads bumps, pot holes, uneven roads, lots of wear, and the suspension spherical designs won't last for a daily drive out on the streets but for track yes it will cus track roads gets maintenance constantly.. . Have this civic in this video drive down here in Miami Florida... man horrible roads, painful if you are lower than 4inch.. driving around. In here more guys on bags dropping for parking and raising for driving around, there is a reason :D .. .
Hey man, recently picked an EG civic for myself and looking to make it into a track weapon. Would you by chance have a complete list of parts you used in this video? Specifically suspension and under body braces of that sort.
love the video been watching at least once a week and going the same route for my EG build, but what size front Hubs did you use from insane shafts? I see they have a 240mm and 262mm and not sure if I will run into issues using the 262mm for my EH3? Again awesome video it's been helping alot!
Thanks for watching! Yes! I would run a strut bar, I just haven’t thought of what I want to get yet. Maybe Circuit hero in the future? And yes, the progress rear sway bar is 22mm.
I have a 92eg and have all the knuckles off my 94dc2 is it worth it to swap the fronts.i didn't keep the k members(don't know if that was needed) I know the brakes are like 2 or 3mm larger I just didn't know if I should go through all the work swapping. I was already planning on doing the rears
If you’re already doing the rears and you have the fronts in your possession, then I’d just go ahead and do it. It’ll just be easier to keep track of what you have, especially when you have to do maintenance (replace wheel bearings, etc). Rather than having a mismatch of parts from front to rear.
@@bvspeed that's a good idea never thought about the pain that I could cause trying to remember everything. Thanks . I just dug this car out from the back of my barn after it's been sitting for 15 years. Not only is there about a inch of dust everywhere, I forgot what I have and what I don't have! My next issue is a tune after it starts (hasn't run in 17 years) it's a b18 turbo with a old-school lovefab sidewinder
Very responsive compared to a rubber/poly since you don’t have to worry about deflection. You maintain better suspension geometry because everything stays as it should. They’re definitely not recommended for street use since they’re louder/clunkier than rubber/poly and really have no form of protection from the elements since the joint isn’t protected by a boot of any sort. Highly recommended for the track, but not for the street.
What’s up! Great video dude so down to earth and the quality of work is UNREAL. I lm looking to do this to my EK. How much did the suspension work end up costing excluding the coils?
Hey! Thank you for the kind words! Honestly, I'm not too sure off the top of my head. If I were to guess it'd probably be in the realm of $3k? Coilovers were about an additional $1400.
If the seals are still in the power steering rack, this is the preferred method because it'll keep the rack lubed and the reservoir will bleed the high fluid pressures to prevent the seals from blowing out.
Ok so question sorry for my noobness but I just picked up an eg hatch myself and I plan to build and use it for track. My car came with no ps but my question why did you swap out the rack for the integra and redid and ran the brake lines to the rear? Brand of that part?
@@bvspeed OH LOL makes sense and one more excuse me for my noobness but the rear brake setup you did ep3 brake brackets? and which si caliper? or does a full ep3 rear brake setup calipers, pads and rotors bolt on up? would like part number or detailed if possible so that i can run this setup on my project also. tia!
I'm just curious on your thought process behind selecting the brands you did, not that I think they are wrong just that I'm currently in the stage of researching parts before making a purchase to basically do exactly what you did here but to my sedan.
Good question! With so many options out there it can be tough deciding what to go with. I typically look at what most other people are using and how successful they’ve been with the parts. Since it’s a track car, I look to all of the guys that have built their cars for the same reason or even more extreme and get feedback off of them. Guys like Eric Kutil who is always on podiums run a lot of this stuff. Same with a bunch of other builds in the wheel to wheel and time attack world. These parts have been tried and tested.
