There are tulips all over my neighborhood at the moment. Good to see the baby trees getting bigger too though. The woods are greening up! 🎂🌳 Nice reclamation! Looks great! I have a few repairs to tackle... including zippers. Thanks for the motivation!
My favourite plant is purple toadflax, a vertical thin leaved, "invasive weed", native to UK. It has lots of small purple flowers and almost every time I look at it there are bees on it. I encourage it everywhere I can.
To nobody's surprise, I completely forgot about the pocket holes after I edited this, hahaha so no, not yet! I actually still haven't decided how to go about it since they're mesh.
@@holycrappitsjo Could you just reinforce them with another layer of mesh (mesh that has finer/smaller holes)? If you are worried about tiny things falling through, I mean. I've done that with mesh pockets. It'd probably work. though it will be finicky AF! Pockets are such a pain - sewing or repairing them I mean.
OF COURSE they do! dang, I feel like deep down I knew this about their stuff, I just don't own anything else other than some flannels I've stolen from loved ones over the years, lol
No. There zipper lengths on coats are all over the place. You got lucky. 🎉 In general, as long as it's too long, a separating zipper can be shortened from the top - as you noted. I've actually never used a machine when reinstalling a coat zipper. I've roughly basted then hand backsitched them in. The whole thing ends up taking forever, but that's what long form historical analyses on yt and podcasts are for.
It was only while reading the comments just now that I learned LL bean has a lifetime zipper guarantee and I could've had them replace it for free. oops! It was a learning process for all involved lol

As always, if you need any sewing help, I know a guy! (it's me, I'm the guy)

Just out of curiosity: did you also fix the holes in the pockets?
