Beautiful ... vintage and stylish! I agree with you, Pedro Pohlmann, a touch of sleek and timeless elegance of Chanel ! I also find something... this so feminine look of the 80’s at the turn of a few cuts and rhinestones !
Its not about replacement, but about development in time, and about having creative fun, keep it going so creativity never ends. Karl would agree with me on that :)
Hen left an impossible legacy. I like a lot of the pieces individually, but I don't really get a smile on my face like I did with Karl. I wish he was still here.
The best part of the show was Jessie Ware's song in the finale! Miss Karl's touches! Chanel would never be the same without him, just the same as Dior without Galliano.
Way too confusing, can barely see the clothes. The camera is either to far or too close. And we never get to see the side and back. Too rapid changes to be able to focus on one ensemble. Do we really need to see an aerial of the runway with the models walking around like ants? Can we just see the clothes instead?
Fa sh ion is fast moving, the theme for this one is clearly Hollywood,.seen from the take on the Hollywood signs. It shows the transfer of fashion in Hollywood from big and chunky dresses in the 70s to graphic tees and much more modern stuff. The theme was well represented by the photography and I think you need glasses if you weren't able to focus on an individual set. Just remember, ever show- set - design - ensemble has personality, and it was very well shown.
Aryan Malhotra I’ll disagree I’m afraid. Whatever the "theme" I expect fluidity and time to see the clothes in detail. It was too scattered. Chanel always had grandiose themes, it always went big - more than any other brand. But it was still cohesive and fluid. This one was not. It jumped from one model to the next way too fast, constant aerials, it was all over the place and difficult to keep track. Whatever the theme, it was lost and we did not get to see the clothes in detail. It seems the "star" of the show was the set, not the clothes. My favourite show was the 2017/2018 cruise. Have a look to see the difference on the amount of time you get to enjoy the details of each garment.
So clear! I could SEE the clothes! The camera was right where it needed to be. I saw the side AND the back. I could focus on each ensemble. The aerial view of the runway with the models walking around like ants was MAGNIFICNET! I saw the clothes!

Why waste money on the sets. Unless one is going to really buy the displayed items, even if its not grand or unfinished, chanel only cares about those customers who really preorders these items. Rather they cut back on these airy fairy sets in 2020 n focus on coming up with clothes that wow n dazzle, not clothes that look like self portrait inspired. There are some things i like, the hair bands, might buy if the price is not too expensive.
(Opinion) What Chanel needs is a complete reimagining of the brand to bring into this new decade/era of fashion. What makes Karl’s work with the brand so iconic is the fact that he dared to change what everyone thought Chanel to be, as Coco did with the view of modern women’s fashion. I feel that this collection is a revisioning of Karl’s vision of Chanel, but falls a little bit short because his vision was one of a kind. I want to see what Virginie sees the House of Chanel becoming. I am excited to see where Virginie continues to take the brand as she churns out more collections! I’m sure she will find her footing.
Innovative, balanced, nicely wild--but you could still wear any of these pieces (even mix-and-match) to a casual spaghetti dinner--with a mask when not eating, of course! It's refreshing to see the more feminine, slightly nostalgic look, too. Love you, Chanel!
Nothing to compare spring-summer 19-20, which was accessible yet artistic. Lake of creativity we are used to see from Chanel starting from stage design to clothing. There are still some items that are better than a lot of other fashion shows this season, but I have to say I was a bit disappointed. Also neon items look very confusing like if created for some nowdays trends and don't fit the whole concept.. I mean, I actually love neon but weve come here to watch CHANEL. If you adopt trends do it in Chanel way.
Like literally all the models were all over the place!!! Very annoying. Also the set was boring,, get someone else to pick what the set looks like instead of Virginie (if she’s the one choosing).
@@joshuavasquez6180 Absolutely everywhere. Can see this because on second viewing noticed that there are some sets of clothes that the camera could not catch, the walking directions are also not flowing with each other.
I'm a big fan of Virginie and I believe in her immensely, but this has gone far too far in the way of 'street' to the point of Kardashian and nearing the garish, vulgar displays happening now at Balmain. It may be, as perspective coming from Paris rather than from New York, in which the Parisian perspective is a little naive about that genre. But I am hopeful for a course-correction and more nuance next time around. One last note, considering how many hundreds of hours of work goes into each piece by the world's most expert hands, it was a bit concerning to see feathers falling of garments on the runway. How is that actually possible, and does it mean new cut-backs in-house?
I know some people have issues with the big letters "CHANEL" in the back. But personally I really like them! I feel like it's kind of like a highway billboard, and the runway itself is like a highway! Models are like cars walking around. Also, I noticed they used some plus-sized (normal size in the real world, not model fairy world) models too, I love seeing this. I can't afford these clothes but I feel like this is a good show.
@@lisaschumph7000 huh?? You mean Zara and H&M are knock off version. Chanel is a high end brand the clothes are meant to be a simple wearable chic look nothing that’s way to bizarre
I think the collection is awesome, I love everything about it from the styling to the detail of the clothing. There is so much reference from Karl doing Chanel in the 80s which is exactly what Virginie was going for next season. I’m sorry but if you’re comparing her creative work to H&M or ASOS then you obviously don’t know what Chanel stands for besides the elaborate and dramatic shows. These clothes will sell and the fast fashion industry will so copy. So please don’t hate on what Virginie is doing for Chanel. She has been working with Karl for Chanel way before you were born.
Yes, only this time Chanel copied fast fashion. Chanel used to set the trends and now they are watering down their collections to fit the trends, hence why people are upset. Virginie worked under Karl for many years, yes. People gave her many seasons to find her footing and tried not to be too harsh, as she had very big shoes to fill. Not only has she not performed well at this point, but she has failed to establish a consistent creative vision for her Chanel and the people watching are confused. She is not Karl, and I personally don’t want her to be. But I don’t know what the heck this was. Also, if her creative work is triggering comparisons to garments already being produced by fast fashion brands, perhaps it isn’t all that creative.
Cecilia Thorne I don’t think Chanel copied fast fashion yet you forgot that fast fashion WILL still copy these styles for next season. I’m not sure what you don’t see in Virginie designs but I do see Chanel! But you do realize this is just ready to wear. At this point what do you expect to see that will trend next season. I think her plan is to sell the garments during this time. It’s a whole look we will all be inspired by... as what Coco Chanel said “fashion fades, only style remain the same”
Ian Ramos Very true. I just don’t get excited by her work personally. It just always seems like something is missing and I feel that each show is getting to be more and more disappointing, even when I have zero expectations. Selling clothes is important but I feel it is a cop out at this point and many designers are delivering borderline mediocrity in the name of sales. You are right that fast fashion will still copy, but then again they copy everything whether it is brilliant or not. I can appreciate a good clean collection, but there are too many ways to make a clean collection interesting and tasteful for this to be the result. I am personally just bored. It is all just “meh”. I want more from her.
@@ceciliathorne6846 You're confused? I am not. You have ONLY your opinion. And I have mine. I find Virginie's vision and aesthetic is refreshing, modern, clean and new! I won't fault you for your opinion, if you don't fault anyone else's.
erik3579 Well I think my phrasing was explicitly indicative of me expressing MY opinion, aside from when I said “people are confused”, “people” not “everyone”, which was a reflection of the comment section under this video. Sorry if expressing MY opinion and generalizing the comments regarding the video in question rubbed you the wrong way..
This is the first Chanel collection that I find extremely disappointing and with zero flair. We knew that the maison without Karl will no longer be the same, but this collection is just on a very low level... it has nothing of what Chanel is about. This Reminds me of some mainstream collection at any mall... so sad!
I do agree with you, no extravagance, no wow factor, but definately chanel. The house of chanel showed a suble side, but it was still a part of chanel so we must appreciate it
This is yet another Chanel collection that I find extremely beautiful with infinite flair. We knew that the maison without Karl will no longer be the same, but this collection is just on a very high level... it has everything to do with what Chanel is about. This reminds me of some crazy-popular collection at a mall... so happy!
what are y'all on? this is the new chanel. the more modern and refreshing chanel! rather than have the same cycle of clothes u know you'll see on each runway like it was before.
once again it’s obvious you listened to the feedback from previous shows. chanel stays killin it. the small, intricate details in this collection drew me in! ❤️
I LOVE CHANEL
Ismael Gouriguer yeah I’ll agree. With Karl you could always tell the clothes were "Chanel" it just had a certain style that was classy, elegant and timeless, even his more crazy designs. These look forgettable, don’t like the lack of tailoring, the proportions seem all wrong. There is no identity, no charm.. If I saw this in the streets I wouldn’t know if it is Chanel or high street..
A much needed breath of fresh air that only Chanel could deliver ! OK, some pieces were not that good, but on the whole, it's a lot better than most of the crap put out this season
The walking seemed traffic but already well prepared, superb music, make up, hairstyles, and very variety of beautiful dress and ready to wear. This collection is amazing and still classic. I really enjoy that
Now all is based on individuality, there are beautiful pieces, the Chanel codes are there but, something was missing, that ridiculous factor and fun pop chic
Collections or outfits from this brand are for everyone or everybody...... It's just one has to know what kind of collection or outfit need to be worn at the right times of the day or year..... These collections are something like where it doesn't seem suites in particular atmosphere or locations... But it perfectly suites.... That's what makes something special abt these collections from this brand....
Thanks... a girl i dont really like studies „fashion journalism“ at my campus... her style is the definiton of a basic bitch... if she goes to VOGUE after her bachelor... i would jump from a cliff... We need more Eleganz in 2020...
demand her to set the trends “Chanel not following trends but set the trends” , yet keep comparing her with Karl, keep asking her to show her works the same with Karl. cant we just appreciate her works her own style of works? People always comment and critcs more when in fact they might not even capable in doing the same works. When Karl was still alive, it doesnt look like everyone is appreciating him all the time , only when he is gone people keep missing him. Karl has his own way same goes with Virginie.
We understand that Virginie is her own designer, her own talent, her own creativity, her own perspective... she really is a genius! She also has a lot of experience doing costume design, styling, I mean she was Karl’s Shadow for decades! Almost since the very beginning of him taking over CHANEL... but none the less, the fact of the matter is, her collections have been consistently disappointing... everything looks like it belongs to a PRE-COLLECTION... this is not up to par for a ready to wear collection, and the haute couture has been just as sad...
This is fact. People were also shtting on Karl for one reason or another, but gradually they acquired the rosier view as succession was on the horizon or they got used to not liking all of the things he put out.
I was watching 80s and 90s chanel catwalks and I noticed that the runways were so full, everyone almost bumped into each other. Now everything is so distant. Then I remembered in what times were living in
I can’t wait when they edit this. Since the models did their own thing and they all walked different ways they couldn’t get all the looks on video. I was surprised when they said they had 75 looks when I counted like 30 looks.
I often wonder if the designs are the real problem at Chanel, or the way how it's actually presented. This runway lineup and movement was confusing and I really couldn't read what they were trying to do. I am going to say that Virginie is still emulating what Karl would do and that needs to stop, because I'd love to see something that's truly authentic of her and her alone. Some of the dresses looked like they came out of Free People (not to bash anyone here, but this is Chanel not an Australian brand?) it really lacks the effortless chic. And yes, Virginie did much better two seasons ago, but I also wonder if there is a power grab situation building up at this brand? Often the investors seem to be leaning towards the trend of selling specific things so there's no room for the creative and innovative side, they just concentrate on hitting those numbers and getting their clients to invest in accessories, bags, etc so the clothes almost become irrelevant. I may be completely wrong here but Virginie's leadership at Chanel hasn't truly been seen so it does beg the question: is it's time for a rethink and get someone with the chops to sell every item on the runway and be unique all at once? The soundtrack was delightful, the setting was a bit washed out, it didn't quite match the preview campaign so beautifully captured by Inez and Vinood. What a grey day this has been overall...
Very lacklustre. It is like they watched Ryan Murphy's Hollywood and strove for the glamour, but watered it down for sales. Disappointing. Someone needs to resurrect Karl. I did like the music though.
Wow , it was so enjoyable!!!In my view, I think it was better than the Dior Show before several days. It lasted for its style:elegant、confidential、modern、simple、feminism and romantic!Love Chanel.
What Beautiful Outfits! Those asymmetrical flowy skirts! Channel really pays attention to all the little details! But; where can a beautiful outfit be worn these days with this horrific pandemic??? I miss going out for a nice dinner, dancing at the clubs, Rock concerts, kareoke, and etc. etc. Fantastic show!

Congratulations! It’s simple and grand
C’est superbe. J’adore les robes. Pour certaines vestes, un peu trop d’épaules . Mais dans l’ensemble, j’aime beaucoup. Bravo.
MAGNIFIQUE CRÉATION !!! 👍👏👏👏❤️
I love the music
A lot of it looks as if it was was done for H&M, and that's not a good thing !
My thought exactly, I love Chanel, this is A knock off version... Zara/H&M
Oh! Sorry. This collection was done for Chanel.
I was thinking the same. I kept thinking it looks like J. Crew 😩☹️
@@lisaschumph7000 huh?? You mean Zara and H&M are knock off version. Chanel is a high end brand the clothes are meant to be a simple wearable chic look nothing that’s way to bizarre
Love every bit of spring and summer chanel 2021 capsule omg
Refined, Feminine and elegance!
This reminds me of some crazy-popular collection at a mall... so happy!
I think it's time for Chanel empire to change a new designer... Maybe Elie Saab?
There is real love for women in these designs. So refreshing.
First time in a while I LOVED everything. This was precious.
I’m spending the day looking at fashion because I’m ready to be involved!👗📚
I absolutely love this collection!!!
lovely ✨⭐️💕
what are y'all on? this is the new chanel. the more modern and refreshing chanel! rather than have the same cycle of clothes u know you'll see on each runway like it was before.
Yes! The ***NEW*** Chanel!!! Move into the future, folks! Virginie is A-mazing, and she ain't goin' anywhere! *****5 STARS*****
this collection express who I Am.. like WOW!!!!!!!
once again it’s obvious you listened to the feedback from previous shows. chanel stays killin it. the small, intricate details in this collection drew me in! ❤️
Per fortuna esiste CHANEL…

“Karl, hai lasciato la maison in ottime mani: bravissima Virginie.”
I LOVE CHANEL
Since Karl passed away, this is not the same, lack of creativity and freshness
Ismael Gouriguer yeah I’ll agree. With Karl you could always tell the clothes were "Chanel" it just had a certain style that was classy, elegant and timeless, even his more crazy designs. These look forgettable, don’t like the lack of tailoring, the proportions seem all wrong. There is no identity, no charm.. If I saw this in the streets I wouldn’t know if it is Chanel or high street..
Horrible casting and set design, too...
Since Karl passed away, this is not the same, there is creativity and freshness!
Agree, I haven't bought any Chanel items since he died....
It's READY-TO
-WEAR collection which is the wearable more commercial type of clothing. NOT HAUTE COUTURE.
Actually loved this collection💖 Wearable by all not just models.
A much needed breath of fresh air that only Chanel could deliver ! OK, some pieces were not that good, but on the whole, it's a lot better than most of the crap put out this season
The best model Mica Argañaraz👏👏👏👏
Virginie Viards work is extraordinary!! This collection is beautiful!
Maravilloso. Ya extrañaba ver lo imponente que puede ser una colección de Chanel; Va despertando la Virginie que precisa Chanel.
Felicitations, Grande Collection!
Seems like they go street like Gucci and LV. Please don’t do that.
Thanks... a girl i dont really like studies „fashion journalism“ at my campus... her style is the definiton of a basic bitch... if she goes to VOGUE after her bachelor... i would jump from a cliff...
We need more Eleganz in 2020...
@SKP the background and where they are walking😳
C'est la quintessence de Chanel. Très beau
demand her to set the trends “Chanel not following trends but set the trends” , yet keep comparing her with Karl, keep asking her to show her works the same with Karl. cant we just appreciate her works her own style of works? People always comment and critcs more when in fact they might not even capable in doing the same works.
When Karl was still alive, it doesnt look like everyone is appreciating him all the time , only when he is gone people keep missing him. Karl has his own way same goes with Virginie.
EXACTLY!
Fantastic as usual... I love you chanel👏♥️
Jessie‘s Spotlight is the best part!!!!!
Absolutely yes
Hermosa colección !!! Innovadora y clásica a la vez. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I was watching 80s and 90s chanel catwalks and I noticed that the runways were so full, everyone almost bumped into each other. Now everything is so distant. Then I remembered in what times were living in
the white & black collection is gorgeous
I can’t wait when they edit this.
Since the models did their own thing and they all walked different ways they couldn’t get all the looks on video. I was surprised when they said they had 75 looks when I counted like 30 looks.
Also if I see one more black chiffon cape I’m going to explode. 🥴
@@luisparedes7105 70% better than the morguewear/devilwear from Fall collection.
This collection is fresh, right and good. Thanks God.
What a grey day this has been overall...
totally agree
The setting didn't match the preview campaign I thought the same
How did you know these truths?
Adoro Chanel!!!!❤️
Very lacklustre. It is like they watched Ryan Murphy's Hollywood and strove for the glamour, but watered it down for sales. Disappointing. Someone needs to resurrect Karl. I did like the music though.
Came directly for the soundtrack! 💙
Just here to support my girl ABRA on the sound!!!
This collection make me feel flashy♥Thank u Chanel
On my lunch break. Knew it would delay but oh well 💋💕 anything for Chanel 💅🏻
Sound track is great. I love some of the jackets. Doing new thins on the traditional themes. Bravo Virginie
what a mess! a collection without any direction...
What a delight! A collection with real direction...
I felt the same. The collection didn’t give me an excitement like last few collection😕
This is so futuristic and classy, I love it all..
🖤
Wow , it was so enjoyable!!!In my view, I think it was better than the Dior Show before several days. It lasted for its style:elegant、confidential、modern、simple、feminism and romantic!Love Chanel.
NOPE.
YOU'RE WRONG.
IT WAS AWFUL.
I love virginie viard's lack of creativity, go girl give us the same collection twenty times!
Beautiful,on point and "classic"
Chanel makes high fashion look so wearable 😍
Как запутавшиеся весенние ручейки! Браво!
Stunning collection full of youthful and modern energy. Gave me Chanel Chance fragrance campaign vibes, which I absolutely adore.
👍
Abisai Iileka I agree. These clothes are understandable and will sell so well.
The best soundtrack ever
Video starts at 6:00
Why so long? The need to cut it.
素材質がステキなのね…🎊🎀🧚
This entire collection is a nightmare flashback to my years in high school in the 80s. Heavy shoulder pads. Neon colors Boleros Madonna in just her bra...
BEAUTIFUL COLLECTION
