Hi! The program I use is called Krita and it is completely free. You can go into their site and download it very easily. There are also some very good tutorials on UA-cam on how to use it. You'll be able to understand much more from a video where you see what they are actually talking about than from me writing about it here, so I would recommend that. This is how I started as well.
It can seem a bit overwhelming at the beginning, but you'll get the hang of it eventually!
