- Kev Hewitt is known for his versatility and overall pedigree as both a match angler 'carp style', as well as a specimen hunter. Having fished difficult day ticket waters extensively he knows a thing or two about getting a result on the day. Here, Kev heads to Bluebell lakes for a spot of bait fishing, and his infamous three rod 'fishing tight' approach.

21 carp in a session I would be in dreamland. Especially catching them fat scaleys.
Gunga Pea most I’ve ever had in a session (15 hours 6 in the morning till 9 at night) is 37 fish from a half pound gold fish to a 12lb carp with no bream. Sadly nothing of this size but hope to get one soon

I was fishing a 24hr ticket on the complex the same day Kev was filming this. I was on Swan and had a bastard blank 😵 word got through that Kev was there and cleaning up. Well done sir.

Hi kev,what line do you use on your reels please??
RAJ Mcguiness Kev most the time uses 10lb ESP syncro with a shock leader. Shock leaders are banned at Bluebell so he may of used a heavier line

Kev uses quite low breaking strains. 10lb Syncro and a shock leader where the rules also, otherwise he will use slightly stronger Syncro.

What distance sticks and pegs are you using?
They are some made in the UK ESP Wrap Sticks - a 'built to last' set coming out in mid-late May. They include a really nice sleeve and some micro markers too.

MisterMolecular48 He uses a size 6 hook a lot. The new double corn artificials (out mid May) have four sizes in the pack and balance out a range of hooks right up to size 4 without putty 👍🏻

ESPCarpgear any ideas of price and will the little pegs come with different colours on top?.That would make it easier know which rod is clipped up to which peg in the ground
Hi Tony, the pegs are numbered but not different colours on top. A customer could customise them with paint if they so wished. Prie for the whole lot including a really handy sleeve for it all is £34.99.

ESPCarpgear just had another look at your blog, I may be wrong yet I can not see any other angler on there...great blog.
Bluebell is one of the most popular day tickets in the country - it was rammed with anglers and always is. Just because we don't have them stood with Kev in the film it does not mean that the complex was cleared for us. Hundreds of anglers would be aware of the venue being closed nationwide if this were the case. Thanks.
