We used to do this in the 70s. Didn't realize it was for protein treatment......thought it was mostly just for shine. Everything comes back eventually! ♡
Back in the ?70's or early 80's? I used to use a shampoo call Body on Tap. It was supposed to give your hair the benefits of beer in a shampoo. I LOVED that shampoo. It smelled SO GOOD! It is crazy now that beer as a hair treatment has come back in style. My hair loves protein so I am going to try this.
I absolutely love your channel! It took me forever to find someone with a similar hair type and curl type and we also happen to have a very similar hair journey. The only differences are that I did have a very definitive moment where my curls came back & my hair was always extremely long and it's been very short for a long time now. I've been trying to grow it out but have trouble distinguishing the difference between damage or a change in texture from my curls coming back. I found your channel just a couple months back and I'm so glad I did because I LOVE your product recommendations! Fun video btw :)
I am usually hesitant of DIY type treatments because most include ingredients that I don't think can really get into our hair (such as egg or avocado masks, things like that). It's neat that beer is one of the few DIY options that has hydrolyzed ingredients so it can actually get in our hair. I never really buy beer but my hair seems to like a lot of protein so I might have to give this one a try sometime.

So cool! Adding shine is definitely one of the benefits!🤩

We had that! My sister used it... do you remember the deodorant “tickle”? 😂

Yes, I’m going to try the beer method because I have a couple of six pack stubbies I need to get rid of- thanks for the tip 👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺

Just want to ask, do you just do a normal low poo before a beer rinse or gelatine treatment, or do you use a clarifying shampoo? TiA !🌻🌻
So i can't use shampoo or hair balm in my head after the usage of beer? Thanks in advance for the answer:)))
Can I use non alcoholic beer
It’s actually required to use non alcoholic because beer with alcohol dries the hair out
