Glad to see you finally cracked tubeless, it gets easier each time you do it now. Good to see you used Pirelli and Silca, a great combo and same as I use and an easy set up. Other tyres are not made the same for sure so for an easy life, stick with Pirelli. Was happy to see you had taken on the advice to dry inflate and lock in one side, making the job so much easier. Tubeless does lose some pressure, so just get used to inflating tyres before each ride and you will be golden.
Yes, tyres sorted and not ridden the bloody bike yet, but seems to be holding well. I’m in the middle of testing out a saddle for both bikes. Looks like I’m about to order another one to go on the Topper now.
I went over board with soap but it had to be done, no excuses to not seat😂 was glad and looking forward to the ups and downs of tubeless riding now mate😉 Appreciate the tips😊👍
I found wiping down the inside of the rim a little with soapy water give just enough slickness before you put the tire on, especially new ones, that extra little bit slide to get it to seat with just a floor pump. I used to install car tires, so same principle.

Glad I'm not the only one who fits tyres the wrong way round! Done that a few times, despite checking which side the disc or cassette goes, and I still managed to beggar it up 😵💫😤

Wonderful Channel No 3 and nice job with the soap! I also did put my tire the wrong side the last time... Twice the wrong side to tell the truth! I didn't experience any puncture in the last two years, mtb and road bike, since I'm tubeless. I weight 93kg and I used to have pinching puntures once in a while. No more. I think tubeless will be heaven for you. Oh! And don't discourage if you wake up one morning with no air left in the tire. It may pschitt at the beginning. Congratulations... :)

Much as i admire your perseverance I still don’t see the point of tubeless. The first puncture you have that doesn’t self seal will remind you of why you put this malarkey behind you.

were very thorough with your prep. Of course you’ll need more sealant in 3 months and ideally remove the last lot. That pain awaits.

You don’t need to remove the old sealant you just top it up. With the Silica stuff they have an activator top up, that reliquaries the dried sealant. Tubeless rides and performs much better than tubes and in my experience in 12 or so years running it, you defiantly don’t get as many punctures. When you get one that doesn’t seal it is a pain though.
@@Ryan.T89 True, you don’t , but the weight advantage soon disappears.
Tubeless may have its place, and this may be one of them, but it does not work with tyre pressures over 80psi.
Not having to stop for 1.2 and 3 punctures in a day riding in the new Forest will be heaven for a start. And proving to myself I can do something. I have to make videos and ride blogs get boring for a lot so I do what I can. Yes like most things there is Silca top up replenisher which needs applying. I’ll be able to run these at 35 so won’t be any issues with 80psi and I wouldn’t bother with Road tyres though I know some do. Pleased the video come out ok as was touch or go as made a load of vid on the day and most had no sound🫣😅 Thanks for the feedback and for me it’s an experience. No doubt I’ll let you all know what I think if it works or not.

@@bockersjvThe weight advantage is negligible, and the additional weight of adding sealant in to dry sealant is so small it’s not really measurable. To put it into perspective the plus of minus weight difference between two tubes of the exact same brand and model would be more. If weight is you biggest concerns tubs are the way to go.
I am not sure why anyone would want to run more than 80psi with a tubeless system. You run 100 plus with tubes to prevent pinch flat punctures. Wider and lower pressure tyres are faster, more comfortable and far nicer to ride. I race 28mm tubeless in cat 2 with 65 front and 70 rear. Some guys are running 30mm tyres with less.
