I dont mind rough seas. Recently cruised out of Cape Liberty up to Greenland and Iceland on Celebrity and we encountered 9 to 12 foot seas for 2 das. Wasn’t bad though and neither of us got sick, I never do. We will have videos coming from that trip some time in the next few weeks.
We will be on this ship in about a month, only the second Royal ship I have been on. Been on Harmony twice and have cruised with other companies. Only a short cruise this time but it’s to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. Looking forward to a short relaxing break. Ship looks to have a lot to do on it still.
i did the flowrider on our honeymoon before the boat even left the dock. fell off and my foot went under me and I limped around for the rest of the cruise
Oh no! Sorry to hear about that. Yeah, I always torn with the Flowrider and possibly getting hurt and then that putting a damper on the rest of the trip. But, gotta have a little fun too.
Rough seas seem to have effected everyone but you! Love how you always make the best of every situation. Hope the rest of the week was better for the rest of the crew! Did you get your ship model? You didn’t pay off that storyline yet! Good stuff as usual! 😜👍👍👍
Got the model ship! The vlogs from the rest of the week are coming... including what happens when it rains at CoCo Cay, all day... and we did make the best of it!
What kind of a camera do you use? Im going on the Independence of the seas on Friday, first cruise. Thanks for the info, we are doing the same thing with the kids too. Glad I saw about getting that extra sea pass card
Enjoy your first cruise! I can go on and on about cameras. For this vlog I used a GoPro Hero 11 Black and a Sony ZV-1F. The GoPro is great except in low light. The Sony was used to try and help those low light situations. It's better but I do realize that it's a budget camera and isn't perfect in low light. I do find the Sony better than the GoPro inside. Still can't beat the ease of the GoPro though.
Our understanding is the Sky Pad, as a VR experience, is no longer. You can read about it here. www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/03/22/royal-caribbean-getting-rid-of-the-sky-pad-all-of-its-ships
We picked it up on Amazon. The European Type C allows you to use the European plug while still having the two American plugs available. try this. www.amazon.com/European-Adapter-TESSAN-Outlets-Charger/dp/B09PDCP1BP/ref=sxin_16_pa_sp_search_thematic_sspa?content-id=amzn1.sym.9efcc700-d635-445c-9d53-884ea58d759c%3Aamzn1.sym.9efcc700-d635-445c-9d53-884ea58d759c&crid=3MZV4H8NHPJEW&cv_ct_cx=type+c+adapter&keywords=type+c+adapter&pd_rd_i=B09PDCP1BP&pd_rd_r=7b444b74-8b5f-4c7e-a51d-78c24b29d2f0&pd_rd_w=46INj&pd_rd_wg=3PZnB&pf_rd_p=9efcc700-d635-445c-9d53-884ea58d759c&pf_rd_r=Z29JJBJMCA5XAVZSVT80&qid=1685735947&s=electronics&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&sprefix=type+C++%2Celectronics%2C114&sr=1-4-2b34d040-5c83-4b7f-ba01-15975dfb8828-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExQjlFQjdDMlNVUExGJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNTQ0NzgwMVRRUllJUEJMQk9MVCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwOTI4Mjk3MVQ3RktPVlZRUENBNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3NlYXJjaF90aGVtYXRpYyZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
Thanks for the content. It's hard to find a vlog that give real details of the ship. To be honest, this ship doesn't have the same amplification as Freedom does. It feels old and outdated. The solarium feels closed in as does the rest of the ship. My husband was expecting the jogging track to be on a different level like Oasis but I see it's on the top deck that winds around the lounge chairs. Now the Sky Pad is closed?! The kids lounge is very boring and don't see my kids using it. I booked this cruise because of the sailing date and of the lesser cost. I prefer Freedom but my family of 11 is all booked and set for this cruise. I'm really trying to stay positive, it's just difficult when so many expectations are not met. Though I am interested in trying Fish and Chips, the refreshment package and watching a bit of Grease. Also, does the ship even have a silent party? My family and I went to one last year and it was a fun activity to burn late night energy. Knowing all of this I wouldn't have booked my cruise with this ship. Is there at least short lines for everything and did you feel the ship was spacious enough for the guests?
Honestly we never felt like Indy was "outdated" or closed. I mean, she's not an Oasis class ship but she's in great shape and has plenty to offer. Yes, there was a silent disco party. We have that in one of the vlogs from our trip. What's enjoyable about the Freedom Class ships is that reservations aren't required for the shows. We haven't been on Freedom so not knowing what we don't know I guess helps. But Honestly, Independence met all of our expectations and the experience was great. Our Vlog wasn't intended to call out any sort of shortcomings with the ship. We had a blast and gladly would sail on her again. I hope you find enjoyment onboard.
Love the lights you put in the kids room!
I cant believe fish and ships is now complimentary. Wish it was when i went in 2022😢
I leave on my cruise in june cant wait uber excited
Have Fun!
Your vlogs make us so excited for our July cruise on Indy!! Thank you for sharing!!
Thanks so much! You all will have a blast onboard. She's a great ship with a great crew.

Didn’t know about the birthday package, just ordered for hubby! Thanks for taking us along! We set sail on Monday!

Silent disco party?! How do you find out about these and where was it? Going in October 2023!
The silent disco party was listed on the Royal app. Ours was in the Olive or Twist lounge.
nice video and great energy bro. keep it up
Thanks very much! Appreciate the love 👍

only 74 more days until we take our very first cruise 🚢 with Royal Caribbean going to Coco Cay.

Is thr skypad permanently closed? Just booked an Oct 2023 cruise on this ship and the on-board activities were a huge factor for our teen.
