Hello my friends. I’m going to show you to ride off of ledges safely. We want to get comfortable consistently keeping that front wheel from dropping to ensure a smooth landing. The first thing we want to do is to find a small ledge to practice on. Ideally small enough that it won’t matter if you drop the front end. Now the first trick is to stay on the throttle long enough. We need to stay on the throttle until that rear wheel leaves the ledge other wise the front wheel could drop. You can hear that I come off the throttle just as the rear wheel leaves the ledge here. A common mistake is letting go of the throttle too soon. The next thing we want to think about is avoiding wheel spin. If we spin our wheel as we try to jump off the ledge, we will likely no be able to carry that front wheel and we will get the same result as letting go of the throttle too early. One thing we can do to keep traction on our take off is to compress our suspension right before we apply the throttle. Driving your weight straight down through the footpegs will get you a nice even compression. I like to be on the balls of my feet on the footpegs. This drives those knobbier into the ground and lessens our chance of spinning the wheel when we get on the throttle. This is especially helpful when you don’t have a lot of speed and momentum to rely on to carry your front end. If you need to hop off of something from very slow speeds or from a stand still, you really want to make sure you do it right. I hope these tips help! The best thing you can do is practice, practice, practice! The more repetition you get under your belt, the more consistent you’ll get with this and you’ll become more comfortable in the extreme terrain.

@@scottloudon14 Im not sure if you have tried to do a log pivot turn with a 500lb adventure bike, but I'll tell you that it will rip your arms out of their sockets ;)

@@scottloudon14 Haha, yes, the T7 is lighter... but still big. I might try a log pivot on it yet!
      Merry Chrissy to you too.

My attempts turn out with me cradling my beast of a bike like a baby hoping nothing is broken. It takes a lot of practice to make it look this good. The worst is rocks cause they get slick, plus landing on them is not great. OH yeah MERRY CHRISTMAS! HAPPY NEAR YEAR to all y'all who love a steel horse!

I'd love to ride with you,I dont have a problem with ledges like that I sent mine off in 5th gear from a 8 foot drop I couldn't stop so I just said a lil prayer n twisted the throttle back...the ledges I'm kinda terrified of is a ledge that drops down to a decline going off of a hill side or mountain side is it the same technique or is it a little different with weight being transferred towards the back or does my weight need to be more centered
