At just 22, Clementine Creevy has been releasing albums for seven years and fronting Cherry Glazerr since 2013. Along the way, she’s created a distinctive band sound and a guitar approach that relies on spare phrasing, backbone riffs, dynamic shifts, and sonic contrast.
Before Cherry Glazerr’s June 11 show at Nashville’s Exit/In, the guitarist took some time to hang with PG’s Chris Kies. Creevy strapped on her Fender American Professional Strat HSS Shawbucker and showed why she’s now rocking a Roland solid-state combo (instead of her trusted Mesa/Boogie) and how she dirties up the amp’s classic-clean platform with a handful of signal disruptors.

Never proclaim you are a "journalist" again, what were you thinking...
Clem is rock’s sweetheart; writes great riffs, great songs, and plays a full-throttle show where the kids can safely go wild🍒
Except for when she was stroking off a rickenbacker.
I am sooo impressed with her! Her music was one thing but to see her knowledge of her instrument my level of respect for her went to the moon! She is sooo talented!!
I don't know any of her music but after watching this she is damn cool. Love her passion.
@Stephen Docherty geez calm down
@Stephen Docherty Your strat sucks.
Larry's tunes I love her music it’s really inspiring
Check out her song “Ohio.” Great stuff. (Even if I suspect she and I have wildly different views, I still respect for her and dig at least some of her music.)
She gets my vote. She sounds like me and my friends who’ve been playing forever. She knows her gear and I love her attitude!!!
this is a very cool rigdown. for me it is always more interesting to know about the gear and the intentions of the smaller indie bands. i just heard the name Cherry Glazerr but know they made it on my spotify list.
with love from Germany
Cherry really knows her equipment. Definitely going to check out her music after seeing this video. I really liked the comments about the clarity of the notes with distortion. I will always love high gain and metal, but also the classic Paul Kossiff, Leslie West, and so many other greats. Keep Electric Guitar Alive !!! Acoustics also. Been playing for over 45 years and will play till I can't.
Her name's not Cherry, it's Clementine Creevy. She's the bandleader of Cherry Glazerr.
Great to give some love to a young talent! Fine demonstration and interview! Thanks Clem and Chris!
I just heard of this band like 4 days ago and now a Rig Rundown, how cool is that? Great RR as always!
Turn it up a little, turn it down never.
Crush the patriarchy, -"I'm not familiar with this company".
***starts sweating heavily***
Well the company will forever be niche so sounds about right.
I love the black pickups in that strat. They're gorgeous
I loved this rundown!
Awesome rig, I'm a fan. Gonna have to check them out.
clem has the sauce, she's the real deal. love silently relating so well to someone i don't know at all, if only by seeing how music courses through them.
Cherry glazzer is the coolest band, and Clem is super nice,i first learned about them 2 yrs ago when my brothers band used to play with them at velvet jones,in Santa Barbara,my brothers band is called Royal Suns, they’re on Spotify, band camp, and UA-cam
Love the fact that she has the Eddie VanHalen mindset with her guitar, without sounding anything like him.
A refreshingly great rig rundown.
Cool interview, fun to watch and both of you guys are hilarious but this is great, "it can handle all of the dirty I want to give it." I resemble that remark!
Clem is the REAL DEAL! I love her choice in tone.
@Stephen Docherty "the shittiest pedalboard I have ever saw". You can't even assemble a proper sentence in English, but you're ripping someone for not being into the same stuff as you? What a negative-minded prick.
@Stephen Docherty That's why she's in a famous band, on the cover of guitar mags, and touring the world, while you flip burgers at McDonalds.
@Stephen Docherty Also, you should've paid more attention in your English classes.
any info on that low sound company that makes the super fuzz? website somewhere?
These are way better when the Artist demonstrates the utility of each piece of gear in real time, like this chick did.
Shes cool. And those tones .... wow... Makes me want to try a JC120 again with pedals
cool musician and rig. that handpainted pedal is beautiful
It's pretty generic to me. It just basic ass vaginal imagery in the style of elementary school artwork.
true, but that's right up my alley
@@aspaceproductions LOL
@@cluecumber That's fair. I've just seen a lot of "bad on purpose" type art the past few years and it's super overdone
Would anyone have a link to Lo(w)sounds - the makers of the superfuzz clone at 8:35? I am failing pretty hard at tracking them down myself!
Stephen Docherty relax guy. go take a walk or something. get some fresh air and take a break from the internet.
Stephen Docherty trolled the comments. CG Bass player maybe? Bored merch maid? I'm guessing it's for amusement, but being a despicable human is sadly in vogue. Too many creeps, too many real problems, not enough brave loving people taking action.
I use the yellow and oranges myself as well
okay, I was ready to be the "old guy" cynic...yea, yea, yea....but, after watching this, I really like her enthusiasm/playing/sounds!! she's very good!!
I love my EQD pedals ...especially my Westwood
Baroness is in Nashville next week. Please do a rig rundown with them
It's happening!
What exactly does she use to glaze cherries?
Her pedal board, duh.
Cool
Super cool!!
I love you Clem💖🥰
She is super cool, I love her laugh, hahaha.
hey @fender make me a Strat same like her but with hardtail with 1 volume 1 tone 3 way switch two paf humbucker (low output) Dimarzio paf master or SD 59/Custom Hybrid
I didn’t know Dunlop medium picks were yellow.🥺
I should probably take up the drums.
she's the best
7:55 Orb Sighting. Wonder if that’s a regular thing around her when she’s playing.
Oooo
The title of this video is misleading. People will think her name is Cherry, not Clementine (Clem).
seems like a pretty cool down to earth person
Buckwheat in a headlock!
Sounds like a great name for a band! 😂
I remember glazing cherries. 🍒
Aw she seems a lot nicer than I imagined she would be. Nice surprise. 😌
HAIL THE GLAZE
That Chris Kies is one fine piece of ACE!!!
I use yellow tortex, because if it is good enough for Megadeth to thrash with, it's good enough for me.
15:22 Don't worry Clem, we all do. We're all neurotic tuning freaks
Her guitar skills.......🥺
Clem is so silly!!!!!
Those pedalboard zoomies makes the video look like a vlog or commercial.
“Crush The Patriarchy.” 🤣😂
It's about time.
Pretty cheezy ass name. But what can ya do...
crush the patriarchy love u clem !
Thats a friggin long cable.
I love female guitarplayers specially her!:) she is so cute and happy!:) I do own a version of her guitar but i kept all the controls and pickups on mine and i prefer rosewood fingerboard. Mine is a little bit older too.
Your guitar friend likes you lol
Damn this chick is cool
@Stephen Docherty What is wrong with you?, You've been attacking everyone in the comments section.
@Stephen Docherty Good luck on that I guess.
Rig Rundown To Pearl Jam With John Bohlinger
Pleasee ☺☺☺☺
Just found out that I am vintage
I don't man, I own the same guitar. I don't think I would have took that neck pickup out of there. I find it is a good pickup and very useable even at high gain. It sounds so good sometimes I forget it is a neck pickup.
Like like this is like it's like like like.... Wtf?!?!? She likes to like a lot.
Need a whiskey Myers rig rundown
She's so damn cute
Cutie
She is kinda female john 5
She is reasonably skilled and quite pleasant
Think you could show her up on your bedroom rig?
Not much of a player but lots of fun energy which made it enjoyable to watch.
Mike Dub
Yup. Songwriting > Playing imo.
What a cutie...
tame impala
You're a cutie
I know I am but Clem is cuter!
@@merlinaudubon6202 I don't know.........do you have red pants and shoes?
Thanks!
I can't see you.
So, she made a Tom Delonge Strat?
try again junior
Clmentine looks like Steve Austin here
So she figured out what Eddie Van Halen did.
go away
Politics in gutiar pedals, now I've seen everything
Hahah! Makes company with all women to empower women. By selling an invention made by men. To complain about men... Seems legit.
That pink super fuzz pedal is horrible.
Nah, it's cool man
@@matiasaraya5451 It sounds good, it's the color and art design that's horrible.
@@SalvvOrtiz no dood. It's done by feminists so it's automatically amazing... But on the real yeah it's bad. Generic ass vaginal imagery in the style of children's artwork. Like i havent seen that same schtick from feminists for decades.
Ha, first
I feel validated
Great gear. Is it me or does she look really stiff and awkward when playing. Not a criticism of the playing, just an observation.
seems a bit nervous.
Awkward is good, I prefer it its charming 🤷🏻♀️
The interviewer is totally playing stupid with her
Is she legal?
Are you an imbecile?
Hi my name is Chris Hansen, can you take a seat please?
she is a beginner
As a guitar teacher for years, sorry but she's not 😂 She's a good player
got to be kidding...
49% of me agrees with you. 51% of me says it's art, and majority rules. We need to check out the band, maybe the songs are great.
It's hard to succeed in Murica as an artist. Poor girl doesn't have money for razors.
Teo Petran, Jesus put hair in all our pits.
You might just now be finding this out but not every woman chooses to shave her armpits 😰 Crazy ain't it?! I don't shave mine cause I don't want to. Hairy armpits for life! 💃🔥🌱🎸
I want a pedal that says "preserve the patriarchy"
You’re making up these “ guitarist “, aren’t you ?
You, obviously, live in 1976.
No pentatonic scales for you, sorry
@@lucaserojas hahahaha
She gets to save money for more pedals by not buying razors to shave her pits...
Holy shit there's always a idiot
OhGodNo.........
Kirk Powers juvenile misogynistic comments , why would you bring that kind of commentary to such a peaceable comment section ?
@@marknorris3769 Ahhh...I see the screw-up fairy has visited us again. Are your parents siblings?
@@movimentodoscacos A lightweight you shows to what?? Pretend to be a knight in shining armour " on the internet" to save the girl with BO?
Is this a joke?
Thank you. I have students that have played less than a year that play better than her.
@@j.t.creations7048 As someone who teaches guitar for a living as well, I highly doubt that. She's been playing for years, and this is a rig rundown, not a performance. I've seen her live - she's a fantastic player and songwriter. You're just saying that cause she's a chick. You can go ahead and say I suck too cause I'm a chick.
@@starsinmysky I stand by my comment after rewatching this. And it has nothing to do with gender so get off that. She's a basic level player with basic level skills. I've had students that at 1 year were better than this.
I wonder if Clem ever kicked her coke habit? Cool rig tho. Miss the Ric but I totally understand why she ditched it.
what is it with millenials and being goofy? So annoying.
She's just enjoying her self and is excited talking about her gear, would you rather her seem bored and uninterested?
@@NoMorePedals No it goes beyond that, I see millenials, especially females, in public all the time making weird caricature voices and jumping around: "wuuuuooooaaahhh", just a goofball demeanor like this dumbass girl. What is that shit???
peanutfallacy I think you’re just imagining things.
Its called 'being young and full of life' ;^)
what is it with people like you leaving rude comments that are irrelevant and unproductive?
You lost me at “crush the patriarchy” politics in music is ruining it.
Wade Wilson, it's a pedal, not a song.
"Politics in music"
Are you stupid?
lol clueless
What's the point of music if not an outlet to express yourself?
