I love this song very much... Lord I thank you for the Holy Spirit that you let it lives in us and empower us to minister your Gospel...... I love you Lord...
Excellent praise and worship song to Lord Jesus Christ . The Holy Spirit has the ministry of convicting people of their sins, Thank you for pruning us in your loving kindness.
Absolutely Great Job On this song! Spirit filled! An Agree that McKenzie Voice is A gift! That whole CD...... " Sooner Count the Stars" is A HEAVEN SENT piece of Musical work! I Love the Theme of the Triune God through out that CD !
So beautiful, thanks for sharing these acoustic versions. I lost my hearing in my left ear a few years ago, and it is hard for me to enjoy some songs with full bands as my single ear had a hard time with all the instruments and fullness. I really enjoy these stripped down versions, so thanks again for taking your time to make them. You have wonderful musicians and singer in your group.
P.s. I play This Album AS I get near the Ocean on Long Island, N.Y. from Upstate N.Y. " I've nick named the album the " Going to the Beach " CD. Just seems very fitting !
Hi. I'm a big fan of these acoustic versions...are they available somewhere to buy? I have the albums already but really prefer some of these versions. Many thanks.
As one who believes in the assurance of Salvation and that the Holy Spirit NEVER leaves once accepted I would agree. However, I believe these types of songs are more of a rhetorical request for our own encouragement as spiritual human-beings. Kind of like talking to yourself and giving yourself directions as you do something or asking yourself questions as if you don't know the answers. It more literally speaking the words to make ourselves RE-aware of His constant presence. Bringing the Holy Spirit to the forefront of our mind and reminding our hearts to look to Christ's teachings, sacrifice, forgiveness, and the mercy and grace and love (agape) freely given and demonstrated by the Father. I used to get hung up on stuff like this all the time too. Like when people pray for God to BE WITH someone as they grieve or travel or transition....what? OF COURSE HE'LL BE THERE! He never leaves! Hebrews declares it! Jesus declares it! Such a gift! Amen?
Love this! So beautiful. Thank you, Lord, for your restless Spirit within us. --- Friends, is there any way someone can briefly explain how you manage to create that background? Is there a link you can lead me to? I would love to recreate it. Thanks so much!
+Anna Diaz Thanks for asking! It's a wooden frame with torn strips of watercolor paper dyed in different shades of blue attached to it. Does that help?
The Holy Spirit never points us to Himself, He always points us to Jesus and to the Father. He helps us to pray to the Father. He helps us to worship the Father. We are never to direct the Spirit Himself. For music that is usually so spot on, I'm disappointed in SGM for this one.
In one sense you're right, but it's noteworthy that Jesus himself pointed his disciples to the Spirit in John 14-16. Granted, he identified him as One whose work is to direct our hearts to the Father and to the teachings of the Son, but he could've just given us his Spirit without telling us he was doing it, right? Presumably that's what he would've done if giving attention to the Spirit of Christ is necessarily improper. But the constant confession of the Church with respect to the Spirit has been, "with the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified." And as S Thomas notes, the song addresses the Spirit as one who points us to the Father and to Christ our Redeemer. Don't let your theology get in the way of your doxology!
This conversation makes it sound as though we worship three independent [g]ods, versus the ONE TRIUNE GOD. Though Jesus Himself teaches us to pray directly to the Father, He also states "I and the Father are ONE". We read in John that Jesus was clearly the creator of the universe, yet we also read in Genesis the "...the Spirit of the Lord hovered over the deep" during the creation. We know that the Holy Spirit IS GOD, and we also must remember that God is spirit. I worship the ONE GOD of the universe, as I am certain you all do as well. Remember He is One God with 3 ways perfectly represented for our sake and for His glory.
You are a correct and incorrect at the same time sister. The spirit does direct us to the Father and Son. But to believe that the Spirit who is himself God as well is not to receive honour and worship is a view not consistent with Scripture.
THE ONE who pulls me towards Christ, THE ONE who gives me confidence to preach the Gospel.....Amen. Great song, For the Glory of God!!!!!!

Beautiful voice blended with great instrumental giving out the strong biblical message in the song. What a blessing!!
She's a good singer. She hits the pitch where it needs to be, and when. The rest of the band isn't too shabby either. sw 11/8/24

do we really need to ask the Spirit of God to come when we are seald with Him? (Ephesians 1:13-14)

how is the back round made? how did u put it together?

Amy Loachamin I feel it is still spot on. The lyrics clearly show the Holy Spirit points to the Father.
