I never knew there was an archive thank you for this. I wasn't able to catch the second episode live, and couldn't find it anywhere, and felt like I couldn't watch any of the series without it so I ended up missing the whole thing. Made me pretty damn sad because I wanted to call in.
As someone that lives on the shore of a Great Lake, I can tell you this. A lake and an ocean look the same when you look out from the waters edge. Much like the abyss and a room completely blackened by ash and soot.
The gods and powerful beings in Lovecraft's work generally should not be considered good or evil. One of Lovecraft's running themes is that there are beings that exist who don't even notice humankind, or if they do, they consider us as to a flea. Despite that, great analysis.
No no - Wow... That comment was Lovecraftian as fuck! You've left the Dark Souls of comments man, colourless imploding star for you 😂. In all seriousness though, completely agree... Though I'm not sure anyone actually "benefits" from understanding HP's nihilism lol, despite how awesome it may be.
I think in this sense, good and evil are probably better rephrased as "constructive" and "destructive.", which would fit into the opening monologue about Tank Man talking about digging an oil well and appreciating an oil well.
Though in a way, if we do go with the notion of "we are as mere insects to the Old Ones", there are people interested in bugs. And indeed, there are entomologists. Some of them might be grossed out by our mere existence, some might just want us out of the way since we're making the place look unclean, but there may also be those who look at us and think "fascinating..." or "oooh that's weird". For all we know, Cthulhu might have just been groggy from his nap and greatly unsettled by the pale stick-like bugs at his doorstep. For all we know, he might have thought that the Alert was his old mailbox, right up to the point where Johansen drove it into Cthulhu's head. Could you imagine that? Going to the mailbox only for it to fly off its post and hit you in the head? At that moment, Cthulhu knew this day was only going to get worse, so he just headed back inside and binge-watched a bunch of ProJared videos.
Many of the gods and powerful beings don't care about humanity, that's true. But in a good amount of HP's writing, there is clear intent of certain aspects of the outside that means humanity harm, either through seeing an opportunity to claim the Earth or from a long-standing grudge.
SuaatanaTube and our piping is our commenting and discussing, trying to figure this out. But then how before Nyarlethotep breaks our pipe to throw everything in chaos?
I like your analyses but I kind of disagree with your conclusion that the audience failed some sort of test. I actually think from the interactions I have seen that the audience "failing" was kind of the point. The phone is almost always an interruption of the Mann family talking to each other. It breaks in and muddles everything up with irrelevant junk information. On the note of Jouglat dieing I think that he didn't have to die but not because we could have given the correct names but because if we hadn't been calling Jouglat wouldn't have died. We encouraged him in his soldier obsessions. We encouraged Jack in his orange paintings which set everyone off. We encouraged Jouglat and the officer into a proper love triangle. We played along with the cryptic clues and messages that were immediately ignored as soon as the phone was put down. We encouraged, we interrupted, we played along, we tried to force our own ideas, in short, we meddled. Our expectations said that since we could call in that we should. That since we could call in and talk to the characters we would be able to unlock a good ending. But everything that the we added was either ignored or made things worse and I kind of think that was the point. When we tried to force our own expectations on the story we destroyed it. Everyone on the reddit and in these videos is going on about what would happen if we said the right thing. How could we have kept Jouglat alive? What if we had guessed the right names? etc. I am far far far more interested in what would have happened if nobody had called.
TL;DR: I think the message is that our actions are futile, and sometimes events are just set in motion and can't be changed. The idea that our cries to the Mann family could never change the events of The Cry of Mann; and to think otherwise would only be a product of our own delusions and preconceptions of the art. I don't think there is a correct answer, and that's what you're hinting at. But I think about it a bit differently, maybe the deeper meaning is that, sometimes, regardless of what you do, or how hard you try, things can go poorly and get off the fucking rails. It's not that you shouldn't try, as in we shouldn't've called, it's that it didn't matter whether we tried or not, sometimes we do not have control over a situation, even if we feel like we have some kind of control. And that's the terrifying part of life that the project tried to hint at, not what if we were right, but what if it didn't matter what we did, things were going to go poorly, and all we could do is watch and yell. Also another idea could be that the regret over what we see ourselves having done wrong may be misguided, as perhaps it didn't even matter in the first place. Maybe we're all on this journey of life, sometimes we can change things (some names are referenced here and there) as an outsider, but sometimes it doesn't matter what you do unless you're a part of the actual events or have direct control over the events or people. All the people in the project had thoughts, feelings, emotions, and motivations all their own. We were only a voice in their ear, perhaps similar to a friend you only talk on the phone with, or on the internet with. Sometimes you might be able to help shape what the person does, but at the end of the day their actions are their own. Maybe this isn't an ARG, maybe it's just an interactive piece of art. The art is already there, you can interact with it superficially, but at the end of the day your interactions were only superficial. And maybe that the hope of being able to help or hurt the people in the art and the futility of what you do is the true message. Then again maybe I'm reading too much into it, I don't know lel.
Oh, and the title could lend credence to my idea. The Cry of Mann, the hopeless cry of people trying to help the Mann family. Now that's reading too much into something.
I halfway agree just due to the fact that there were so many more false opportunities to call in that had no effect on the characters than there were story-affecting calls, which greatly decreased the chances that a smart caller would end up on-air at the right time. Nevertheless, you still have to face the fact that we got a suboptimal ending and the storyline was definitely designed to account for a better one. So on some level the audience failed. Or at least got a C. Maybe C+, it's hard to say how much worse it could have gone :P
beanstheclown interesting take, I was kinda in a gray area about wether the calls are good or bad, because just like many thought, these calls interrupted the flow of the show which frustrated me and a lot of the viewers, but if it hadn’t been for the calls, there wouldn’t have been a chance to show the details that otherwise wouldn’t have been touched by the characters.
BE NOT AFRAID YOUNG ONES. EMBRACE THE MADNESS OF WHAM CITY. ALLOW IT TO ENVELOP YOU. LET WHAM CITY'S LOVE HOLD YOU DOWN UNDER THE WATER. DROWN. Seriously though, i've been to two of their live shows and they are a real treat. Heed Nick's advice here and keep an eye out for their next tour.
Wait, if I go to a Wham City show, there's a chance Nick will bite me? Do I need to get a Eldritch Rabies shot? Cause I'm pretty sure that's how you get a Eldritch Rabies, and my healthcare doesn't cover that.
@@ToxicTigerPlatypus Commenting in 2020 is the #1 cause of Lynks. Real talk though, the whole idea of misinformation and paranoia like with Lynks feels like it has a weird parallel with Coronavirus (other than the fact that Lynks doesn't exist and Coronavirus does).
Very good video as always Nick, i have a few things I thought of while watching both this and the cry of mann that I think I can articulate now. The fact we failed them is very aparrent. Theres a lot of things that could have been done to influence them in a better direction but I feel like the irony of not communicating enough to figure out the way to help almost works in the favour of the experience. It leaves a lesson to be learned. Also I feel like it's a little unfair to fully blame the audience for not participating in a more meaningful way because this way of delivering an interactive story is very, very abstract to a lot of people who are used to pouring over footage for hours before giving input in character (like with an arg youtube series) and also a lot of people probably didn't call in because they were terrified of saying something wrong and ruining the whole thing. So... Half agreeing with you there but also giving fairness to the other side of it. As for the ending. We could have gotten a much 'better' ending but I have to praise Wham City Comedy for allowing the story to shift so much with viewer input. They didn't just let it effect small things, they let it pull the story in an interesting way. So I'm kinda glad it went the way it did! So curious about how it could have gone, though, but thats just human nature huh? Anyway, that's my thoughts. I'd love to hear everyone elses if they wanna share?
Although, I must say, I think we should be glad that we didn't communicate as much. Imagine the consequences for the Mann family if some of their callers were particularly... *ambitious*. They could have whispered lies and encouragement and discipline and outrage into every person's ear. They could have had the Manns at each other's throats in an indecipherable web of intrigue and mind games, messing with every Mann individually and trying desperately to undo the damage of the callers that opposed them, or sought to make positive changes. They could have even slighted Gergiev enough for much more severe repercussions on the supernatural side, and God only knows what would happen if they conspired to turn the eldritch aspects of the show up to eleven. There was a lot of potential for help, yes... but there was just as much potential for the viewers to reduce the situation into a smoldering wreck, within reason for the show. But that would take talking to and with each other. We mostly know how to talk at and over each other. Maybe, in this case, that was a mercy.
Love watching these hour long videos while playing video games like Slime Rancher and Minecraft. A stream of one's opinion and analysis with a smooth voice. Also love that you included Pan Pizza's utter public self-humiliation, still can't believe they verbally executed that man on a live stream.
Hey Nick, love your stuff and you're one of my favorite UA-camrs right now, but if I could offer a small piece of constructive criticism: Could you kinda front-load a little more information about the actual topic? It took 9 and a half minutes to get to the very basic premise of what Cry of Mann actually is. I stuck it out because I know you typically pick some awesome stuff (and you did, it was worth it), but that's a long time to wait to find out if the concept is even slightly interesting. Like, if I hadn't seen your previous Wham City Stuff and I watched this, I'd have tuned out after the first minute because there's no indication of what this is all about. Really hope I didn't come across as disrespectful, this was a fascinating video and you do great work.
This is great advice. You weren't disrespectful at all. I think this commentary will help Nick. I was watching the video as an insider, and so I didn't even notice, but now that you said it I can see it.
I appreciate your approach to constructive criticism. A lot of people nowadays would say "lel wasted 9 mins of my life wtf" and that provides no helpful feedback. Criticism is great for content creators, if done appropriately (as shown by your comment).
Ummmmm I think you missed a bit of the irony with that. Because Nick literally talked about how Lovecraft had a habit of going on and on about things that had nothing to do with the story, and would usually make his readers think, when is he going to get to the point. That's exactly what Cry of Mann did with the story, and that's what Nick did at the beginning of the video. That was the point. They were basically making a parody on it.
I get that, but if the overall point of the video is to get people interested in the topic, starting with a super long in-joke isn't a good first impression. Nick doesn't need to explain the entire thing at the start, just the basic premise so people who haven't watched the entire video series first can gauge whether or not it's something they'd be interested in. I'm not saying this is bad; once you've seen the whole thing it makes sense, but I'd argue you shouldn't *need* to watch the entire video to understand the basic point. It's just overly dense and might turn some people off when they otherwise might be interested. Nick's a creative dude, this is just the sort of risk you take when you're creative and sometimes it doesn't 100% pay off.
Thank you for making such a comprehensive video! One thought I had when thinking about the Rock vs. Reef question was that the character is really preoccupied with what makes coral living. Especially considering his backstory, I can see him asking about what makes coral alive when it just looks like dead rock. In that case maybe he would then be the coral? Thank you again for making such a well-produced video at this length. Your attention to detail is greatly appreciated, the editing must have been goliath!
"Trains are cool." Robby Rackleff also thinks that way too. He has a genuine love of trains and is a legit railfan. I think the trains in 'Cry of Mann' are simply set dressing by an enthusiast.
It was such a great concept that we, the viewers, failed to deliver on. It was frustrating to hear just about every caller 'Yes...and' Rule of improv. I applaud Wham City for working on that edge, though.
I feel like Ghost Woman might have been a stand in for Hypnos, the benign ruler of the Dreamlands. She was there to set up communication, and told us of what was and what could be, but didn't directly interact with the Mann family except at the very last moment before defeat.
Jack Brown Yeah, they happen to contrast very well. See, for instance, any given AAA video game's cover art. You gotta have the blue on the left and the orange on the right! It highlights the MC's _deep characterization_
I figure that, in regards to how Tanking Mann had nothing to do with the main show, it's kind of an allusion to how Lovecraft and his characters and themes are used in modern media: willy-nilly with no regard for the original tone, and an excuse to throw squid-headed monsters in so you can say "ooh, scary scary, its LOVECRAFTIAAAAAAAAAAN"
What makes you say that? I'd say that the Lovecraft references were very fitting, since they were using paranormal and strange things to represent communication, and Lovecraft is all about strangeness.
Plasma Bat he's saying that modern media has decided that all that makes something lovecraftian is not the themes or tone but the monsters and squid stuff. There's even an anime that call nyarulko chan or something, that is just the ancient ones in anime girl form
Pocholo Uy to be fair that's kinda played for laughs, I'd say a worse offender is anything that is seriously trying to portray an unknowable entity and then the story ends with whatever MC we have beating up Cthulhu or whatever. It's worse in games because they always feel the need to make these entities obstacles to overcome instead of like live with, but some movies do it too.
As someone who called in to Berry at I relatively unimportant time, I still felt like I should’ve been more prepared. It’s hard, you know you’re about to be broadcasted to a few thousand and you know you’re going to get bullied in the chat if you mess up. It was a weird experience and I dropped the ball, but it was still fun.
I also noticed that in Unedited Footage of a Bear, the guy that gets arrested looks a lot like the dude with the orange teeth. Not only that but in UFOAB, text in the bottom appears saying, "See our magazine about Tables and Chairs" Wink wonk
For myself with my horrendous social anxiety, the idea of a live performance and the possibility of my interaction ruining the production? I had to take my meds just to calm down enough to write this clearly. No thank you, no, never. Glad you all enjoyed it. Never heard of Glass Menagerie and now I'm torn with terror to even look it up, even if it's the only way I'll understand all this stuff.
Riffler Underhill The glass menagerie is merely a slice of life play by Tennessee Williams. Its not horror related or interactive... personally I found it a bit dull compared to Williams' works.
Yes yes 100 times yes My phone was on 2% when the notification for this came on I ran upstairs to my charger and hit my hip on a door handle It was worth it
I love your interpretations. They always add so much meaning that I missed. I seriously adored this show. I feel super privileged that my art got used in the last four episodes. I absolutely love this channel and I love Wham City!
Thank God for the random girl I met on a forum site for introducing me to HP Lovecraft. I picked up the references for the books I "read" via audiobook.
This...this one kinda hit me so bad...the conclusion of the analysis is like a whole friggin message for the whole world...*weepsandregretseverthinkingofit*
Another thought: maybe that episode of tanking mann that trailed off into one caller taking over the show and talking to other callers was meant to be a brainstorming session for us? Definitely did not go as planned if so lmao
Thank you for all the hard work you do, Nick! I dunno if I'd have known about Wham City's work without you, and I get so excited whenever I see you've uploaded something new. Thank you for being rad, and hoping I do run into you at a Wham City show sometime ::O
EDIT- Ok, watched the video now. Yeah. You obviously talked about that for sure. I havent gotten to watch the video yet. But I just wanted to quickly say I remember an early episode (episode 3 I think?) had ghost girl saying something to the effect of "this has been cool, but things arent working out the way I expected, but that's ok. No reason to get upset or mad...". I think this is literally Robbie talking. I Remember an interview I read about "This house has people in it", and how excited he was when he heard that "they found everything...". "they" being the fans, and how they uncovered all the hidden secrets. So I imagine he wanted to experienced that in real time. And he totally expected people to band together in the forums and uncover the secrets and make a much bigger impact on the plot. Like changing the outcome of whether duglet was killed or not. Unfortunately Its probably difficult for a fan in "the know" to get through. So I think he was actually disappointed. I would be. Hell, I am a little bit. But that's not on Robbie at all.
The Man in the Pit could reference the Main Character from "The Rats in the Walls". If I remember correctly, the Story ends with him standing in a Pit, that was used to keep a certain kind of Lifestock, doing something horrible, I won't spoil.
finally done. can't wait. my God, pan pizza got cooked bad. between watching this and cry of Mann. I've learned alot about my own shortcomings. Thx Nick for laying all the cards on the table for us. I'm you'll never read this but, I needed to learn this old lesson. And yes it was an awesome gambit on their part. Ill definitely need to rewatch it.
I think this live event taught viewers an important lesson in communication, and in communicating with a live event like this, I really think if they try something like this again that we, the audience, will be ready and perform better as interactive participants. I mean Ive never seen anything like this before, Im sure the viewers were VERY confused when calling in and didnt know what their purpose was, because of our lack of communication outside the show! God damn this is freaking brilliant!
Gotta love the cofftea, thanks for this lesson, and thanks for the opportunity to take part, I would not have even known about this and I will pay attention to them from now on, they are too good.
(to the beginning of the video) Honestly Nick, I always thought of you as a mama bird figure ( no matter how ironic that is). Think about it, you are the parent, you bring us into the idea most the times, you gather the food of knowledge, and feed it to us, the baby birds until some of us learn to fly, giving the information and growing and thriving to share it to become the mothers themselves. I love it.
Dude this might seem weird but I love your voice. It's so soothing yet ominous, perfect for covering these typed of topics. Your videos are perfect for listening to in almost any situation.
I think the callers were as exactly as coordinated as you can reasonably expect random people from random parts of the world to be able to cooperate with each other at a moments notice.
Hey Nick! I absolutely love your videos and I really appreciate the illustration you made in this video about content creators. We have a high expectation for pie since it’s what we’ve been fed. But we can’t filter our current experience if we are being fed cake which is inherently a different type of content. Excellent metaphor to help me understand the variation of my expectation and my experience when it doesn’t align. 👍🙂
I wouldn't call you a teacher per say more like, an awesome creepy uncle. You sit us down around the campfire that is our screens and tell us tales of horror and wonder while also giving us your own interpretations of things that are not clearly shown. Also I do have to say your videos are absolutely MARVELOUS for writing inspiration.
regular person: I watch adult swim for rick and morty. Night mind viewer: Cry of Mann, this house has people in it. the VARIOUS ARGs on the platform, unedited footage of a bear... the list goes on people!!!!
I really hope Wham city knows how lucky they are. In another time their immense talent and dedication would have either been laughed off or totally ignored. I'm not saying they don't deserve our interest, I'm just saying they came in at just the right time where their talent would be appreciated as it should be. I imagine countless other groups and individuals who were equally talented and hard working have seen their work fall on deaf ears. I really hope that our society continues down the road to accepting and encouraging entertainment that can't easily be categorized. Just because it's difficult to market and explain to others doesn't mean it's not worthwhile. I wonder if that aspect of communication is part of the message they were pushing during this series?
The Glass Menagerie recommendation came out of complete left field, but it makes me even more certain that I'm watching quality content. It's abhorrently underrated and dripping with symbolism and psychodrama, and like much of the work analyzed on your channel doesn't rely on diverse locations and effects to make its point or be captivating.
Oh man, I missed this video of yours. Glad you took some time to look over this weirdness. I used to work at Williams Street as a web developer while and saw them creating this. Several books on the set are off of my bookshelf and they used to do warmups in the hallway by the bathroom. Super cool people to work near!
Night Mind I've got a bone to pick with you. You need to put a warning up or a prompt saying don't marathon this...especially when you're going to be getting progressively tireder. I was emotionally drained by episode 6, and started hating the callers. Maybe having a day in between each entry makes it easier but in one sitting as your eyes start to sag and you get sleepier. Then the ending! I was invested but then I started realizing that nothing was going anywhere! Do you know what that last 10 minutes is like when you've been watching for about 6-8 hours, and he's just sitting there asking probing question?. I answered to my monitor like a mad man. I feel like I'm going partly crazy, just please put in an annotation for others. To space out viewings and watch it when you're fresh. It feels so bad watching it the way I did. I just hope your video can lift my spirits. I'll edit an update in if so. Edit: It did until the end, I'm sorry my high school theater knowledge wasn't up to snuff for you. This whole experience has been unpleasant. I'm going to bed.
But honestly, did Wham City think that, to save Juglet, someone would: 1. Know all of the answers to Frank's lovecraftian riddles 2. Write them all down to save for a later episode 3. Stay around untill the confrontation between Frank and Juglet 4. Be lucky enough to call and tell frank the answers
Seeing a Night Mind upload is like getting a text to hang out from a friend whose company you really enjoy, but who you don't get to spend time with very often.
Great insights, as so often in your analysis of the odd! In spite of others commenting you do not come of as a teacher, I see that quality in you. Looking at a mystery, analyzing all angles and perspectives and struggling to actually *communicate* your insights in a way that makes a change in how someone else sees the world, are, I think, qualities every teacher should possess. And no one ever said teachers have to stop being students. Great work!
I have a bunch of scattered unfinished thoughts about Cry of Mann. One of my first reactions was how unrealistic the acting was (not criticism). This combined with the minimalist set and proscenium set-up makes you extremely aware that you're watching a show. Tanking Mann does this even more. It feels like the project is about making art: who creates, who influences, and who watches. The Jack plot's there obviously, and the Adult Swim cancelling debacle. The Ghost Lady is The audience member Trool Day is when a thing ends. When we first see the title of the show, "The Cry of Mann: A Trool Day Holiday Spectacular In Eight Parts" we are immediately aware of the end coming. All the characters are also waiting for Trool Day to come. The Tank Mann's answers to the questions during Trool Day are exactly what it's like when a show is cancelled. What do you think it means? When's the last time you cried? The viewer is left providing their own answers. I think orange IS the color out of space, but in this context "out of space" is anything beyond the world of the show. That's viewers, people that have died, the whole show during Trool Day/the ending. Anyway, i might connect or abandon some ideas when i get a chance to rewatch it, who's to say
It was so awesome to watch this live. I didn't have access to phone service at the time but if I did I would have would have called tons since I often do with other adult swim stuff like fish center.
Mann... I majorly regret not being able to watch this series when it first aired now. I'm even disappointed that I put off watching this video of yours, Nick, until after everything else (except the How to Make a Web Series videos). I guess I'll have to keep a lookout for Wham City coming to Kansas City!
I agree with other people, I don't think of you as a teacher or mentor or me being a student More of a friend, and wanting to be included and help out. Get closer and know you better, like a friend :3 And that's it before I ramble for like 10 paragraphs how he's like a friend to me and I wanna be friends XD
Ghostgirl 708 you are a loyal consistant fan of night mind and i see you everywere and so dose alot of other people ive noticed.. .............. I hope you too, Contract Lynks :)
A big part of this that I think may not have been given it's due is that art in and of itself is an act of communication. The Martinez line about art being like a document really seemed an attempt to drive that notion home. Creation, expression, experience, interpretation... in every interaction one or more of these links in the chain was missing. Even good portions of some of the monologues dealt with the gulfs between vision, perspective and perception that exist in an individual.

Well put.
beanstheclown interesting take, I was kinda in a gray area about wether the calls are good or bad, because just like many thought, these calls interrupted the flow of the show which frustrated me and a lot of the viewers, but if it hadn’t been for the calls, there wouldn’t have been a chance to show the details that otherwise wouldn’t have been touched by the characters.
i think the cake metaphor was just so nick could use the "shut up and eat your cake" bit from catghost.
"do you have any idea who you're talking to?"

Nah, you just become his slave. That's how I work at least...
@David B I was gonna make that joke, but its 2020 and I'm hella late, but it's still funnny. hehe
I was watching a night mind video, but then I saw that night mind uploaded a new video

Love watching these hour long videos while playing video games like Slime Rancher and Minecraft. A stream of one's opinion and analysis with a smooth voice.
Also love that you included Pan Pizza's utter public self-humiliation, still can't believe they verbally executed that man on a live stream.
Same!! It relaxes me alot
I fucking love reasonable criticism delivered politely and with humility. A+
Thank you for making such a comprehensive video!
"Trains are cool."
Robby Rackleff also thinks that way too. He has a genuine love of trains and is a legit railfan. I think the trains in 'Cry of Mann' are simply set dressing by an enthusiast.
He literally has an Instagram post captioned "I fucking love trains"
@@thorn99thorn hey there!
Orange, chakra color for pleasure and sensual energy. Blue, throat chakra color for communication and interpretations. Interesting choices of color
Also orange is the opposite of blue on the color wheel
Jack Brown Yeah, they happen to contrast very well. See, for instance, any given AAA video game's cover art. You gotta have the blue on the left and the orange on the right! It highlights the MC's _deep characterization_
SEE ALSO: Blue and orange morality
y'know like that stuff things in the Cthulhu mythos use
Am I the only one who caught that Alan Resnick has "yucky ear", a clear reference to THHPII?
I noticed that as well
*sigh* THHPII fanboys
Somebody pointed that out in a call and he kinda just ignored it lol
As someone who called in to Berry at I relatively unimportant time, I still felt like I should’ve been more prepared. It’s hard, you know you’re about to be broadcasted to a few thousand and you know you’re going to get bullied in the chat if you mess up. It was a weird experience and I dropped the ball, but it was still fun.
Everyone thought I was a woman when I caleed

I also noticed that in Unedited Footage of a Bear, the guy that gets arrested looks a lot like the dude with the orange teeth.
Not only that but in UFOAB, text in the bottom appears saying, "See our magazine about Tables and Chairs"

Please try again, Wham City! We'll get it right next time.
I'm watching the series now, but I really like their opening. It almost has a Twin Peaks kind of vibe. Now I just wish I can buy that song.
I do not understand how you could connect this with a titty bar.
that pan pizza clip is now a true classic

the amount of effort Nick puts into his videos is what keeps me alive tbh
For myself with my horrendous social anxiety, the idea of a live performance and the possibility of my interaction ruining the production? I had to take my meds just to calm down enough to write this clearly. No thank you, no, never. Glad you all enjoyed it. Never heard of Glass Menagerie and now I'm torn with terror to even look it up, even if it's the only way I'll understand all this stuff.
Riffler Underhill The glass menagerie is merely a slice of life play by Tennessee Williams. Its not horror related or interactive... personally I found it a bit dull compared to Williams' works.
there is no understanding. there is only battle machine courtney.
You know, Nightmind, you really are at the top of the class when it comes to analyzing strange and horrific fiction. Good work!
I don't think this was the kind of Cartoon Network cameo Pan was begging for...

I've been waiting!!! I tried calling in, I was never answered to. I think the blue and orange is definitely something to think about.
Yes yes 100 times yes
My phone was on 2% when the notification for this came on
I ran upstairs to my charger and hit my hip on a door handle
It was worth it
Am I the only one who gets a Twin Peaks vibe with this?

Yeah that was my first thought
No, definitely. Its very twin peaks
more like the SNL parody skit of Twin Peaks, breh
"What's the last name of the man named Obed?"
"Nadir?"
Lmao omg, I found my favorite caller
And Obed is a reference to Obed Marsh from the Cthulhu mythos
I love your interpretations. They always add so much meaning that I missed. I seriously adored this show. I feel super privileged that my art got used in the last four episodes. I absolutely love this channel and I love Wham City!
Thank God for the random girl I met on a forum site for introducing me to HP Lovecraft. I picked up the references for the books I "read" via audiobook.
Binge watched your vids all evening & I just realized my legs actually hurt from absent mindedly & anxiously shaking them for hours
I was waiting for you to use the clip of Pan and I wasn’t disappointed
I will never. NEVER. Forget the first time I watched The Cry of Mann. Also, Cricket's soliloquy absolutely put me in the ground.
Pan would make a terrible elder god.
*amazing
"Expectations are your enemy" - super powerful quote. Keep being your thought-provoking, inspiring self Nick!
(to the beginning of the video)
Honestly Nick, I always thought of you as a mama bird figure ( no matter how ironic that is).
Nick says H.P Lovecraft and I scream "I FUCKING KNEW IT"
IA!
I think the callers were as exactly as coordinated as you can reasonably expect random people from random parts of the world to be able to cooperate with each other at a moments notice.
Thank you for this extensive awesome video (as usual) from you! I'm so happy to be a Patron of yours!
im so glad to ahve been a part of this, no matter how small :>
I wouldn't call you a teacher per say more like, an awesome creepy uncle. You sit us down around the campfire that is our screens and tell us tales of horror and wonder while also giving us your own interpretations of things that are not clearly shown. Also I do have to say your videos are absolutely MARVELOUS for writing inspiration.
I loved how watching this felt like watching a theatrical play. It was just an overall enjoyable experience ... aside from the callers, oh boy.
regular person: I watch adult swim for rick and morty.
I hope Wham City does something like this again so we can do it right this time.
"The gift of communication, the ability to wait"

This is why I love you Nick and why I subscribed to the channel, you never cease to amuse me in the ways you can open up a new video. XD
I was waiting for that beautiful moment with Pan to come up, I'm so glad you found a way to get it in there somehow, Nick.
I literally had to read/preform a scene from The Glass Menagerie a few weeks ago. Crazy coincidence.
New Night Mind? My weekend just became so much better. Thanks Nick!
But honestly, did Wham City think that, to save Juglet, someone would:
1. Know all of the answers to Frank's lovecraftian riddles
2. Write them all down to save for a later episode
3. Stay around untill the confrontation between Frank and Juglet
4. Be lucky enough to call and tell frank the answers
Seeing a Night Mind upload is like getting a text to hang out from a friend whose company you really enjoy, but who you don't get to spend time with very often.
“Cake isn’t even that far off from pie.”
Alright, you’ve gone too far. I used to respect you man, what happened?
Legit, soon as my kid goes to bed I'm watching this. I'm so freaking excited I could cry. I will come back with afterthoughts! ❤
Great work!
Closed captions call _Cry of Mann_ 'Crime Man' and I'm here for it
Perfect timing ! Listening to your videos helps me focus and relax while doing 3D modeling work! And a great video once again👌
YES! My favorite creepy and intriguing content creator is back!
I can see lots of hard work and dedication Nick! Great job :)
This series was so fucking good
I have a bunch of scattered unfinished thoughts about Cry of Mann.
The Ghost Lady is The audience member
Trool Day is when a thing ends.
Difference between a lake and the sea?
What lies at the bottom.
That Pan Pizza plug
I really need to get around to watching the archives, I love Wham City!
"I'm lifting my mug and saying 'Where's the f**cking coffee?'" I laughed so hard!
I agree with other people, I don't think of you as a teacher or mentor or me being a student
More of a friend, and wanting to be included and help out. Get closer and know you better, like a friend :3
And that's it before I ramble for like 10 paragraphs how he's like a friend to me and I wanna be friends XD
Ghostgirl 708 you are a loyal consistant fan of night mind and i see you everywere and so dose alot of other people ive noticed..
..............
I hope you too, Contract Lynks
:)
As a non watcher of live tv, I appreciate you giving me something new to check out.
I learned from this experience that I really enjoy Tank Mann's voice.
40:41 sounds like the questions in live forever as you are.
As a first time patron Nick Nocturne🐱 this is AWESOME!!!😊
