Absolutely add that one to the list it's a great hike! Can only imagine how much better it would be in the clear sunshine. Great to meet you mate, hope you had a great hike and had no troubles. Take care and happy hiking!
Thankyou soo much mate, glad you enjoyed! It definitely could have been better with walk in/ out clips but my little tripod broke on the way up so couldn't any elevated captures. Same again for equipment, it's soo convenient having a small GoPro for shoot and point but definitely lacking visibility and audio quality.
Hi Mate Ive watched your video a few times now. Its one of my favourite Hinchenbrooke videos. I was wondering what date did you do your hike? I did mine 1st week of April 2024 at the end of a very wet week. A lot of water flowing and a mixture of rain and sunshine. I found the wet was the highlight of the hike for me. Although Mulligan Falls campsites were mostly flooded and unusable. I did manage to find one patch of semi dry ground fortunately. Sorry your hike was less enjoyable, but i still think you got to see the island in its glory. I've spoken to people who have done it closer to the end of the season in the dry and walked two days before they could find fresh water. Anyway cheers for the video 😊
G'day Dave, thanks so much! yes it was quite the wet trip. I went a year later around xmas when the island was almost empty and spent an extra day at Zoe Bay. It was as wet but also had added humidity mixed in making the swims so much worth it. We also got invited out fishing with a friendly boat crew we met at the Zoe Bay campsite which was unexpected. We went the first week in July 2020 and the second trip was the Xmas long weekend 2021. That summer was really wet so no worries securing potable water the whole way down. Big thanks for watching, appreciate it and good to hear it's still being seen and helpful all these years later.
@RyanNichols888 thanks for the info Ryan. I imagine a wet trip in July would have been colder than my trip. My trip was still reasonably humid so I was swimming/dunking in anything deep enough along the way to cool off despite the rain.
I had a very wet trip over there in October 2018. It was an experience that’s for sure very mentally & physically challenging, also my first multiday hike. I’m taking my son over there for his 10th birthday at the end of March. Praying for good weather but will be packing for the worst just in case this time.
This was my first multi day hike too, what a place to have as your first hey! Definitely mentally challenging in the wet, nothing worse than packing up with constant rain.... Enjoy the hike in March, hopefully it will be sunny :D Thanks for the comment!
Great footage! Best video so far the shows a lot of the trail. Really enjoyed it. Thanks 😊
Thank you Ryan awesome video that you made very helpful tips Thank you we are off to do this trip shortly
No worries Connie, thanks for watching and your comment. Hopefully you get great weather. Take plenty of mozzie spray and enjoy
Epic-just got back from it. Took an extra day rest at Zoe bay. didn't have your brutal rain though-awesome effort
Great plan to spend the extra day there, could spend all week at Zoe Bay 👌 Lucky to not have any rain, well done 👍
Thanks for making this video - was great to watch and listen to your tips
Just found your Hinchinbrook video, good one and i will add it to my list. Have met you last week at the beginning of my 5 day Canarvon Gorge hike.
