All of these Inspired by Gibson models are great, but why Epiphone do you continues to ignore the original...
When are we getting a Les Paul Gold top with P90's, could be year specific '54 or '57, or just give us a 'LP Standard 50's.
If Gibson just started making Epiphones with the “Open Book” headstock for all Epiphones in general , the sales would be through the roof!
Crazy that it took them this long to figure that out.
They will get there eventually. Probably in a couple years after the sales of these goes down and something else gets popular.
@@user-my4bq2mh4j Crazy is the fact that it makes such a big difference to anyone. You don't play the headstock.
well its smarter of them to retain the epiphone headstock for lower end models so people would buy the higher end ones.. people are suckers for headstock shape..
@musicequalslife agree, I'm picking s couple of these up directly.
A ES-335 in gloss cherry red, slightly aged binding, rosewood fretboard with mini block inlays, standard open book headstock, nickel hardware, green keystone tuners and 59 profile neck would be my dream Epiphone 🤟
That Alpine White Les Paul Custom will be mine... oh yes, it will be mine.
Yes, I really fancy that one too. But I wonder just how fat the new fatter neck is? The 'slim taper' predecessor felt a little but odd, so fatter is good, but let's wait and see....
Schwing!
Wonder why they don’t have the Custombuckers in the Les Paul Custom?
@@1992YR Because the Gibson version of that guitar comes with the 490R 498T combo, so I guess they're trying to make it as a sort of replacement.
Ebony will be mine ha
Still waiting for a run of 50s gold tops.
YES! With medium jumbo frets, for me!
They're next.
Buy a Used 50’s tribute Gibson its cheaper………..and will be actually worth something if you ever sell it.
@OakLawnSpeedShop a 50's tribute isn't going to have a gloss nitro finish anyway, and "Tribute" level Gibson NEVER go up in value... they sell on reverb for less than what they cost new.
I got one of the first run 1959 les Paul's and I love it. I truly think it's a great thing that we are seeing both Epiphone and Squier making instruments that are affordable and more often then not better quality then instruments selling for a lot more. I disagree with people who say that your paying Gibson prices for a lesser guitar it's true that you are paying what you would for a low end Gibson costs but for what you get you would have to pay much more i do agree that some of the ascetic improvements should be made throughout epiphone but these instruments are incredible value for the money.
Minor detail, but having a shot of the inside of the electronics cavity was huge for me!! Thanks!!! These are awesome!!
Gibson: PLEASE DITCH THE LAUREL. Just go with indian rosewood please.
They won`t. Just look at the comments here. People are all raving about how great these guitars are, and they will buy them. Why should Gibson upgrade, if they sell anyway?
For this price range I def expect Rosewood and Ebony where appropriate. Hell, I'd expect that if everything was $200 less across the board (Which will be what these will start selling for in a year when they're still in stock)
Get some black shoe polish, end result, Laurel that looks like rosewood or ebony. Just saying, color is the only difference, don’t effect the sound quality or playability
WOW, can’t Believe how good the acoustics sound AMAZING!
If I spend Murphy Lab money, it ain’t getting stuck at the house, I’m playing that guitar everywhere I go! 😂😂
Right! Otherwise why even spend the money.
Not me. I’ve had friends whose equipment was stolen. Imagine being so defiant and having a $8700 ES-355 come up missing…. Why gig with something you need to be watching 24/7? Get one of these and stress less. Seems like common sense to me
Thank you. For the past 534 years all we’ve asked for was the headstock. We can deal with the rest. So thank you 🙏🏽
Hope these don't go away. I wouldn't mind them all TBH
FOR REAL!! 💯💯💯💯
Absolutely gorgeous collection of guitars. It’s a new day for Epiphone. Oh, and great demos by Dinesh. I’m thinking the J-180 is the sleeper of the acoustics. Lovely sound.
Excellent collection. It’s been a long time coming.
I can’t wait to hit some stores and find a few to check out.
I see the guitar I’m getting. Can’t wait for my birthday!!!
Thank you Gibson! I was saving up for a Greeny because I wanted the Open Book headstock but now I can get that Open Book headstock a bit cheaper now! All of them are so beautiful I’m not sure which one to choose from! One of my favorite guitarist is Jimmy Page so I might have to try and recreate his number one with that Factory Burst and some gold Grover tuners!
If you’re a Jimmy Page fan Gibson just started collaborating with him to make Jimmy Page signature guitars. If they do what they did with the Kirk Hammett Greeny and Adam Jones Silverburst I think we might see a Jimmy Page signature Epiphone Les Paul down the pipeline.
I had to use an Oval Sander to get the Open Book on my 2020 Epi LP- THANK YOU for now having them on these models!
That 355 looks amazing! This really is an amazing value for the money. Based on the quality of my Epi 58 Korina V, and 150th Anniversary Sheraton I know these are going to be amazing. I'll have to get a couple of these! Would love to see a 1956 LP in GoldTop and Ebony with cream P90s, and a CS-359
Great job on these Gibson! I’m impressed. 👍🏾🙌
I thought Vos meant vintage original spec not vintage original sheen.
You guys are something else. You have asked for Gibson like headstocks for years and closer appointments to Gibson originals, epiphone goes out and gives it to you and you have to come up with a few more reasons to crap on them. I say job well done epiphone and don’t listen to those who will never be satisfied.
Since you’ve asked, I do have one i would love to see in the next batch perhaps… the epiphone inspired by jimmy page EDS-1275 double neck guitar. Would love to see what you do with that one. Rock on 🤘
Well said!!
I'm glad they finally put the right headstock to the whole lineup 🤘
Just the top tier priced line up, the other Epi’s still have the previous headstock
I love the SG Custom 😍
I just bought the Custom Tuxedo and can't wait to get my hands on it. I'm never ashamed to say I play Epiphones. Keep up the great work. I'd like to see a sparkly green or purple LP with P90's from this line.
I hope the guitar serves you well, Dana!
That '59 Les Paul will be hanging in my studio by year's end.
Nice Dinesh! Epiphone making a nice push up a tier. I think I like the ES-355 and the Firebird I & V.
What if I told you I could have reprogrammed the CNC machine in China to do the headstock without increasing the price by 58%?
Witch!
@@aperezdeal 😆
The older models were 999 USD, with the new ones being 1299. That’s only a 30 percent increase in price. 189 of those dollars can be attributed to the custom shop humbuckers, leaving 111 USD for the headstock. So I guess the headstock is only worth an 11 percent increase in price.
Please go back to ROSEWOOD !!
@@TzebbLIsla I'm sure they are referring to the models that come with laurel standard, not the other models that come with Ebony.
@@TzebbLIsla Have you been sleeping under a rock and not paid attention to anything for the past decade or so?
Rosewood is being used less and less for some restriction thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Gibson themselves started using laurel on Gibson models and save rosewood for the custom shop ones as they are in limited quantity.
Laurel i think is actually rather nice. And you can stain them if you'd like a darker finish :)
@@itslikethesamebutdifferent8020 Hard to say that when EVERY PRS has rosewood even on their cheapest SE models.
The green Firebird sounds amazing
These look so great! The white LP custom and ES355 are my faves 😮💨
Glad you like them!
A ES 390 with P90 pick up in slightly aged vintage sunburst, standard open book headstock of course.
These are awesome! Just ordered the Les Paul custom and es 355! Both in white. As someone who has m2m Gibsons and a Gibson Les Paul custom from 94. These are definitely going to be great guitars to bring on the road and use! Been a fan of Epiphone for a long time and always wanted them to use Gibson headstock with detail to the parts! Only thing I say is you missed the mark with a 1960 dc jr to the line up. As Epiphone doesn’t offer a double cut jr. Maybe next line?
Just ordered the exact same thing from Sweetwater! Should be here tomorrow! Enjoy!
That white 1963 SG Custom reminds me of Peter Frampton's SG Custom that he played in Humble Pie. Beautiful!
I LOVE what Epiphone's been doing recently, I think I might purchase more Epis in the future 😅
No love for the Juniors or Specials? C'mon Epiphone. Show the student models some love. An even lower price point with the open book head stock and I'm in.
You just know they’d charge $1,500 for an SG Jr in this line up.
Fingers crossed for a custom shop Explorer with binding.
Damn that's some good demoing, quality riffing 🤘
The 355. My absolute dream guitar.
Great job 👏
These are truly magnificent guitars. just a question. what is the title of the piece you play at 2:40 because I would really like to learn it. Thanks a lot.
Wow! SOLD!
I'm taking the 63 SG and the 59 ES-355, very nice guitars. SPOT ON!
Am I missing something here? What's the difference over the previous 59 model? Just the pickups and headstock? Dropped the ball here by using the satin finish and Indian Laurel board. Ignore the CTS pots and Mallory Caps etc, that all costs pennies to install.
This is all marketing fluff.
Nah...I will not "ignore"...these are pretty cool offerings, and the prices are pretty fair. Esp for the 335 & SG. I like having options when it comes to making decisions on guitar purchases. Well done Epiphone!!
They use satin finish to cut costs and cut weight. Epiphones are typically heavier than their gibson counterpart. Partially due to encasing the guitars in a thick plastic shell. That shell protects the guitars from damage, but is heavier and make the guitars provide less tactile response.
@musicequalslife these are just being released..bud. I've had a half-dozen recent epiphones, including the '59 with gibson burstbuckers. Sent two back to get one that wasn't faulty. It was the only one with satin finish at the time. It was heavy as a brick. Most Gibson 59s were not heavy and didn't have baseball bat necks. Why is it always the people with zero videos of them playing who are the most rude?
@@RickMcCargaridk about the weight thing but supposedly the original 59 les Pauls did have a baseball bat like neck which is why joe Walsh sanded his down and why jimmy page loved it so much that he bought it.
@BulkHogan69 The new epiphones come with custombuckers which cost 500$ so if you bought just a regular epiphone les paul and put custombuckers in it, you are already at the asking price for these new guitars without even getting any of the other major upgrades like neck tenon upgrades, electronics, gibson hardware. Yea Id say it's definitely worth it, even more so when these start hitting the used market.
Very interesting boost for epiphone!
Sirs, the "pay what you want" feature does not appear to be working on your website. Please have CS reach out to me. Thanks.
Having issues measuring the locaion of the bridge OR the bridge P.U.
These will sound a bit more mellow then the real deal (with the same P.U.'s)
I want one of each, definitely a Ice Tea Les Paul, SJ-200, and a red Firebird, can't wait. I love my Greeny Les Pauls, I have 2 of them and 3 '59's that I hotrodded with Dimarzio's and Duncan's
Isn't the whole selling point on these is the electronics? If you're upgrading the pickups what's the difference between the R9 or a standard that costs half the price? Just the construction?
1:30 Long neck tenons?! That's friggin amazing! I knew about the USA electronics but long neck tenons on these I didn't know about. That really is custom shop level stuff. I love knowing the neck pickup is bolted right on top of that neck joint for that extra ping/sustain from the neck vibration.
FINALLY!!! been dreaming this since 2014...
Love the Inspired selection. Amazing gor the prices.
Don’t know why they keep calling it a VOS finish when these are just satin/matte. The VOS finish is nitro and just isn’t buffed out to a high polish, but it is still glossy…
Little polish will shine them up just right.
@@user-gp7zt7uq2y still ain’t a VOS finish. Don’t know why they advertise it as that. VOS stands for vintage original spec - poly satin finishes are not vintage spec 😭😭
@@brendenrodgers7821 Nonsense. Gibson Custom Shop offers their core finish options, one of them being VOS (Vintage Original Sheen). Standard on Custom Shop Historic Reissue models. Parts are lightly aged for authentic vintage patina. Finish is buffed to a light matte appearance. Educate yourself.
They calm it that as that’s what it is. VOS (Vintage Original Sheen) finishes, have a gently aged appearance, with lightly dulled gloss nitrocellulose finishes and some patina on the hardware. Gibson Custom Shop uses it all the time on their Historical lines.
@@automatoncollectives7237 buddy you just reworded my original comment. A vos finish is nitro buffed to a light sheen/semi gloss - and a simple google search will let you know that VOS stands for vintage original spec (no idea where you got sheen from lol) time for YOU to go do some research
I love Epiphone! Please consider bringing back the '56 Les Paul Pro with P-90s from 2014.
They are cool guitars but the big increase in price is a little concerning. Epiphones are supposed to be affordable yet this 2024 range is that same price as low end Gibsons 🤔
They will help folks get into a Gibson rather than pay Gibson price for an EPI! 🤦🤔
For what you get they are affordable. Amazing guitars for the price. I know because my tuxedo custom just arrived yesterday and it's taken everything I've thrown at it.
I bought the inspired by Gibson les Paul junior 2020. Swapped the p90 out for an Seymour Duncan antiquity. Sanded the poly off the neck…gave it a set up and the guitar rips. Sustain for days.
Fantastic!!! Yep, keep my R8 at home and take out the Epi 59 LP !!!
That SG is sweet
Looks ok. Will wait a year to see some real world reviews
It would be nice if they made the LP custom body shapes accurate to a Gibson like they did on the ‘59 models
I am already inquiring about the ebony J180!!!
Thanks for all the lefty offering's Epiphone...appreciate that
They keep them next to the left handed pianos.
@@aperezdealBest comment I’ve heard in a while.
I hope they do a Cream custom, and a 50s Goldtop
aight the sg is a must-buy for me..
That ES-355 is my next guitar!
Great GREAT review thank you for the info - EPIPHONE has really upped their game - I LOVE EPIPHONE 🎸🎸🎸
Rock on!
I love and I like it.
Oh the headstock
I think these guitars are awesome and I still want that alpine white Les Paul custom.
I hope they do a leftie ❤
Will any of these be available left handed?
Firebird VII please, with the CORRECT headstock
If the customs had a 60s slim taper I would of bought it in a heartbeat, damn man I waited 5 years for this.
I’m so looking forward to this guitar. Gibson Custom Shop offers their core finish options, one of them being VOS (Vintage Original Sheen). Standard on Custom Shop Historic Reissue models. Parts are lightly aged for authentic vintage patina. Finish is buffed to a light matte appearance.
They’re winning at everything for sure. Great looking and sounding guitars. Just the price they need to get real with
Oh my god!!!! GIBSON BROS!!!! I’m going to be able to buy my son the closest thing to a Gibson with these Guitars. Thank you!!! ❤❤❤❤
Fantastic ❤
Don’t forget the late 90s Japan Epiphones already had the open book headstock with one piece necks, real maple top, and mahogany bodies. I’m glad they finally brought the specs back!! That Headstock is really gonna make me play so much better now lol 😮😅😂
Liking that green Firebird. I already own the 58 Korina Explorer, what a great guitar,
;0
Good choice!
The j200 will be mine!
about damn time
That White ES-335 is giving me Alex Lifeson vibes. Very tempting.
That's an ES-355 ;)
The ebony custom LP and the custom SG are PrimeO😁👏👍
This will always be a Hot button topic Epiphone/ Gibson. Do what I do. Own both. Problem solved ( At least for me)🎶
That 57 Sj sounds like the real deal it smoked the j45
WOW! simply WOW
Bought the sunburst J-200 today
Look, I hate price hikes like anybody else. But, the specs are VERY relevant here. You can still buy $600 Epiphones. That still exists. This new flood of medium tier pricing was shocking at first just because it has Epiphone on the headstock, but if you start figuring in the hardware and just the pickups alone, you're getting a very good guitar for a fair price. It is clear that Epiphone is diverging into a multi-tier priced manufacturer and is not going to just be the entry level guitar anymore. I still prefer my Epis over actual Gibsons that were triple the cost. There's a curve to acceptance, but it's going to be okay. Having said that, they're still out of their minds with some of the signature guitars, but that's a different animal.
Welcome to Biden economics
I want a flying V with a open book headstock in sliver shoulder burst
Rosewood? Almost everybody else is using rosewood on there import lines. Guess I'm nit picking?
No, it is completely justified
I have both Indian laurel and rosewood , no difference whatsoever. I think you might be nitpicking a bit there.
@@itslikethesamebutdifferent8020Definitely sounds like a snob, a lot of times can’t even tell the difference
@@ferminharris3826 agreed.
They all look gorgeous. Well spec'd and reasonably priced. Could gig these guitars harder than your pride-and-joy Gibson. And nice to see the J180 make an appearance too. Well done Epi 👍
I want a Dove and an ES355 with bigsby!
The 59 busrt baby!
Just ordered one of the first SG Custom's available in Canada;
Finally a nice sg custom with the correct headstock shape to balance it out 💘
Now i can stop looking for a lawsuit era SG
"One piece necks for stability" HA! 😂😂😂😂 good one!
I thought that was funny, too. I love how they try to puff up what is clearly an inferior element.
What about Chet Atkins SST,or maybe a LP acoustic/electric???
😢 if those 59 Les Pauls had a gloss finish
And rosewood fretboard, Not laurel! even ebony on the standard work have been better!
@@jamesseverin They probably have a huge stock of laurel that they need to use up.
Wouldn’t be a lot of work to polish that « VOS » to a gloss
@@fendafred it’s not just polishing, which I have done on mine, you have to sand and do a few coats of clear
@@kingdomfunding A good polishing will buff out the satin look but if you’re looking for a top notch job then that’s going to be a bit more work indeed 🙂
When he said long neck tendon, my eyes rolled in the back of my head and said why the hell didn’t my standard come with that
@musicequalslife yes you can on the 50s models, at least mine from 2020 had one
You can bet I WILL have an Epiphone LP SG!
Wow, hands down best guitars at the price point… All of them!
Epiphones are getting crazy with their prices! I mean they cost almost as much as my used 2008 Les Paul I bought a couple years ago for $1,600
@musicequalslifelol so many thing wrong in your statement
@musicequalslife Holy sh!t, You were so close to sounding sane.
I want the sg sooooooo bad! Need to do some creative accounting lol
I’m a little embarrassed at how excited I am for this.. 🤣🤣🤣 I’ve been wanting a custom for years but just wasn’t a fan of the headstocks but this.. BUT THIS!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
Lol same here
How many pieces is that LP custom "solid" mahogany body?
@musicequalslifewhere did you find this information? I can't find it anywhere
