I loved and played this wonderful piece of music when I was younger, my favorite one from Agustin Barrios. Other people would probably think different but this one is the best interpretation I'd ever heard. I understand very well what Kostas is feeling when playing and makes me discover new things thanks to his personal way of doing it.
Nice interpretation, no rush at all making the piece enjoyable to listen to. Good feeling at the delicate passages and good temper at the stronger parts, BRAVO. But I must correct you Barrios was definitely NOT Uruguayan, he was Paraguayan!!
yes thats why i think he used strange rubatos i just relearned this piece after 17 years , my personal favourite was and is JW for this piece, those rushes and halts right becore the very bard stretching is kinda changing the core of the piece for me he express virtuozity of course but he just slow down at bottle necks, the hardest part of this piece is always do strechinga without preparation end of 2 and end of 3rd part what he do with the thirs movement is very skilled but it is a totally different piece…
i agree with you bzeliotis. actually he loses the control of the rhythm as you say, because he makes many ritardandi, ritenuti, ralledandi and accelerandi where there s no need and cut it into pieces. also, his phrases have no direction.
He doesn't respect the rhythm... don't forget it's classical music. And the difficult of classical music is playing what the composer wrote with the better way, better expression : that's the definition of interpretation in classical musical. So what does "interpretation" mean for all of you when you say "beautiful interpretation", etc.. ? I love the way he plays, it's very hard to do it, and it's so beautiful, full of emotion.. but I can't say "beautiful interpretation" !
Agree, most other interpretations on UA-cam sound much better to me (I don't mean sound quality). Matter of taste of course, but this one is a bit... disturbing in some places.

Agustín Barrios nació en Paraguay, hay que avisarle...
he has such a great deep in his music, no demostration of virtuosity, knowing to handle rubato

NÃO TEM JEITO É O VISIONÁRIO!!! 😎👉👉
I can make a G and C chord now, is that a good start?
I've been practice this piece with my guitar teacher... We both agree our hands hurt afterward. There are definitively some nasty stretches in there.

a great guitar player ... but a version that i consider the best is the version of turibio Santos.... thank you for posting this video!
ナカナカイイネ、レガ―トに良く響いてる。
Keep practicing, almost there.
watch the raphael rabello version
a quei 10 che non piace toglierei il diritto di voto e anche di parola
I almost have the G major chord mastered, C major chord here I come…..
All those pauzes takes the flow away.
John Williams version for Choro de Saudade is all times BEST among the guitarists.

I find the rubato unbearable.... especially the rhythmic middle section. As if rubato is the only way to instill expression?
Excellent game, better than J.Williams. But J.C.Balbi plays even better, for my taste.
a great teacher but not how to play Barrios
says the unrecognizable random guitar youtube dude

Classical music allows for rubato, its an integral part of his interpretation. I like his performance but would agree in that its not my favorite.
ranaivoson nadia you are so wrong and you can not see why neither where
Rubato is one thing; gross exaggerations is another.
Amazing!!!!
