Every Bank Fisherman NEEDS This Accessory!

- I just picked up this new accessory for fishing from the bank! I get tired of lugging around a ton of fishing gear and wanted a better option for quick fishing trips. In this video, I try a local pond with my finesse & ultralight fishing gear. I caught several bass and a handful of sunfish too!
I used to carry my gear in a tackle bag. After a while using this, I changed over to a backpack or drawstring bag... Then I picked up this fanny pack and realized that this option is soooo much more practical! No it is not fashionable but is that necessary?! XD

I've been a big fan for over two years. I feel obligated to let you know there is never an ok time to wear that.
Hahaha sorry Travis it is here to stay! XD
HAHAHA!
I did the fanny pack for fishing thing back in the 90’s. Today I use a sling pack. It small so not like a full back pack and I can pull it around to the front to access without taking it off. But hey, whatever floats your boat. 😀
FANNY PACK 4 LIFE!
Hahahahaha, I was not expecting the pelvic thrusts. I laughed so loud it scared my 3 year old lol.
Haha yeah one of my best moments on UA-cam for sure.
Fly fisherman have been using them for years. Good stuff man! Making want to bust out some ultralight
True ^ them fly anglers are smart cookies! And I hope you do bust out the UL! They are the bee's knees.
Love the video and Fanny pack definitely looks like a good investment for sure because I definitely don’t like carrying a lot of gear when I’m fishing and I love the fishing line color you be using like the green line that looks very good to use
I LOVE hi-vis line! And the Fanny pack is a must for quick trips with minimal gear. They are cheap and get the job done!
Your Mule mini tackle box, a fanny pack, and a 2 piece ultralight rod/reel means I can ALWAYS have a full fishing kit ready to fish on me. 😎
Simple, yet effective! Those are always the most fun fishing trips. I think we often make things to complicated.
I've been rocking my asspack for years. Solid choice for light gear fishing.
😂 dang right
I got a fanny pack for wading and keeping hooks and jigs in. Hindsight being 20/20 if you're 5'7 and get into water over waist deep make sure you dry out your gear. I use a Plano 3600 Weekender backpack for bank fishing and a vest for wading. Not giving up on the fanny pack yet.
The Fanny may not be the perfect option for all anglers but it works well enough for me! Quick, light, and easy
Lol love the extra at the end dude. I actually have a camo mountain dew one I won from Casey's general store that I use for fishing. It makes a great way to store your Texas rig supplies and baits!!!
Haha glad you liked that part. And sounds like you have a more hip fanny pack than me. Mine is boring XD
I love the poses at the start! Hahahaha!!! Not a bad idea either
I had fun with it :)
Never thought of trying fanny pack! I was thinking about a sling pack or fly fishing vest.
Also great options. I like the fanny pack because it is small and easy, but it is all about personal preference.
CLEARLY it’s not about fashion 😂 I can’t get down with the fanny pack myself (I use a small sling bag for bank fishing) but I love your confidence & sense of fun!
Haha I believe in you! Fanny Pack 4 Life :)
i live right by the surf and pier, and keep a walmart fanny pack in my truck with fishbites and a panfish magnet kit, always ready to go.
Smart man!
The fanny pack is a good idea!! I have one that I have not used in years. I will have to get it out and try it!
Darn right you will JP!
The Fanny pack is my go to when walking the bank, it’s so convenient!
Can't beat it!
If you want to spend a bit more and definitely get what you pay for, I would HIGHLY recommend the Maxpedition Versipack. I say this in the context of ultralight fishing, but they also have items in this line that would do for any angler who wanted to go the route of a cross-body bag. I find it much more comfortable than a fanny-pack and you can sling it behind you making it darned near unnoticeable. I have had mine for about ten years, used it several times a week the entire time, and there is not a stitch that has frayed. They are very water resistant and the main compartment has an additional water resistant membrane with a cinch closure. I have never had water intrusion due to even heavy rain. The compartments vary in size and configuration for everything from a couple mini-tackle cases, bug spray, a jar of “Gulp”, to a zippered small place on the front flap for your various and sundry licenses. Heck, you can even accessorize it for CCW. If you haven’t noticed I think you should get one.
Looks like a really cool design - thank you for sharing!!
I love a fanny pack
I use one all the time when i bank or river fish.
Its very versatile. A couple of small tackle boxes, tools, keys and wallet.
I'm good to go.
EXACTLY! We are on the same page :)
I like the fanny pack idea. I use a very large backpack for most of my gear but is def not needed for each session. Good tip, besides it looking silly. Simms makes an overkill fanny pack for fly fishing that I'm sure would work amazing at apx $145.00 FYI
Heck yeah Jacob! Yeah the Simms is nice I’m sure but this $20 fanny pack does just fine :)
Nice. Sight fishing looks like so much fun. I need to find a place like that here.
Yeah sight fishing is definitely one of my favorite ways of catching. Find yourself some clear water with shallow vegetation and make it happen!
I have a fanny pack I've used on occasion (it's camo and looks super cool and it works awesome) but I use a fly vest with built in pack just cause of camera gear. You crushed it 2 times around. The bass were all over your finesse presentations and the mule jig. Loved the dance 🤣😂
Haha glad you enjoyed it Fitz! Yeah I would like the fly vest but It makes a chest cam a bit less comfortable to wear (covers up some of the pockets). I am all about looking goofy and rocking the fanny :)
You be sporting a cool goofy buddy 😁
Love this video. I've been using a fanny pack for about 15 to 20 years and love it..
Thanks - glad to hear you also enjoy a simple little fanny pack!
Amen. This with some zipper mesh sleeves for the baits. Pure money! Boys and I always have the Fannypack!!
FANNY PACK BROS!
This video is great timing. I just got a coyote brown Fanny pack yesterday as an early birthday gift. It’s made by Piscifun and is only $14.99. It is actually tough looking and looks like it belongs there as a fishing pack. Great video Ethan!
Awesome! Sounds like you will be fishing in style soon :)
I like the LL Bean Rapid River pack vest.
I’ll have to check it out!
I love that beautiful pond! I’m like you...I like to bring minimal luggage...that tree looks juicy! Got him! Neko! Got him! Beautiful catches! A lot of fun! Very entertaining as always! I didn’t comment play-by-play this video...BABAAM!!
BABAAAAAAM! Fun day of fishing!
So true on braid to mono. I use 15lb Smackdown and love it to a 8lb stren mono
10 & 15 lb braid are both a dream to fish with. Love them!
I use a backpack mostly in the summer. That's cuz I'm carrying a drink and snack too lol. I have the piscifun sling bag. Perfect bag. It's not big. I carry a 3600 with some terminal and other baits, few bags of soft plastics, extra leader line, and pliers. Maybe a scale lol. I'll use a fanny pack if I'm literally taking just one rod and real and throwing like 2 baits. Like a wacky and ned.
That is totally fair! Sounds like a cool system! Just depends on your style of fishing. For me, I want to have great style on the water and I usually only fish for 1-2 hours from the bank so a fanny pack is perfect :)
Wooo-wee!! You could spray paint it green or whatever color you like! Enjoy the cold beverage bud!
Nice video 🎣🇿🇦
I just extend the straps as long as I can on mine and sling it over my shoulder, this also helps with my nearsightedness. the only thing I'd highly recommend that I learned from fanny-pack fishin' is getting yourself a pair of 6-8" forceps, not only do they fit in the smallest of fish-mouths but you can just clamp them on the outside of the pack for even more super quick one-handed access. I actually have 3 different fanny packs I use, a mostly empty one just for quick pick rando trips, a fully dedicated one for trout, and another slightly larger one loaded for general purpose fishing anywhere with a pack rod & reel for like going right from work or something like that so it'll fit in say an employee locker... . . . or in packed/cramped transportation like a bus or plane.
Frank - you have got this thing down! I need to step my fanny pack game up :)
@@FishAnything lol it's just that fanny packs at salvation army/goodwill stores are always $uper ¢heap and plentiful, originally it was something I resorted out of necessity!
I honestly wish we were back in the 80’s and it was popular to wear them in every walk of life 🤷🏻♂️
Lol just pretend it is the 80's and don't care what others say.
@@FishAnything did we just become best friends… yep! Lol
I've been searching for the right fanny pack, also @15:03 priceless
Lol glad you appreciated that
I use one when bank fishing, been using it for some time now.
Simple yet effective!
You can buy those o rings and tools to put on the whacky rigs to stop you from losing a worm evey cat h. Cabelas have them
Yeah I definitely need to buy one of them. I have been lazy and quite frankly don't toss a wacky rig much.
Fannie pack works great wrapped around the legs on my kayak seat. Puts my pliers, scissors, etc right between my legs for very easy access.
That is a great idea! Thanks for sharing :)
@@FishAnything Hope it helps......Least I could do. I learned the Ned Rig from you. One of my favorite lures these days.
An o-ring tool definitely helps keep your worm on. Especially throwing Yamamotos it will save you money in the long run
Definitely need to pick one up!
Lol
Nothing wrong with fanny pack. I have about 5. Ha ha. 2 are for fishing only. I use when I'm going exploring for new spots are just want to leave in car w ultralight rod. It's very convient! There's one at Wal-Mart w 2 bottle holders. Check it out. You can carry your brewskees lol
Haha love it! Might need to get a brewski pack soon 🤠🕺🏼
I’d still stay with a backpack 😅 I’m in college so it feels weird not having a backpack on, plus I can carry scales and bug spray and water bottles easier
Fair enough! But you gotta admit the Fanny pack is fashionable.
Boom bang bing bow! 😂
I am a strange cat, what can I say.
If you gently pop the neko constantly throughout the retrieve it looks like something feeding on the bottom.
Btw fanny packs make me feel like I have a foopa. No one wants a foopa.
I catch 1-2 lbers on ultralight all the time that's one of the best parts of having a super stunted private lake lol.
1) Totally agree about the Neko
2) Respect the fanny pack, respect the foopa
3) So much fun on the UL!
I think this would defo be a confidence building exercise.
FANNY PACK 4 LIFE!
Part of my EDC is a small lil molle type pouch I keep on my belt on my right side. Keep my knife, wallet, ect in there. But it would work great for this sorta thing too :) and not be a fanny pack lol so altho I get where your going "upgrading" to a small molle/tactical pouch on your belt would work great too and not be so silly looking lol
I like looking like a goof with my wonderful fanny pack. If you want to look cooler than me, stick to the molle pouch haha
Sounds like a solid setup!
@@FishAnything Cant hate on that kinda attitude! Keep up on making great content :)
I started using o-rings for my wacky rigs and hardly ever lose worms. Also switched from Yamamoto senkos and went to Yum Dingers. They aren't as brittle or expensive.
I've seen some UA-camrs say the YUM Dinger has trash movement, no quiver like authentic Senkos. What's your experience? BTW, I've NEVER bought a Yamamoto Senko, and truthfully don't fish my YUM Dingers hardly ever. I'm a finesse worm and grub/tube guy
Michael Fischer I’ve caught a ton of nice sized smallmouth on the yum dinger
@@michaelfischerbassmaster I've never had a problem with them. They catch fish just fine
I 100% agree about Yum Dingers. TBH these Yamamotos were some that I got free lol I ain't paying $7 for a pack of senkos. And yeah I definitely need to use the O Rings for my wacky rigs - been too lazy XD
Thanks
🤠👊🏽
This video inspired me to ditch my backpack and buy....a bandolier style pack that I wear across my chest.
Heck yeah! Hope it is working out for you :)
Dude I carry two tackle boxes and 4 rods just to throw a lot of lures around all day, I just can’t stick to a few options when I’m out all day on the water.
Nothing wrong with that either. Just depends on your fishing style and what you're looking to get out of the sport. For me, I like simplicity with bank fishing. I don't feel the need to lug around numerous rods and tackle because I know I will end up using one-two all day haha. I usually leave additional gear in my car as back-ups.
I must say downsizing the gear you carry is necessary. I have a carhartt Fanny pack that holds a good amount of gear and I can easily carry a rod or two and just sit one down near where I’m fishing. Within 15 feet of me at all times. 😂
Dang right! Gotta keep things efficient!
I have one as well
FANNY PACK 4 LIFE! Yes Dave yesssss!
I use a BW Sports fishing necklace with micro fly box for UL BFS
It's not a fanny pack. It is a waist-mounted tackle access system. They're great, and as stylish as I need to be.
Awesome comment
Well said :D
Haha I love how folks are replying to this. Jim I think you are on to something here!
the O Rings work well on saving the bait
Yeah I need to get some of them
Jimmy sent me here
Thanks Jimmy XD
Bing Bang Boom Pow! Haha
Haha I am glad folks got a good laugh out of that
I sure did! But on a serious note, that seriously cuts down on travel weight when fishing spots where you know what to expect and dont need to bring your entire fishing arsenal. I use a fanny pack when hunting for my extra clips and my snacks!
Felt those hip thrusts in my loins
lmaooooooo
would you get the same experience using a light action rod with 4 pound mono? or is ultralight that big of a difference. im using 1/32 oz jig heads
I think you can get a very similar experience with a Light. Especially with the 1/32oz yes. If you want to go lower than that, I’d say an UL will help a bit.
if you're going to go light over ultralight, make sure it's a fairly long rod, or you won't be casting very well with the lighter stuff
Hmm.. seems like all the kids in town have seen this video 🤔
Fanny packs everywhere
Haha yeah they are getting more popular again. Not sure why but I dig it for fishing :)
It definitely works well for fishing
Especially when you really don't need much like you mentioned
They've been back in style for awhile now!
Crazy how I got them same pliers
Plier buddies :D
the more manlier version - tactical military leg bag. Search them up on Amaz..something. The 80s want that fanny pack back. good vid though! :-)
FANNY PACK 4 LIFE! Although no joke those bags also look awesome. Probably should have considered that haha
Probably the only place a fanny pack is acceptable. As long as you don't bring a hacky sack along. 😅
Haha you don't need to worry about a hacky sack taking up space in my fanny. Ned Rigs ONLY XD
whats that first combo you used?
It is my Ned Rig Rod - discontinued G Loomis GL2 Mag Light 6'10 Drop Shot rod / Shimano Stradic Ci4
It is LEGIT for Ned Rigs and small finesse
When can we expect the Mule Fishing Co. branded fanny pack?
Lol it is definitely a great idea. The day may just come :)
I go with a river fishing vest. First, I'm FAT. Seriously, I'M FAT. Second, I'm compelled to take TOO MUCH GEAR.
I do have a fishing fanny pack, but if I take it's IN ADDITION to my tackle bag and/or River fishing vest.
The truth came out! You have a fanny pack. That is all I needed to hear :)
@@FishAnything Guilty as charged!
Omg... this intro lol
haha I had fun with it
Might have to consider one 🤣. I take wayyy too much tackle pretty much all the time haha. Also you get to do the bam move 😂
What rod and reel are you using out of curiosity?
First rod was my Ned rod - discontinued G Loomis 6'10 Mag Light Drop Shot Rod / Shimano Stradic Ci4.
Second rod was my 5' Shimano Sojourn / Shimano Sienna combo.
And yes Mark, join the Fanny Pack Fisherman Movement! :)
@@FishAnything nice! Been very tempted by those stradic reels. Maybe I'll grab one someday 👍
A floral patterned f'pack, tho.
Could be a vibe
I hunt with a fanny pack.... Think it's the best.. Fish with a small Cabela's bag. Very small
Keep it simple!
Mule brand Fanny Packs?
Lol the day may just come!
What rod is your ultralight?
Shimano Sojourn 5' UL!
@@FishAnythingare you sporting braid (6#) to Flouro (2#) on this setup?
The sinister is on patrol
Always bring a backpack but only use frog on baitcaster and a Ned rig😂😂😂
Sounds like a fanny pack is in order :)
#fannypack4life 💪🏽🤙🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽🎣🎣
👊🏽🤠👊🏽
@FishAnything Forreal Tho! And people wondering why they ain't catchin' anything. 😂 They too worried about how they be looking. This ain't a beauty pagent. 😂💀😂💀
Back pack sucks, a pain in the ass to access stuff. Waist/fanny Pack sucks too, because it drags my pants down and too small. Fishing vest also sucks, no way to carry all stuff. The very best is just a classic cross body school bag, with a travel organizer pouch set in different sizes.
Fanny packs are soooo hot right now
Haha!
My goal is to make them the next big thing for fishermen. Just saying!
50 secounds after post
Fanny pack. Is it a fanny pack? It's a fanny pack.
OH DANG IT'S ACTUALLY A FANNY PACK?!
Truth time... I have been considering this for recent trips... so... good for you :)
Haha glad you can appreciate the fanny pack life!
@@FishAnything ** knuckles **
First comment
Thanks bud!! Hope you are enjoying the video
@@FishAnything Amazing vid I have this lure and had no clue how to use it thanks for telling me its a jerkbait lol
😳
haha
When is there going to be a MF Fanny pack??
lol not sure that will be anytime soon but maybe someday!
Joe Rogan would be proud.
Happy to hear it! I had no idea he liked fanny packs lol
What's the big deal. I always used a fanny pack and so do my friends. The fact that you're fishing already makes you chick repellent unless you have a nice boat.
Fishing ain't about the chicks last I checked :)
@@FishAnything Then why are you bringing up the fanny pack issue in the first place? The dudes? Do what you want, care less about what people think. Own it. You're not going to a club or a bar - it's an outdoor activity, it's allowed. Edit: Love the video!
