  • Oh my Gosh! Since last year I have been anxiously awaiting the launch of the AILUNCE HD2, the enhanced version of the beloved AILUNCE HD1. And NOW I have it at last! I’m very excited!
The Design Engineers and Business Executives had published surveys asking about our long-awaited features that it should have!
But many things were happening, and RETEVIS were creating new chipsets that would give much greater independence and power to the new model.
While this was happening, we knew that a very radical change could occur with Analog Radios and Systems.
An entire Intelligent DSP system would be in charge of suppressing noise from an FM modulated carrier, it is so capable that even the white noise of fading is suppressed.
I have tested it on the RA89 RETEVIS radio, and it works surprisingly well. Regardless of whether you travel live, or through Echolink, or AllStar; digital filtering will always be available in a surprising way!
Could this advance in the development of analog radios hinder the development of new digital radios?
Apparently the development of new microprocessors for Radio Telecommunications equipment was in full development. I am looking at a radio in beta status, but a substantial improvement is noticeable, even though my AILUNCE HD1 always worked perfectly, and continues to do so!
The keyboard is noticeably better, the functions react quickly, faster than other equipment that I have from other brands included, even the negotiation with repeaters in DMR Tier2 is faster, without delays or retries. Which speaks very well of data transmission at the DMR streaming.
Digital voice decoding on commercial repeaters is perfect! The same with analog demodulation in FM!
I don't have the CPS Software on the computer yet, however I discovered that it now supports up to 5000 talkgroups in the Priority table, and local RID records in the local table now allows 500,000 ID records for Address Book.
The device now has BT audio, with a very nice Bluetooth speaker microphone, that is another great improvement for the device. As for batteries and other accessories, both devices are fully compatible.
The new programming cable is no longer compatible with the old platform, but it is immediately detected in Windows 11 professional, and the drivers are contained in the system.
It is important to consider that what I am reviewing is a device still in beta status, there are many things that Retevis develops for us, it is the firmware version 1.0 of a device manufactured this month.
And yet it is impressive! Friends, all the information that we develop from now on is available to be informed, under the exclusive decision of RETEVIS/AILUNCE, and it will be published through the channels and Social Networks of RETEVIS/AILUNCE.
So stay tuned for such good news! Best regards, 73 DE CE2DJA.

Does aliunce hd2 have aes-256 encryption?

Hi dear Bob still we're not reviewing encryption, because the radio mainly is oriented to Hamradio.
In my opinion, RETEVIS/AILUNCE in all the sense are interested in a legacy concept such the case of FT2, FT3, FT5, by example. So must be a certain compatibility with HD1.
In terms of hardware clearly you can see that HD2 it's a very remarkable evolution of HD1, for curiosity I tested Basic Encryption in between both and worked perfectly.
I don't know if furthermore RETEVIS would decide to incorporate AES-256 to advanced encryption, I also don't know if Motorola has copyright on the algorithm.
Still, it's not the moment for answering this question my dear Bob.
In my opinion RETEVIS considered the HD1's advanced encryption is good enough to satisfy the need of its customers, and the compatibility in between both radios It is more beneficial for their customers, I guess.

Motorola does not have a copyright. The anytone 878 & some hyteras can interoperate with Motorola aes-256
