    Interesting man! I'm a 34 yr old been playing mid stakes online and high stakes CG live for 14 years. I'm trying to find ways of getting better online. What is the best way of doing it you think? I'm discussing hands with the Swedes I know (Perrymejsen most famous one I think) and trying to ask questions as much as I can. But I would like to find a way of practicing whenever I want to, like a tool for spots etc. What would you suggest?

    I also love seeing the reality but i feel like playing so many tables at the same time makes you lose sight of each player in your table. Like u could analyze them little by little and maybe see the ranges they play so u can secure a couple more hands, it would also be more interesting to see you talk through your playing process like which ranges you decide to play or only really tight and raise / call analysis or stuff like that this makes it feel like you are playing lottery somehow

      The EV of volume (playing lots of MTTs) far exceeds the EV of trying to learn enough about individual opponents to make large deviations from GTO and player pool based play. You should try and play as close to GTO as possible and when deviating from it you should do so based on tendencies of the player pool at large at whatever stake you're playing at. You can have some certainty about how the pool plays and it's very hard to get enough hands to learn if individuals are particularly different from the pool.

    • @matthewstaples8714
      @matthewstaples8714  4 місяці тому

      There is a sweet spot for everyone with how many tables you play where you feel like you are getting in enough volume but also playing at least your B game, for some people that's 4 tables some people its 1. Part of the reason I play a lot of tables is because I have fun with it though.

    how the fk do you make sound and correct decisions playing 30 tables at once? arent you just mindlessly clicking at that point? timing out? getting over bluffed/ over folding? and doesnt this effect your bottom line/bankroll? seems like a bit of a ROI punt to me, im curious to know how much pure profit from poker only you make annually on average? just a ball park estimate. and i guess you wouldnt know if your getting over bluffed or over folding cuz you dont see other peoples cards unless you showdown. I personally dont think mass tabling is profitable and im shocked that thats how poker is taught and recommended to new players. i dont think thats even poker at that point, i feel like you would be forced to just mine AA KK on every table just from the sheer amount of action your forced to make decisions on. and if thats the case thats so easily exploitable. i see other less experienced poker streamers who mass table and its safe to say they are losing players...even if they take down a tourney here and there i see that because of the sheer amount of punted buy ins they breaking even after a 1st place in a trny. whats the point of a 1st place in one trny when u just punted 20 other trnys? it all seems like a poker scam to juice the poker economy and it makes for awful poker play in reality. Even when i see these fish at FTs they are quite lost because they havent put in the work for short handed adjustments. You can tell the short handed skills are not there. I personally only 2 table max and when i take down a big trny (about once a year) i get to keep all that profit instead of having to funnel it back in to buy ins. I guess we all have our own theory and philosophy. im just super curious to know though how profitable it actually is....instead of perceived. I suspect a lot of these sponsored streamers get to use donations from twitch and what not to support their buy ins but thats a bit of a hack and not realistic for any1 else.

    • @matthewstaples8714
      @matthewstaples8714  4 місяці тому

      You have some reasonable thoughts here about playing too many tables but you are definitely taking too strong of a line lol, everyone's sweet spot is different for how many tournaments they should be playing, and part of it comes down to enjoyment as well.
