I mean they did shoot twice and made some bold passes. I get why fans get frustrated when it's just passes around the umbrella half the time and then they just get poke checked out eventually lol
I yell SHOOT at them all the time. They often try to get too fancy and the offense does not start clicking again until the bear down and get a few greasy goals. There was a stretch recently when this same power play went like 3 for 35 or something like that. It is beautiful when they are clicking, but sometimes they need to stop looking for the pretty play and shoot the puck. They know that too. They talk about it during the stretches when the pretty stuff is not working.

They are hard nosed, hard working hockey players who are in every battle fighting tooth and nail and just being effective. The "skill players" (gotta throw that in quotes because MacK, Landy, Rants, and Cale all have a hard nosed, physical element to their game as well) definitely notice that and have a deep respect for it too. Those kind of players have a type of leadership that does not always get recognized, but I think they help bring the rest of the guys back to the basics when the pretty stuff is not working. When your first line keeps getting stuffed and your fourth is the only line being effective, the team tends to do more of the things the fourth line is doing well.

It never said goals, never said “gotta see this” those who expected something other than what the title read, I don’t know what to tell you. Avalanche total dominance on the PP, moving the puck around, causing pressure and the Sharks couldn’t even touch the puck. Imagine dominating on PP that this is considered avg. where’s the globetrotter music
that was one good clicking powerplay, but everyone knows that not every power play even executed by the best teams will be very good every chance. Sure all teams can have good powerplay executions, I would argue that the oilers top powerplay when its clicking is the best puck moving and most effective in the league and it has been for years.
And the Sharks pk is actually pretty good! Normally the only thing we do well. I was at this game and it was very impressive-as a Sharks fan I was disturbed yet mesmerized.

Im a diehard Sabres fan (for better and worse) and this team we have now is playing amazing hockey. But one thing I notice is we miss so many passes. D to D, breakouts, and powerplay' passes never seem to be tape to tape, or at least as consistent as it needs to be. A great team like Colorado masters the pass. Yeah talent is a big part of it, but this is just cohesion at its finest. I hope the Sabres get there soon. We really have the pieces in place now and the right coach/culture. I hope to watch my team look like this in the future.
The Sabres are fun to watch this year and so very easy to root for. When you get Power and some of those prospects in the lineup along with Dahlin growing into form the future looks bright.
And the fact that this is a good penalty kill from the sharks makes this all the more impressive. No other team could control the play and dominate up against that.
My Penguins just played the Avalanche a couple days ago and now we gotta play them again today. They do a great job of blocking shots, getting their sticks on the ice. Dominating offensive possessions. Elite speed in their transition game which causes quick goals and shorties. After they allow a goal they don't let the opponent maintain momentum and score quickly to tie it up. If they aren't the Presidents Trophy and Stanley Cup Winner this year, something is definitely wrong. Joe Sakic should win the Jim Gregory Award and Jared Bednar should win the Jack Adams Award.

Clearly Sakic was happy with his team the way it was and just wanted to bolster his bottom 6. If Giroux was traded to the Avs, I would put him pp group 2 with Burakovsky and Nichuskin behind doews and Newhook. That might be a better paring due to giroux being an elite playmaker. If Sakic wanted it tho, he would have moved heaven and earth to do so. Clearly he's content with his already stacked team

Possibly. Great regular season team. The lack of centre depth might hurt. As a leafs fan, I love and miss Naz dearly. But as a 2nd line centre.... that gives him some really difficult matchups. You ideally want him on your third line creating mismatches of his own. Too much icing(wingers), not enough cake(centreman). I could see them falling off a cliff next year as well if they don't re-sign Kadri or figure that 2nd and 3rd line centre depth out. The one thing going for them is the western conference is brutal. So if they stay hot. They might just slice through it like butter.
