Mark you are an Alaskan Bear Grylls 😉 Honestly between you and Lauren you are both made for the camera, comfortable, confident and able to engage the audience. Love the things you do with the boys learning is so much more than books and a computer this is life skills 👍

Truth, it’s a memorial to a great time we had and should last for a long time.

I don’t think I’d I like the mounts in our house nearly as much if I hadn’t done all the work myself. Not that I’m an expert, it’s just the pride of doing your own work and seeing the fruits of it.

What an awesome video, I love your beautiful taxidermy skills! Why did your colleagues in your first job not enjoy these wonderful taxidermy mounts? 😮

Although the firm was started by Alaskans, by the time I worked there, most of the employees were imports from liberal areas and truly didn’t understand the Alaskan lifestyle. Overall it was a good place to work, just a few very vocal greenies that found it offensive. I found it interesting because most of our clients were in remote areas that lived and breathed the true substance lifestyle, so to them it would be normal to see…

@@AlaskaBoys that’s not showing off, that talent, passed down from his awesome Dad. You and Lauren are amazing parents and it truly warms my heart to see such a loving, warm family. Everyone should be so lucky to have parents that are so involved with their children. It’s a true blessing to get to watch your family. ❤️❤️❤️

Mark and Hunter what great teamwork on this project. I have never been hunting, but I have really enjoyed your tutorials. I do understand now the accomplishment of the whole process. So how do you clean and maintain those heads, skins and antlers? Do they ever get dusty? I am just curious if you oil and brush the hair. I am just a dumb city girl. Thanks for the Vlog. Super interesting.

The mostly are finished products once done, they just need occasional dusting or combing of the fur. With the preservation chemicals that are used, the finished product is shelf stable.

      You have the hoof?
You might try drying it out in a freezer for 6-8 months? I’ve done that with deer horns in velvet.

@@AlaskaBoys yes I have it frozen I was worried if I boiled it , 1 it would stink up my apartment but the cooler is such a pretty black with white and really want to keep that . I have heard of salting it but I just don’t know. Bleaching could ruin the color . But I don’t have any place to just let it dry out lol my Neighbors might complain lol ! I guess I will keep it in the freezer .
Thank you for getting back to me I really appreciate it ! 😂😊

@@jeanchavez2952 salting it is also a good idea. It will draw out the liquid in it that will spoil. That is what you do with animal hides, it’s an important step after removing the meat and fat from the skin.
