    Although I appreciate this much cleaner version, I must admit the demo version packs so much more heat. Thanks for sharing.

    the demo goes harder, but i feel like nobody in the comments are appreciating how much better his vocals are on a technical level here compared to Bait Ones and everything that came before that leak.

    Thanks for sharing this, Jeremi! I think this version has the clearest sound overall, therefore is the best

    so great. Honestly tho, i think the AI Bronze versions are best. There’s some small things that happen in that one that don’t happen in any other ones.

      the bronze version is literally this edit but with stems looped and the AI mashing together

      @@aquinoguh Some of these small things I'm speaking specifically about... Have another listen at 2:16 and the "climax" at 3:13 in this edit. Often in the Bronze versions, the expressions of these instances are quite different and so much more powerful to me. Which is really cool. It's almost like the philosophy behind it is never to get stuck on one recorded version of things, to bring back the "organic magic" or whatever to music, in general.

    Alfie Allen helped design the sleeve? Guess the sword was a Thrones inspired bit.

      I saw a couple people mentioning the poster was coming in a separate package. Unsure of if that's true or not, either way they handled this rollout terribly. Warped records, no inner sleeve, scent is lacking. At least the music's great :)

      I didn't get a poster or even an inner sleeve, the record was just straight up inside the cardboard album cover

    This is it? This is what we've been waiting for? Sorry to say, Jai, this is disappointing. The original mix is far superior, imo.
    The vocal track on the original was a much more soulful and emotive performance (the comping was far superior back then, and the harmonization you did on certain lines was AMAZING).
    The new takes are okay, but the way it's mixed just isn't right. That funky Strat is mixed too low, the kick drum doesn't have that sidechained punch it used to have (not nearly to the same degree anyway), and I feel there's not enough dry signal on the vocal, compared to the Demo version. I also think that plucked higher Strat with the wah is not as impactful as it was in the Demo (even though in the Demo, I thought it was mixed too loud, but my point remains).
    I most certainly prefer the Demo.

      everything that was 'technically wrong' about the demo such as the extreme loudness, compression and artefacts were what made is so special

    • @mgmg116
      @mgmg116 3 роки тому +11

      @@LASHH9669 Not only that, but from the liner notes it's clear the Demo version was mixed by Anup, and going by Anup's work, he is a genius mix engineer.
      It therefore seems to me that the mixing choices in the Demo version were 100% intentional and fully aesthetic

      @@mgmg116 the instrument levels in the demo sound so much more intensional, their EQ balance is heavy handed and smudgey but that's what gave the song character, the way the odd sound effects rush in and out and destroy the master compressor was iconic! This is just flat

    • @mgmg116
      @mgmg116 3 роки тому +11

      @@LASHH9669 I most certainly agree. Even getting glimpses of Anup and Jai's gear in certain pictures, it's clear they have access to some high-quality stuff.
      And you're right on the slightly vague, smudgey-sounding EQ, they were most certainly using way larger boosts and cuts than you normally would, but when you sit back and listen on a low volume, you can still clearly identify all the main elements in the mix.
      It's abrasive, but it's still polished. It's extremely in-your-face (especially given how hard the elements are pushing the limiter) but it's also got a subdued air about it -probably stemming from how unusually low the vocals sit in the mix, which seems intentional to me, as the vocal was processed more or less the same as some of the guitars. Seems the vocal track is meant more to be a texture than a lead element, in my opinion.
      The Demo's mix is such a good example of skill and I hate that it's so underappreciated, but I'm glad you can recognize it like I can!
