Oirase Stream and Lake Towada Autumn in Tohoku Japan

Visited northern Tohoku region Japan to see some autumn colors by going to Oirase stream and Lake Towada. It was still a bit early by maybe 7-10 days, so the autumn fall foliage was just starting.
Started the day from Tokyo, took the Shinkansen to Hachinohe station and the bus to the start of the Oirase stream. All covered by the JR pass.
It was an amazing trip. The Oirase stream trail took 2 hours to get to Lake Towada. It was a nice slow walk. Overnight at a backpacker hostel along Lake Towada and visited an onsen hotel that’s open to the public for a 500 yen fee. Got to try the indoor and outdoor onsen. It was so soothing and relaxing after a long day hike.
