    Hi Becky, if I have the pattern for both the pieces and the complete picture can I just put the complete picture and turn it to applique in simply applique?

      You'll need to scan the pieces into the SNC. If you don't get good scans, then trace around them onto printer paper with a pencil and scan that paper in. Then do a test stitch to see if the size is identical. It should be but if the outside edge of the pencil line is a mm larger than the actual piece, then you'll want to resize down one mm in the SNC.

    Do any of your videos show how to pull appliqué parts into a design where the largest part in the design is larger than your largest hoop, so you can use Simply Appliqué to built out the design?
    Thanks! I have watched all of the Simply Appliqué videos you have done so far, I think, but I may have missed one that addresses this.

      No, I've not done a video on that. I think the only way to do that is to split the design into two parts and use another applique on top of that to cover the split or to use a motif stitch on top of the split to cover the join.

    Big Wing will not fit in my hoop. Can I do the big wing the old fashion way and the
    rest of the design with my 7.9 x 14.2 inch hoop? Or does the whole wall hanging need to be done the old fashion way?

      You can do the wing the old fashioned way and then do the rest in the hoop. :-)

    Hi Becky, if you’re making a bigger item than your hoop, is it difficult to add more stitches along the same line of a design or will it look bad? Thanks.

      I make sure to think about how the designs will overlap and then set up my different stitching sets that way. In this particular project, even though there were completed blanket stitches on the body that were under the wing, they didn't show in the finished project at all. Hope that helps.

    How can you add embroidery files into an applique in which the body to which the files are being attached is larger than your largest hoop? i have an elephant that has a body larger than my largest hoop. i understand how you build on a body part that fits in the hoop, but dont kmow how to buik
    ld on a body part that is larger than the hoop.

      If that's the case, then you'll have to sew that part down by sewing machine. If you have pieces that will go under that larger part, lay the large part where it needs to go and use an erasable marker to draw guide marks on the background as to where the smaller embroidered pieces need to go down first so you can lay the large part over that. It's tricky, but it can be done.

      What if theyneed to go on top of the larger part? should I scan half of the elephant and then add that to the Simply Applique hoop to build on top of it?

    Ok, I’m going to show my stupidity, but will the program work with a Viking embroidery machine?

      I have a Viking, too, and would like to know. How would we find out?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 роки тому

      Oh not a stupid question at all! Simply Applique will save to the .hus, .shv, or .vip format which is used by the various Viking machines. If your machine uses on of those file formats, it will work for you. Thanks for asking!

    Do you remove overlap stitches on these so that they won’t have blanket stitches underneath fabric or do you just not worry about it?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 роки тому +1

      I really don't worry about it. The blanket stitches are very lightweight and don't show through. Just a note, I've only gotten Simply Applique to remove underlying stitches (occasionally) using a satin final stitch. I haven't been able to get it to do this with a blanket stitch. I supposed that if you had the full version of BES4, it would work.

    is there a way to eliminate the stitching on the parts that are hidden? Like the top of the legs that are hidden by the big wing

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 роки тому

      That feature is in the software but in Simply Applique, I've noticed it works sporadically and only when using the satin stitch. I suspect it works better in the full version of BES4.

    How do I handle a smaller hoop that won't accommodate the body?

    • @PowerToolsWithThread
      @PowerToolsWithThread  4 роки тому

      You'll have to sew that piece on the old fashioned way with your sewing machine. I do not recommend choosing a satin stitch in this case. Stick to the blanket stitch.
