When Stevie played, you could hear his heart in every damned note!

Such a great lesson. I feel like I owe him money for it.

Yes,so true. Even the really fast players in the end slow down and become more melodic. Imagine if a singer sang 500 words a minute. Vaughn junior is a really an interesting guy and totally gets it.

I lived in Austin 1981 through 2003 and had been going there since late 60s...
And I never once saw Tyrone play anywhere there I saw Jimmie alot at music stores hanging out and or playing and Stevie and Jimmie were at Rays all through the 80s used to see them there all the time but never saw Tyrone play.... I leased Ejs practice room next Door to Stevies and Ej moved to the big room so I was between the rehearsal rooms for 3 years there and never saw them there and I played around Austin at open mic but made the fatal mistake of thinking I could get married and still have a life. I was at Rays every day and was getting work by Stevens guitars who did Srvs work and Ejs and I was taught by the tech how to set them up to play in tune and stay in tune there Ive known every tech Eric or Stevie ever used there Zach Berry better then Rene as Rene was in Dallas Stevens guitars had 3 of the best techs in the southwest FENDER GIBSON MARTIN Authorized repair so they setup my 58 strat same as Erics at the time.... Stevie was going there for his work frets ect.. When he broke the headstock off #1 the first time I was in there when he came in with it. I guess Tyrone was playing more around Dallas cause I never saw him at Antones I saw Charlie Sexton play there when he was 12.. Stevie introduced me to Hubert Sumlin at Antones office Buddy Guy and Albert Collins were there the same night playing poker in Cliffords office... Stevie said boy you know who that is I said no HOWLING WOLFES LEAD GUITARIST SON..
Hubert had a 50s strat on just killing it and stopped talking and were both staring at his hands like kids. HAND TO GOD and Hubert stopped playing and said oh yall dont wanna know my licks and we both said YEA WE DO KEEP PLAYING WHAT WAS THAT YOU JUST DID THERE LIKE KIDS AT SCHOOL...... HUBERT LOVED THAT ALOT. BUDDY AND ALBERT SIGNED MY 59 BACK PLATE IN PURPLE MARX O LOT AND BUDDY SAID WAIT HOW COME YOU DONT WANT US TO SIGN THE FRONT WHY THE BACK PLATE I SAID BECAUSE ITS CLOSER TO MY HEART THAT WAY AND THEY SAID I LIKE THAT AND SIGNED IT. NOW I DID LOVE THEM BOTH BUT NOT ENOUGH TO LET THEM SIGN THAT 59 ON THE FRONT IN PURPLE MARX O LOT.
IF TYRONE ASKED ME TO PLAY A SLOW SHUFFLE I COULD NOT DO IT PROLLY AND IF I ASKED HIM TO PLAY ZAP BY EJ OR CLIFFS OF DOVER HE PROLLY CANT PLAY THAT CAUSE ITS FAST BUT SO WHAT.....?
SO WHAT IS A MILES DAVIS SONG....
CANT WE ALL JUST GET ALONG..
NOW ITS MY D!@% AND MY BAR OF SOAP AND ILL WASH IT AS FAST AS I WANT TOO....

I grew up in Austin and saw Jimmie every few months and never once did I hear a peep from or about Tyrone, never knew he existed which makes all these videos with him as a historian kinda strange. He definitely doesn't have the family calling.

This is the nugget right here: ua-cam.com/video/STXK3bHR-xU/v-deo.html - there's a lot here and it's worth listening to. Nice job to both of you.

      Very well worthwhile comment!
You might also consider a few classes in listening as well as being someone worth listening to...?
