Hi love this mystery. I had a small problem following cutting directions. Emailed support team & had an answer & clarification within an hour! What a great support team thanks! I was able to continue without a long delay! Just fabulous! Thanks ❤️
I am really enjoying this sew along. First time making a quilt like this. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. Doing the 6” blocks. Amazing what can be done with just strips.
Editor you are a wonderful and very talented person. Thank you for the summer mystery quilt pattern. I could listen to you all day. Have a great summer.
Oh my gosh, I’m only on week 4 but looked at this video and this block I already know will be my favorite and I can’t believe I will be able to do it!!! All my blocks have come out perfect so far! I’m already wondering when your next quilt along will be because I want to keep learning!!!
I can’t wait to sew this block! Your instructions are so easy to follow thank you for being so inspirational. I learn so much from your tips and techniques.
I’m just working on my block 6. I noticed something on the pdf file Printout that I wanted to mention. After I made a set of Block 6A HST's, I cut my right HST into strips first. The diagram for the 6A right block with the trim amounts worked beautifully. Then I cut my Block 6A Left HST into strips. When I went to trim them according to the picture for the left HST, I noticed the numbers for the amount to trim off the bottom of each Strip were not correct. So I referred back to the picture for the right side and corrected them on my printout. I don’t think it was a printer error, because everything else seemed to be correct. Just wanted to let everyone know to check their PDF printout before they cut into their strips.
I am struggling with my blocks coming out too small, usually by about 1/4". I've adjusted my needle as suggested. I wonder if it's because I'm using batiks? I find they don't stretch much at all and leave no wiggle room. How can I make them fit in the setting without having to redo the lot?
I printed off the instructions ans cut right by instructions then went to do left and cut sizes are different than right...which one is the right cutting sizes?
Editar, many of us are confused about the color placements for week 5 .. is the sequence. Medium, light, dark, light , medium.? I was hoping you saw this question on the blog but i dont think you had time to review it . I am holding off doing the blocks so i make sure i did them correctly. .Thank you for any help you can give .
You are right...that's how her strips are lined up and in the cutting directions the mediums are first and last and cut at 2 3/8....they need to be wider. I wondered the same thing as the shaded gray-scale drawing is light, medium, dark, medium, light. I think either will work though since some are doing the blocks randomly.
I'm making my quilt using the Day Trip Bundle. I'm confused as to which light fabric from that bundle is used in this block. Should we use the background fabric or the lightest fabric in the bundle? Thanks!
Agree. It says light in the blog, but background in the video. And it looks like the background fabrics are used in example blocks in other color ways. I’m really enjoying the mystery quilt - I’ve made and finished up many new and antique quilts but it is fun to actually have a pattern. Love the mixed fabric scrappy blocks - I will try those with the background. Fun!
Great instructions and love your sweet voice that “happy quil~ting.”❤
I love Edyta & EVERYTHING she does, shares, her contagious glow. Thank you🤗
Thank you for such great instructions. Enjoy your cheerfulness and inspiration.

Love these blocks. But I really wish they were more printer friendly. This block take 19 pages!

Are the brown blocks being placed in the middle of quilt or the outside?

It seems as if you cut the strips, then sew without trimming the ends, that you could cut to size after?

....her taupe is a medium and the aqua is a light....Edyta's strips are taupe, aqua, teal, aqua, taupe....

I’d like to know too
She says background in the first minute of the video. Hope that helps.
Take a picture of your fabric and then change it to a black and white view. You’ll be able to see clearly which fabric is the lightest and brightest.

she said background, but it also says light background in the written directions
Are we going to use the accent fabric any time soon?
Yes! Very soon. :)
What is the quilt behind her?
Any one else out of fabric? I can’t cut 4 12.5” squares?
Me..had to go buy more
