He went out for a pass and was heading back to the huddle when he collapsed. Dick Butkus of the Bears saw him violently convulsing and was frantically trying to get help. Doctors from both teams tried to save him, but he died in the ambulance. I'm from Detroit and a life-long Lions fan, and I remember watching this game live when it happened. I've never seen anything even close to that day. Still remember like it was yesterday.
