brilliant, I have some of the really big diameter bamboo and mistakenly thought it was too big to make a trellis out of, splitting it is a game changer!
that was impressive. i have a patch of construction bamboo growing in my backyard that I am going to try and use for this very reason. love from a gardener in melbourne australia.

What is the wire rope called? Does it come on a roll? I LOVE this project!
Galvanized Iron Wire, yes on a roll. Usually sold in /kg

Loved this video! Did you let the bamboo dry after splitting it? If so, how long did you wait until building the arbor?
I used the bamboo straight away, if you store it for too long the level of flexibility will decrease
