A VHS tape published by King Video as part of its CGV (Computer Game Video) line that was available for sale or rent in Japan way back in 1991, which is all about Taito's arcade classic shooting game Night Striker. It retailed for a hefty 7000 yen (plus tax) and has an official run time of 80 minutes.
It includes a 1CC "super play" of the entire game, but more than that, how to beat the stages as a pacifist, which is why the tape is so long. In addition to showcasing techniques for the stages and pacifist runs, all endings are shown the viewer. There are no special music videos or other extras you tend to get in these videos, which is disappointing, but it's fun to see how effortlessly the player here can beat the game without firing a single shot.
This video was recorded on a Sharp VC-ES20B S-VHS deck using Sony S-Video cables upscaled to 1080p 60fps via the Framemeister, captured using an Elgato HD60 S+.

Trying to get this tape captured now. Did you have trouble with this tape being particularly dark?

I don't recall having much trouble--this is a completely raw capture without any brightness or contrast settings messed with, so if it looks brighter here than the tape you have, it may unfortunately be the tape.
