I'm American and I'm lowkey confused about the whole Kartel controversy (from what it seems she basically remixed Loodi and is saying it's a collaboration but everyone else is saying no she stole the song and she's not giving Kartel credit) but if that's the case this actually happens a lot in the music industry. For example the song Don't by Bryson Tiller isn't his at all. It's actually a more local (unknown) rapper's song but Bryson Tiller took the song, wrote his own verse, put it out, as far as I know he didn't give any credit, and that sing made his entire career. There's a lot of songs that aren't the original song but still basically helps the artists career take off. I'm not Jamaican so I don't know how things musically go there but in America a lot of big artists do it. Beyonce has even done it 2 or 3 times and it's even been done recently with Wild Thoughts by Dj Khaled. If this isn't what happened though someone please explain and I'm not justifying her actions I'm just saying.
