If Three 6 Mafia and Bone Thugs do a Verzuz who would win?
🦴 all day. 🚬💙🔥
It all depends on whats being played and the energy.. and they gotta know their shit…lox and dipset set the standard.. a lot of people will say bone but 36 got shit too
definitely three 6, the influence even in music today is just waaaay too deep, bones could pull out anything but their sound is just too recognizable
@@concept8407 Definitely. That's the X-Factor now. Verzuz is turning into something different. It's really turning into a concert. I now realize that anybody can get smoked in a Verzuz if they don't play the right records. With that said I think if Bone and Three 6 get announced we'll see a lot of people say Bone but if Three 6 plays the right records then their opponent is going to have a long night.
@@Teece007 I think for now on in Verzuz I'm going to go with the underdog. They always show up with something to prove and kill it. We've seen it with Jadakiss, Trina, Jeezy, etc. Bone is more commercial but Three 6 can really pull out A LOT of records that would hit. Their catalogue is super deep and people have to think that individual members can pull from their own catalogue. Juicy J alone can pull stuff from Three 6 Mafia and his own solo catalogue. That is trouble right there and I didn't even mention the records he produced outside of Three 6
90s Memphis is an underrated rap scene. They laid the blueprint for modern rap.
How exactly? If anything from the south laid the groundwork for modern rap it’s No Limit after they picked up
Independent game from the Bay. What did actually do?
@@miggypeso909 No doubt that No Limit was influential, but when I'm talking about Memphis its mainly from a production standpoint. Beats groups like Three 6 used 25 years ago are still being sampled today. Many trap rappers throughout the 2010s derived their sound from Three Six. Of course we can't forget about the Lord Infamous flow used by the Migos and the many rap acts that followed. I'm not tryna give sole credit to them or rewrite history, but they did contribute.
@@miggypeso909 3-6 sound is heard throughout the industry. All these remake songs n shit is from music they made 20-30 years ago. Gangsta boo, project pat, crunchy black, all them songs they made are being sampled and remade into hits today. All you gotta do is listen and you’ll hear it. It’s not even hidden!
@@YoungBasedChefBeezy alright then fam,put me on some game. What songs exactly?
So they set rap up for failure lol 😂
Project Pat got a instantly recognizable flow, so much originality from those brothers.

It's weird at Three 6 Mafia never gets brought up in the conversation of influential groups. Especially when you look at their huge album catalog
even though gucci mane, metro boomin, denzel curry, asap rocky and many other rappers cited them as an influence
@Based Bwoy If you like Lord infamous then you should check out suuiicideboyz and ghostmane.
I heard that they make good music that sounds like the early Memphis scene with even better production and updated mastery.
My boy put me on and said that they are good so I'm going to go check them out to see what he's talkin bout
Unfortunately New York City and LA hip hop fans are very, VERY elitist and stuck up and have a superiority complex when it comes to what hip hop is.
@@dtxspeaks268 That's not really true anymore (for NY at least). NY hasn't has its own sound for a while now.

It’s crazy cuz i discovered them in 2013 but started appreciating their music more recently since a lot of the current trap is over saturated. Their music has aged like fine wine.
Anyone ever read Scarecrows lyrics. Trust me google his verses and your gonna be blown away & have a deeper respect for his art. He is next level, a true poet, a legend.

They where the first rap group to have a heavy metal/death metal ascetic. Triple 6 the name says it all. They had that graveyard sound. Bone thugs tried but triple 6 was the first
yeah theyve literally been doin it since the late 80s. lord infamous was one of if not the firs to do horrorcore. in the damn 80s... thats crazy
I’m still bumping them almost daily. Posse Songs are legit the hardest shit ever. Everyone.
💯 me too, they are all I listen to these days, I bought some Hypnotized Minds/Prophet Posse Merch from Dj Paul's website too ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
3 6 Mafia were literally UNTOUCHABLE in their prime..Just dropped banger after banger. King pins of the rap game!
Literally was like that till koop and scarecrow passed
Three Six was one of the first rap groups that I remember hearing my white skateboarder punk rock/metal head friends listening to! A lot of those dudes bought their first subwoofer soon after that haha those were the good days.. Then they started being on Jackass so they really crossed over.
Mystic Styles was absolutely the first rap album this white boy from Raleigh ever bumped. I’ve been bumping it through four different musical formats now. I had the tape from a trunk, the CD from the store, downloaded it on my first iPod and now it stays in my streams. This and Fly will never get old.
the whole memphis scene was influential, not just the mafia
yea but three six was pretty easily the most popular from that scene
Lil Noid and tommy wright 3 have more influence in my opinion
Lil fly
Even outside of rap they were influential. Rock n Roll basically started there at Sun Records. Elvis was the first to blow outta Memphis
@@shadowrealm1210 Lil Noid too UG to be that influential
Three six mafia is the reason I got into rap their sound made an immediate impact on me. RIP Koopsta and lord infamous
Not just 3 6 but memphis as a whole since the late 80s was VERY influential
Correction: They Perfected the sound! This is some good stuff. Very much appreciate as a long time fan of the 6.
I remember back in 2000 my dawg used to make cd's so we used to bump when the smoke clears! The Who run it beat is HARD AF!
Fr especially when it was coming on
1999 Sydney, Australia, i had a friend come back from the states with a whole bunch of cds of hip hop artists, one of them was 3 6 mafia chapter 2 world dominatio. when i heard , that album blew my mind, that sound was unjique. as years pass i see 3 6 influence through many artists in the us but even in the uk with the grim and drilll scene
the uk drill scene was influenced by chicago, same as new york
Their movie Choices was LEGENDARY!!!!
Damn Crunchy!!!
Best dirty south hood movie it was a lil better than I'm bout it to me it was

@@YSuniverse856 I still got my cd
Three six Mafia, gangsta Blac, skinny pimp, 8ball & Mjg, and DJ Screw was my childhood - now I'm 41 and still listen and the sound is still amazing. I now listen to Ryan Celsius, smooth sounds, and evilasthetic as the next evolution of phonk. Still got the tapes and CDs and will never forget the classics. Great content, cheers!!!
I feel with the influence of Three 6 Mafia, Bone-Thugz-n-harmony, and Dj Screw not only influence the music but culture as well.
Agreed
I bump Three 6, Pat, Juicy and even Frasier Boy daily. Been looking for a video like this forever. Good shit bro.

The first time I knew of Three Six Mafia was as Triple Six Mafia from a show they did in Raymond Mississippi around 1990 or 1991 @ Hinds Community College. That shows they were hustling towards what they ended up being for real 💯. Yo it's wild in hindsight knowing how they turned out. random fact that no one ever talks about: juicy j got his name from a jim carrey character from in living color which was a parody of a guy who had infomercials selling juicers back in the day.
🤣cant believe I never heard that. Juicy J the funny guy from 3-6 with all the dirty/not so serious lines, so I can see that.
More people are starting to realize how much Three 6 Mafia layed a big chunk of the foundation that rap is built on today. Half of the songs topping charts presently have that southern tick riding in the background. That tick is the epitome of Memphis rap. Hell, like two years ago there were three hit songs based off of the "slob on my knob" beat alone. Credit where credit is due. Thanks for putting this out!
You forgot to mention the Young Southern Playaz compilation version from 1996 Tear da club up. They have a video for it as well.
I was reading thru the comments to see if anyone had mentioned this one. Good call. 👍 I didn't even know that YSP '96 version existed until about 2 years ago. So... that makes 4 different versions? Not counting edits or musical remixes.
Ysp is fire I agree
Them High High notes and the speed of the beat going fast slow to bassy and low it just worked with that Distorted sound being intentional and them 808 sound boards was the shit
Yes, they will always be the G.O.A.T!!!
Seeing videos like this popping up makes me so happy. I've been listening to a bunch of those underground tapes from Memphis in general for the past 12-13 years when I randomly found them on youtube. I was always amazed at how "ahead of their time" the music was in so many senses.
Three 6 Mafia Da Kings Of Crunk from Memphis are responsible for everyone who came after them like Lil Jon & The Easide Boys, Pastor Troy, David Banner, and a few others. At the same time Three 6 Mafia changed southern rap music in the early 90's and the early 2000's forever.
Its the Memphis sound that influenced others more than just 3-6. Personally Id say Tommy Wright III holds the king of crunk crown. To me 3-6 is smoked out loced out music whilst they hypnotize minds.
@@YT_HATES_FREE_SPEECH late 90s, three 6 should keep the title of kings of crunk. the beats paul n j did for killa klan kaze, gangsta blac, all them other beats they did in the late 90s were hard af!
