Nice unit, if a person or persons want to go off grid and set it up this would be the unit to get, these are just amazing.
I Like it because it Has No Slides. U don’t have to Mess with.
I have been looking at LV since their first model. I wish I was in the tax bracket to buy one. I love what they have created and how they continue to evolve. Simply amazing and second to none.
Thank you for following our journey over the years. Lots of exciting developments in the works!
Agreed!
💯👍🏼 LOVE the LV. 💚
*What blew me away* was the price.
Extremely impressive
Well designed WOW
only word that comes to mind.
I only ask can there be colour choices interior ?
I am reading a neutral warm grey same for upholstery and window treatments 😊
Highend this and highend that but it's got the same toolboxes and storage boxes with cushions as my 12ft dirtbike trailer..lol
Freaking awesome!!!
That was cool watching you guess what some stuff was ! LOL What was the speaker thing again? I would be a Buyer at $250,000...... $699,000 Not so much Good Luck ! how much ground clearance ? looked kinda low......
All of our vehicles are custom built and we offer a variety of models. Well equipped units starting at 299k.
After briefly looking at their site, it looks like you can charge your EV with the DC power ports
that would be awesome.... if you could tow this with a R1T.
I'd expect it to be winterized with them thick walls and doors
LV is rated down to -4 degrees F.
Can they do slide outs? For possibly more room.
Nice, just not sure if there’s a market for this
I’ve been checking out the living vehicle for a couple of weeks now, it is very impressive, and they absolutely have the best quality and innovation in the industry. I was also wondering if they had considered towing the LV with an electric truck, and possibly partnering with either Ford, Chevy, or Dodge designing away to use the solar from the LV to enhance the range of an electric tow vehicle or charge your EV while camping since those options are very limited?
Solar charging a vehicle is years away. Ford Lightning uses 0.49 kwh per mile. On this unit, with the awnings extended, they were pulling in 1964 watts. So in 1 hour, they generated 4 miles of range for the Ford Lightning. And that truck is nowhere near the size needed to haul this beast.
Integrating with electric trucks has always been the goal. This is absolutely possible. Our largest solar array currently is 6kW. Using the Ford Lightning mentioned in the comment below as a reference point, you would charge 12 miles of range per hour with our largest solar system. Of course that truck can’t tow LV, but there are other options that can. We also offer lighter weight models.
Our largest battery pack is 72kWh, which will allow for energy stored over a longer period of time for EV charging as needed.
Thanks for taking the time and replying, glad to hear it’s in the works. I will be looking forward to the future with hopeful optimism.
@@thomasdrue1599 Yes, stay tuned. We have lots of exciting developments in the works!
Class A non commercial license for California owners to tow this rig
Nice but $600,000? You could get a Luxe for less. It may have a $60,000 solar system so maybe with $200,000 tops. I don't know how they will sell any. Cool stuff though.
These are very nice, but $700k for a full off-grid unit is a bit rich. This is more that the Ferrari of RV's. It's more like the Bugatti of RV's.
I’m not sure I’m seeing $700k. But what do I know
Too bad it has a terrible floor plan (living room).
So I don’t know why anyone would buy something like this, the interior is not very homie looking, I mean this thing looks like you’re living in a refrigerator or something, and the interior aesthetics aren’t very pleasing either. So why would anyone wanna buy something like this, versus an RV bus?
So freaking cool! The only thing I don’t like is my own finances 😂
Badass unit! I'd be all aboard if money weren't the issue! Well done, well built, and great options!
It's "high end" too.
Heat pump technology is the best thing that ever happened to home heating and cooling. I'd like to see more rv manufacturers use it.
Tough for most manufacturers to use this as a single zone that operates off 120 isn’t quite enough and will ultimately heat or cool only one side of the unit. You really need a 240 V system with multiple zones like we have a Living Vehicle. The power needs of that type of system to allow for regular use both on and off grid is quite complex and expensive for manufacturers that optimize for price. that being said, I agree with you it is an absolute game changer that completely elevates the efficiency of the HVAC system.
Incredible! I'd still rather have an airstream + house for 700K! #$%#
Extremely over built but will last a lifetime in my thinking.Very smart build,so I can compute the cost for what your getting.
The price is surprising but then you see the quality and all the options and it makes sense!
I’m for sure a fan, doesn’t mean I’m ever going to own one though. I love the concept they are working under, quality first.
Its over $500k none of us will ever own one lol 😅
Is this made to park for good and just live in or can you take it from place to place like a campground? It’s an awesome coach!
Hey JD. If you are still there can you ask if a sunshade can be attached to the edge of the solar panel when it's extended. The lack of a full awning is a bummer especially for an RV that is designed for the owner to enjoy the outdoors.
Yes, there is a sail cloth option that covers the entire patio just like a boat. Also there are two umbrella stands on either corner of the patio. Happy to answer any other questions you have. Thanks for watching!
@@LivingVehicle thanks!
@@LivingVehicleweird question, any chance of building a model that can be towed by a Cybertruck? 13,500 tow max, 3500 payload, 4 wheel steering to help with trailer control…. supposed to have many features to make up for regular rear axle, not duel.
I wonder about a slightly smaller battery since the truck would have a big battery itself.
I want one of these so bad I can almost touch it but the Cybertruck is going to be my vehicle so that’s where my need starts and ends.
Wonderful stuff, you all are exceptional people and builders. Best of luck to you all
Definitely caters to a specific group. There's just that group of rv'ers who just loves that give me all the solar and batteries you can give me. I guess I don't understand because I dont ever want to be in that group or need. Give me shore power, a generator(rarely need it) and I'll have money to buy and pull my dinosaur fuel burning real lamborghini behind it. Again, not being hateful, but looks like something Dexter might use.
50 amp power in case you get caught in a bad hail storm that damages the solar panels.
They do look like flex panels and should handle pretty much any hail storm (maybe). I still wouldnt camp inside this expensive snow cone stand
Texas, Oklahoma and Colorado have entered the chat.
@@enigma9789
Snow cone stand, perfect. I hate the box trailer look. It even has the vertical rows of rivets holding the sheet panels on. All the tech and quality is badass, but they put a faberge egg in a moldy cardboard box and want three quarter million for it?
very cool units. the metal storage is very much like mech tool boxes. cool channel bud.
You lost me as soon as you said the price
Amazing. Will this be your next RV? 😅
So many awesome things on this rv. I LOVE the water reclamation feature. Being in east Texas mostly, we are used to high summer temps with humidity, so we have started putting a bucket to catch the run off from our ac in order to water flowers and plants. Being able to safely use this type of condensation is mind blowing to me. Kudos to the genius minds who included this in this amazing rv. Removable island..more genius! And the double split.. also a very good idea (as I type this,, hubby is on top of our 2015 360IBL to figure out what's wrong with our a/c). We are hoping to go back to Montana next spring and work as camp hosts again right off Flathead Lake and this rv would be so awesome there. I just may go buy a lotto ticket this weekend.... smiling... Thanks for a fun video and a look at this wonderful work of art.
Thanks for watching, Debbie!
stay tuned for a dedicated video on the water generation system!
I’m blown away by the build quality JD!! Great job LV!!
It’s not for me but I’m part of a large percent that this style RV would never fit their lifestyle. There is a market for the small percent that will buy this though and the proof is that they are selling them.
I love it. I hope you get into more about how the body itself is built. Roof material, walls, floor, insulation, etc.
I also love that there is people out there willing to build something like this and put cost to the side and put quality first.
Could you possibly power your house with this unit?
Yes, you can power both your house and EVs with our onboard 240v power receptacle.
Now there is a serious consideration, power enough to service your home as well? Way cool.
Two thumbs up for the brass Pex fittings and the use of wire loom, very neat mechanicals/electricals. One of these on a Prevost class A chassis would be sweet. My wife would without question injure herself on those sharp corners on the shower shelves though.
Holy cow. What an amazing product!
Crazy cool but I would have to sell my house to buy one.
Beautiful unit for sure. I didn’t realize that you could use torsion axles on something that heavy. Why don’t toy haulers use them?
Are we all looking at the same trailer? This thing looks like shit compared to a Luxe at the same price point. (which is twice as long). Sure its built well, but the cabinets look horrible on the inside and outside. The solar awnings are like 4 ft which offer basically no shade unless its high noon. Plus when you get to the camp site people are going to come up and ask what kind of tacos you sell from your taco trailer.
Form follows function. Most trailers on the inside look like cheap mobile homes. On the outside most trailers look like a dirt bike with their cheesy graphics.
Finally a trailer my truck won’t beat to pieces. Now to get money for one
Very good review of an extremely nice high quality trailer! Like you, I have never seen a travel trailer that was so well designed and built! In a conventional trailer, I think the Airstream and the Lance trailers are at the top when it comes to quality!
I’d like to see their take on building a slide out unit.
How much profit margin do they have in this unit!
Yes I'm curious on that question as well
Santa Barbara Profit Margin. Think "I'm going to open a RV manufacturing facility on Beverly Hills Rodeo Drive" kinds of expenses.
Kudos to these young people for thinking out of the box! I have played the lotto, so I am IN, but wondering about this unit.
TO JD--------------->
1. Let us suppose these wonderful young people ring out 90% of RV failures, by their over engineering these systems. When it DOES have a failure, and we all know it will; who fixes it? Campland crooks, nor any privately owned place is going to touch this thing. Are we suggesting, we have to take it back to California?
2. You had better love camping above anything else. Why? Because if you don't expect to keep this thing for years; a lot of years, NOBODY is ever going to give you what it is worth! Can you imagine going in 6 or 7 years down the road, and trying to tell someone when purchased, this thing cost you, 500 grand, so you want 300.000, or even 250,000! People change as they age; and want differnt things..........those are the people who HAVE THE MONEY, we all know this. So, to suggest this thing will be a forever camper for a couple, is faulty reasoning.
3. I have been a total proponent of admitting that RV manufacturers are sticking it to the consumers. This they have done it for years, and it is a total sad state of affairs. Personally, I would not buy anything but an Alliance or Brinkley as of this writing, and I am not as confident as I should be in either of them........... and if I had to choose one on my life, it would have to be a Brinkley; although as everything in the RV industry, that could change.
4. Thank you JD for showing us a niche camper. Unless it is a 10 year warranty, it is not worth much, but it is interesting. A 10 year warranty doesn't mean much, if the company is not capitalized enough to sustain it, or has enough outlets to service it. Does NOT mean they are on the wrong track, just means those on the cusp of being able to afford one of these; if they are smart, will never do it unless all the above boxes are filled in!
VERY insightful and important questions.
Seven hundred thousand dollars is obscene ffor something that looks like somebody did a home-conversion of a box trailer.
The quality is out of this world, but you can tell they're boat-people. I saw some boat-people make a himemade teardrop trailer, the interior was hideous and dead and sterile, too.
Cabinets and features and solar is badass. I'd say it's very competitive at 300k.
I would agree it would be very competitive, but for many of their units that are well above that price point, the cost of developing one exceeds that. They do start at below $300,000 though
@@BigTruckBigRV
Nice! I believe you when you say they have a hundred thousand dollars of solar on this one though. Batteries are PRICEY. And that's like 3 times as many as what a prius has.
And the smart controllers, wiring, points of use, failsafes, panels, mounting, monitoring system. It adds up.
Love the wood accents. The aluminum construction makes it durable but the wood gives some warmth so it feels almost like a home.
If I had money, I'll buy a waterfront property or something with a great view to the mountains and park it thete.
I'll built the minimum infrastructure to be completely off grid like a water well and a septic tank (additional bathroom and showers) and have it as a vacation home. Instead of going to all the tribulations of building a new house, I'll just get one of these.
Clever idea the movable kitchen island.
I would live on that patio happily ever after.
Love the redundancy and accessibility of the systems if repairs are needed.
Are these rigs available in a 5th wheel or gooseneck towing configuration?
I like the concept and execution. Thanks for showing us interesting trailers, JD.
Two things as a watched your video, the black trim as you walked in the unit was poorly fitted and the cord on the cushions in the living area was poorly done. Both did not scream high end, more like low end!
Though you're getting cushions, that's not what you're paying for with this unit. Cosmetic accessories are subjective and often replaced
They have this insane price tag and then expect us to replace their shitty cloth work? Uhm, No. Not even if I were a billionaire. JD, I used to respect your honesty and your reviews, but with this company, it seems like you've gone all Hollywood Flack PR on us. 😂
@@BigTruckBigRV
The sour grapes are strong in this comment section.
@@thekinarbothat’s a big assumption on your part!
@@thekinarbo Truth hurts. Freaking thing looks like Snap-on built it LOL.
I almost choked when you said the price. Wow!
I love your content and im not bashing you, but I could buy a new Grand Design travel trailer every 10 years for the rest of my life and spend about the same amount of money as i would on one of these trailers that might last me 20 years if im lucky. And how much do they want for replacement batteries? I'm sorry but its just not practical.
So...a dehumidifier basically. That would be busy here in SC right now.
Gate latches for the fridge? Are you kidding? You’re not being objective.
It's a virtually failproof mechanical latch. It's also a very functional piece of hardware that does exactly as intended with virtually no chance of failing. And, they likely cost more than most plastic latches you see on typical RVs. Their also used on $20,000,000 yatchs. So.... Sorry you disapprove. Oh, and they are sliding latches. To latch a gate is just 1 of hundreds of uses. You're not being very practical my friend..
@@jimhenderson438
Exactly!
@@BigTruckBigRV That is just not true. No Yacht, even at 700,000, uses gate latches to secure the fridge.
These trailers are literally works of art.
And they are functional, too!
Another great feature is the fact that there are no holes in the roof for vent fans, AC's, satellite dishes, or any of the other rooftop appliances that you typically see on large travel trailers and fifth wheels.
Right?! Don’t give water a chance to get in. Plus it allows for those solar panels to fill the whole area, tho this video showed one where the coverage wasn’t 100%
These builders thought of everything and provide at least one solution.
For $700K I would DEMAND better placement of that Microwave / Convection Oven. Why anyone thinks putting those near the floor is acceptable is beyond me.
Do they do custom builds..... toy hauler version that sleeps 10 plus.
Where's Robin Leech? Lifestyles of the rich and famous. Most people that can afford this stay at the Four seasons not boondocking.
No 4 seasons where people who buy these travel and stay
What a very nice RV. Very impressive....along with the price tag. I am not taking away from their build quality or the passion of the owners. This is definitely catering to a specific demographic that can spend that type of money. Just like you said, a Lamborghini or Ferrari cater to a specific demographic, but rest assured, the Lambo or Ferrari are not their daily driver. They will have another vehicle they will take out on crappy or most days in general. I don't think the person who can and will purchase this type of unit will be a fulltime RV'er. They will most likely have a million-dollar mansion, (with a Lambo or Ferrari in the multi-car garage) to live in and only take this out for short trips. Again, not taking away from this work of art, if you can afford it, good on you. I've been full-time now for 2.5 years in a 44ft 5th-wheel toy-hauler but would love to try out their 5th-wheel (GT-38). Thanks for sharing your video.
I've never heard someone say high-end so many times in one video lol.
Very high priced components 10 out of 10. Poorly designed into a unit 2 out of 10
Well said.
At least it's still cheaper than the average house in Santa Barbara 😆
I don't think you can actually find a single-family-dwelling in Santa Barbara for under a million.
That's the nicest Snap-on toolbox I've ever seen! $700,000 makes sense with that name brand.
This price point even put snap-on to shame 😆. But a little red and you couldn't tell the difference.
@@anthonyreith7056If you bought enough boxes to make that many compartments you’d probably be pretty close
I like the move away from using wood. Looks great but not great for long term durability.
Suggest to do a long term evaluation on one of these
What do you think, @BTBRV - Should we put you up on some land somewhere for a while?
Are you planning on showing any other units? They have a nice drop down bed option over the living area as well as the option of the bedroom Murphy bed/office desk plan that’s really nice. You also didn’t show/mention the washer/dryer unit in the bedroom.
You really know your LVs! Thanks for the support :)
What is the kilowatt rating for the solar array? (When fully extended)
Up to 6kW total. 4.4 kW on the roof when extended. Optional deployable solar, too.
The wife says if I want one I have to sell the yacht.😉
Excellent quality build.
I would love if this brand would delve into producing cheaper models that are more basic and simple. Take what they've learned on building these ultimate RV's and see how stripped down they can go while still employing their amazing build quality. And of course, I would love to see a bunk house.
They didn't show it here but it has an optional drop-down queen-size bed that comes down from the ceiling above the lounge/dining area. Even the bedroom can be outfitted with another drop-down bed, so essentially, 8 persons can sleep in this unit.
The main thing wrong with the LV is no soft closing drawers and cabinets. I don't think if I spend $800 on a camper, no matter how perfect, I should get those loud, banging drawers and cabinets. They say I can close them slowly and then softly but I shouldn't have to train every guest I have over on how to shut the drawers and cabinets slowly so they don't wake me up in the morning. It's ridiculous that Mathew can't figure this out. Everything is perfect! You just have to do that for us. Love everything else about LV and the team!
Love it, can I buy the positive locking system for my caravan, cheers
Nice built unit, but the laches on the frig not good. Also, no comfy seating area.
Wow!!! Impressive for sure.
Incredible unit. I'd like to see a more aerodynamic front. As is, it's just a big, flat wall of wind resistance.
Aerodynamics of the leading edge have more to do with the tow vehicle than the trailer itself. Take a semi trailer for example. Without the very aerodynamic truck in front of it, it’s just a box.
Need to find a new Upholsterer. The seat cushions look like crap.
Very sterile feeling. Makes me appreciate those cheaper RV's.
Very cool What 5th wheel hitch brand do you suggest for towing now.
$736,935
At that weight, it got the wrong hitch on it these should come with a ProPride 3P Weight Distribution Hitch w/ Sway Control for class 1 or 2" Receivers -
Never heard of these so thanks JD. Now if I could marry this with the ATC Game Changer Pro.
Vern impressive. Thanks
All Terrain Warrior also uses High Grade Marine components in their builds. They actually started in the yacht building industry and they say the All Terrain Warrior is so tight that it will float. I've never tested that theory.
What would be nice if you have an electric truck and the solar panels charge the truck as you drive to extend the tow distance and or keep it charged.
It has level 1 charging, and probably requires the solar awnings to be out to even deliver 5KW. Even if you had that, it only adds about 10-15 miles of range per hour of charge time, for a regular electric car. For an electric truck capable of pulling this? Maybe 3 miles of range per hour. So if you drive 20 mph it might make a difference to your range. And you'd have to drive with the awnings out.
EVs use incredible amounts of power compared to what solar systems are able to generate, until you start talking about house-sized arrays.
The drawers remind me of toolbox drawers. The way they sound and open and close.
Totally agree. I inquired as to why they didn't use soft closed drawers, and they opted for longevity and overall reliability over that cosmetic function
Being as short as it is and having 3 axles, would it still be putting around 2000 lbs on the back of your tow vehicle?
Would be cool to pull with your F450 to see how it pulls.
Is winter heat compatible
❤❤❤ I AM VERY INTERESTED IN LIVING OFF GRID PERMANENTLY AND I FOUND MY DREAM HOME 🏠 The price is worth it considering the freedom to travel and no light bill, water bill, mortgages it’s a great deal ❤
Crazy expensive, crazy heavy... But absolutely no compromises. What an impressive beast. And as of 2024, they have added even more impressive 5th wheel models.
OMG WOW
Santa Barbara has excellent wine.
Mini-splits in an RV. INSANITY! That thing must cool and heat great!
Liked this so much I looked up the company and scanned their inventory. They have a USED one listed for a measly $465,000.00. Most people would have to sell their paid off house and STILL take out a small mortgage to afford to live off-grid. Talk about a niche market!! Sheesh!
Love this so much. My only issue is that I intend to tow with my Cybertruck which doesn’t with dual rear axles.
And the13,500 tow limit.
But I think I’d rather have this than a second home. Getting into astronomy and astrophotography. Love the idea of heading out to clear, dark skies whenever and enjoy the all-electric, sustainable life I have at home.
I might even consider making this a full time home with a small plot and some storage units and gardens to tend.
I’d sell my home for it. Have to at $500-600k.
But I’d need a smaller lighter version so, with my luck, it’d be even more expensive lol.
With all the videos about the horrors of owning a travel trailer or RV i don’t want to spend as little as possible on something like this. You get what you pay for with this company.
Basically if Tesla and Microsoft shares go up substantially I’m in.
I'm so excited to see if they use their profits to build a "model y" so to speak. That would be amazing to have these features and something affordable
I cannot believe what I viewed. I bought a used 32’ aluminum trailer that I’ve been gutting and have written ideas in a log book for customizing my trailer. They’ve done my ideas and I’m so upset that they’ve beat me to it. An all electric trailer solar powered with the generator backup system. I love the water reclamations system they did. I didn’t think of that. I do have other ideas on my custom design ideas that they didn’t use. I’m going to raise my aluminum trailer for better living accommodations and belly storage. I will be running aluminum vents through the ceiling and belly for ac/heat. I’m still going to use a large full size canopy that when opened I can hang screening that will keep bugs out. I don’t like the all aluminum interior, just doesn’t seem homely to me. I will still use wood cabinets. This LVH is a great trailer however the price has got to come way down. I’m disappointed that a lot of my ideas are here but I’m gonna use some of theirs also! 😂
Sorry but for the price,
SO HI-Tech , to have two gate latches to secure the refrigerator/freezer doors I call BS so very tacky 😢😮😅 Hey ! The refrigerator doors doesn’t stay closed on the road, I know buy some gate latches.
Almost looks like an afterthought .
We're designing 40%+ efficiency solar thin film of fired ceramic semiconductor crystals on durable metal sheet that could take you from 2 kW to 4 or even, a few years down the line, 6 kW, and batteries that will be over 2 kWh per kg. That could enable you to power not only the home, but a BEV truck as well.
Wait till the Cybertruck comes out. It can be charged by the Living Vehicle's solar panels. The combination will be unbeatable... and very "high end."
