    Guys i just found out that Stenton Townhouse is not available for First Years. Instead I would say go for Bridges Townhouse. The only downside is the distance from main campus and other accommodations. There is a good level of social life still and not too far from the on campus club.

    • @brunv4100
      @brunv4100 2 роки тому +1

      Is Bridges really that far from the rest of campus? The accommodation office told me that it's roughly the same walking distance to the centre of campus as other premium en-suites but what I've seen from student reviews say otherwise

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому

      tbh bridges just feels far because it’s not near to the other on campus accoms (mackinder, stenton and childs). It’s not actually THAT far from campus but it also depends on which buildings you’ll regularly visit.

    Loved your video! Great energy! I am starting the foundation year program at university of reading & then want to attend the Henley business school for business management & marketing. Can you give me tips about the best housing options for foundation Yr students please. How is kendrick Hall? Also any tips about the foundation year programme? Thank you so much

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому +1

      Hi!! I’m not too sure what I can advise in terms of study for your foundation year but I’m sure you will be fine. The staff at Henley are super supportive so your progression is basically guaranteed to be smooth.
      Kendrick hall is nice but I noticed that the friends I had there weren’t able to socialise to the same extent of those that lived on campus. If you can try your best to get campus accommodation! If you ever find yourself struggling contact your star mentor (you’ll get to know them in October).

      try bridges!! it’s a bit further away but it’s still on campus and a bit cheaper. close to a 24/7 m&s and have nice showers.

    Great content! Please if i miss the welcome activities from Sept 18 to Sept 23rd, is there any implication from missing? Can i still catch up, or are there ways the UoR would assist me in catching up these events?

      Hi! There are lots of activities stemming into October and November so don't fret. You can get more information for the Me@Reading portal, Home at Halls and event bright as well as the official SU Instagram too.

    I’ve been allocated to Dunsden Crescent for September, do u know anything about what it’s like? Also what’s the workload like for first years at Henley?

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому +3

      Yes! Dunsden is really close to Park Bar, Lounge, Reception and one of the closest accommodations to Henley. You guys have THE BEST washstation on campus.
      Dunsden isn’t known for hosting parties but you’re close to Mackinder and St. george’s so you can go to those parties/pres there. I know it’s catered so you’ll get food from Park Bar but I’m not the biggest fan of their food.
      First year work load for Henley was kind of light but there is quite a lot of group work. Depending on the type of group, first year can be a breeze.

    • @loool1386

      @@chloetetts Dunsden has it's own washstation? As in only for people in that hall?

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому

      some people that live in mackinder can also access it but it’s mainly for those who live in Dunsden.

    hey loved your video information is really assuring yet I am confused in staying at halls or going for pvt accommodations
    Is life in halls that great to invest the extra amount?

    • @jakegeer113
      @jakegeer113 2 роки тому +2

      I have not been to uni yet but from what I understand halls are probably worth it since it is an easy way to get to know all the people in the same year as you. I hope this helps.

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому +2

      I would say both private and halls accomidation are expensive so for first year take money out of the equation. With that being said, being in halls makes socialising and commuting to campus MUCH easier. Going to union, lectures and town are all made simpler and more time efficient.
      In second year move to a uni house with friends in order to save some money!

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  2 роки тому +1

      :0 nooo. it’s easier to commute from campus to explore. i was able to find hiking trails, unknown dining spots and activities all while living on campus!

    I got the 'quite' room at St George...
    Will be able to focus on research with limited noice...

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  8 місяців тому

      Hey!! I think you should be fine. If you find that there is lots of noise you can always call Home at Halls. They have a 24/7 hotline and security will deal with the noise with a short lead time. Additionally, there are lots of quite places in town and on campus you can use too. My favorite's are the common rooms in St Georges, the silent levels in the library and the private rooms in the Lego/URS Building.

      @@jillharris-kuhn761 it's a quieter accomodation with rules regarding noice. That's it. Everything else you have states depends on the amount of money you are willing to spend. I am happy with my current accomodation. You coming to Reading too?

    What’s ACS

    • @chloetetts
      @chloetetts  8 місяців тому

      The ACS is the African Caribbean Society. Its a fun society that anyone can join but a lot of BAME students use it to network and find new friends. They hold a lot of events throughout the year.
