Wow, that solar array looks like it will be really impressive when it's finished. Love the design. Stay safe though Brett, our solar future needs you, preferably with all of your fingers!

I appreciate the design. I sought this video out. It’s pretty much what I’m imagining. I know there is so much possibilities. I’m sure eventually this type of design will be pretty standard to get the ultimate potential out of any system. I also like what the thundertruck is doing with their panels for portability. I’m also thinking that in the future a solar roll up awning will be quite standard. A lot of this stuff as far as design goes is still in its infancy and also price is a factor. It’s technologies like these that are going to give folks so much more freedom, it really gives me hope. Everyone deserves sovereignty in my eyes. Anywho, I really like your design!

I love the idea of traveling 100-200 miles and then camping out a few days before moving on.

Great video. I'm planning the same for my renovated (in process of 100% interior, etc.) 32', 3 slide RV/Tiny house. I hope to operate a mini-split.
Consider a 'trim-router' with a template for cutting aluminum shapes.
I would like to figure out a way to tilt, or angle the panels to face the sun squarely.

I also have the same question about the solar panels, are they made of Monocrystalline silicon or Thin film? and what is the efficiency, and the brand of them?
Thanks a lot, i really apreciate the work you guys are doing, i'm from brazil and we have allot of air coolled VW here, and plenty of sun, so there is a big pottencial for this type of conversion here... You guys really inspire me, and allot of people, in engaging into ev's and solar systems!! I have no words to express the gratitude i feel, thanks for the pionerism and all the videos and information shared!!

Awesome, looks very nice, thanks for sharing! 3kWp is impressive.
I'd be curious if anybody has looked at the "Iveco Daily Electric". It seems like the ideal electric van at the moment, you can also get it as a chassis and build your own box on top of it. Potential for lots of solar.
I'd also be curious what solar panels you chose. How is cost / kWh, efficiency and longevity compared to heavy glass panels?
I was seriously considering building a solar powered van but I now plan to build a solar powered boat instead. Much more work of course.

Hello fellow tinkerer! My friend, what are the specifications for this flexible solar panel, and where did you got them? I'm planning out my van solar array , and have been looking for big flex panels, but max I can find is about 200W panels. Was hoping to get a better coverage of my vans roof, which is about 2900mm * 1300mm, give it or take.

Are those just standard drawer slides?

Would it be possible to take a motor awning and replace it with a flexible solar cloth paneling? That way you could triple solar intake.

do you have a build list for the slides? how has this assembly held up to the elements?
