Love it, We’re all God’s children. I’m a lineman so got long hours but I’m going to go watch it after Church Sunday or Tuesday I’m off can’t wait been waiting for this movie since they first talked about it on their podcast!!!
I see what you mean about the alcohol part. Although, I know someone that was a heavy alcoholic, and he couldn’t go two hours without having a drink before he would have dramatic jitters. He was basically drinking to stay normal. I think Phil was speaking to those heavy alcoholics to show that he was in that position too, and that there’s salvation for them.
Great review, Dani! I read over the years several books of various family. Members of the Robertson family, and in one also Phil's testimony was narrated! Amazing what Jesus did and still does in Phil's life!
Oh cool, thanks for the new sub! 😃 Enjoy the movie! If you remember, you can write a quick comment back after watching it and share your thoughts about the movie! 🙂
@@HeyChannelDani Sorry it took so long. I absolutely loved the film. I wish we could see more films like this being created. We need more of this and less of what Hollyweird is giving us these days. I enjoyed how they used Phil and Big Al as the story center point to take Phil from his old heathen ways to the man who brought Big Al to Christ before he passed away. Keep producing the content and I'll keep watching. All my best. EV.
The bathroom scene did actually happen. It was actually in their trailer not the sister in laws . Al's part was true too. I saw Miss Kay interviewed several times about this movie.
Thanks for the information about the scene, I wasn’t sure. Even though in the movie it still felt out of place to me, thanks @SueProv for sharing that that scene is supposed to be true!
Ms Kay has talked about that moment. While sitting in the bathroom she was overcome with just wanting to go to sleep as a way to finally have peace. She then heard the sound of her boys coming to the door. Alan knocked on the door and told her "Mama, don't cry anymore. God is gonna take care of us." Thesw words made her realize she couldn't leave her boys.
Loved your headband and sweet tea opener! 🤣 I like that you read their books, because your knowledge of their books helped to pull in important information in your movie review.
An alcoholic that drinks too much is literally why they are an alcoholic. I have had family that drank that much and turned their brain to mush. they can literally die if they don’t have alcohol. My uncle died from liver failure. It was very sad to see.
My wife and I saw it today. I'm an avid fan of the family and know their stories well. I agree with the review (and took note of the sound editing as you suggested.) I'm glad you mentioned the mumbling part. My wife (of 41 years) tells me I mumble. I'm not so sure about that (mkkinkkeyhngky), but if you hadn't mentioned it I'd thought my hearing was the problem. I've read all the comments to this point and agree with most. I'm guessing it's hard to put Phil's entire 77 years into a movie that has a run time of 2 hours and maybe Zach and those involved with the final version felt like enough was known about the "after" due to the popularity of the TV show that they ended it where they did. There are many Christian men you have impacted their generation and changed countless lives with their testimony. I feel Phil's obedience to God's call to spread the Gospel should be mentioned in the same sentence as Billy Graham and other great men who have done so. His methods may be different, but his message is the same. Believe and be baptized - Love God and love one another. The world is a better place because of this family. Imagine what it would be like if we all tried to have the same impact.
Such a great comment @Toddcospelich6381, thank you! I’m happy to hear you were able to take my review and listened to the sound editing and agree with my review in general. Lol, that’s funny about the mumbling part 😆 I’d have to agree with your point also, about putting Phil’s Entire life into a movie of 2 hours, but yes, I’d say a majority of the people who see the movie will have seen Duck Dynasty and know that backstory. They have had a positive impact on this generation and it’s amazing to see that we’re still receptive to this kind of family, as compared to other individuals or families that get exemplified in media too.
Great review. I agree too much on how bad he was not enough on how he was changed. They should have shown how we get born again then we read the Bible and it comes alive and we renew our mind with it. Other than that it was okay!
Thanks for you comment! I agree, I wish they showed it in the movie. The redeeming factor with them not showing that change, was Phil at the very very end. It was a great way to conclude it, but like you said, it would’ve been nice to see it in the movie too. Thanks!
@@HeyChannelDani I think they did that to appease to a worldly audience perhaps. To keep them engaged and entertained then at the end capoom transformation has come from above which is what we all need. 😁❤️😁
Always happy to see your post!
I appreciate that!
I saw it last Sunday and thought it was excellent. I was reborn last Christmas and could totally relate to the story line. God Bless you all.
I’m glad to hear that! Thank you, and you too!
We saw it yesterday in Memphis Tn loved it we where the only black people in the theater of the blind.

That’s how alcoholism is… it’s a crutch so his drinking is accurate
As a alcoholic I agree..I wish to God I could kick it but his drinking was spot on and that's how it is

Amazing what Jesus did and still does in Phil's life!
Agreed! Thanks Michael!
As a alcoholic That's what you do you get app drinking and you go to bed drinking
Great review and a new sub! I'm going to see this later today.

Thank you, ma’am! Can’t afford to go see it yet, but I’ve been looking forward to this movie for many moons. Can’t wait to see it, Jack. Pumped.

Finally somebody review this movie but i guess since it hasn't got cgi or alot of killing in it then its not worth reviewing 🤦
