Just to nitpick a bit. If you separated regular weapon/health pick up from their Rockman & Forte incarnations, then you should have done the same with the Mega Man 1 style as they react differently than the others as well. They're even worse! You pause when you collect them even if you have full health/weapon energy.
I figured I'd point out the S Tank from Mega Man 7. It's literally just the M Tank from Mega Man 5, but it refills everything a bit faster.
Yes, but the Super Tank can’t summon extra lives when used with a completely full moveset! Unlike the Mystery Tank.
@mrme.484 ngl I never knew the Mystery Tank did that
@MinusBros Mega Man 5 is the easiest one so its an useless feature nobody knows about
Actually, the worst power-up is the points ball from Mega Man 1, as it does nothing to improve your gameplay experience.
It's fun to watch numbers go up.
Facts
As seen in Gamechamp3000's MM5 video, the L tank doesn't actually refill your health to full, but gives you back the same amount of health you had before the cutscene. It seems the level used to have some non-insta-kill hazards, and giving an E tank to the player would make those pointless. However, in the final game, the L tank ended up being pointless since it acts like an E tank would in that scenario :).
This is a cool shout out I was actually thinking of Gamechamp’s MM5 video when Tooterp was talking about the L tank! 😂
Fun creepy fact: the extra lives are canonically known as "Spare Bodies".
How about a video ranking each robot master based on their elements? (I.e best fire-themed robot master ranked worst to best)
Also I love the TAS reactions!
YAY Another ranking!
Hey I'm glad you make these goofy ranking videos! They're hilarious.
one of the best channels on youtube.
4:18 Yeah, that was funny how he said that.
Good thing you didn't include the score balls from mm1. (edit WAIT HOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW).
Dude big weapon pickups are OP, your explaination is good, I would usually rather have an etank or health, but 1 ups and weapon energy are about as useful for me personally in most mega man games, even though I play mostly buster only, they are very good.
Also if you are going to discuss the differences of the lack of a stop, some weapon/health ammo fills up more values than others iirc.
So the Heart Part is because in mm1 Rock was actually killing the robots and he would take their hearts as a way to get their power ups. In mm1 he is killing his family so it makes it even more dramatic. Mega Man didn't get truly campy until after 2 came out. The fact that the refights don't have heart parts is pretty cool, as it shows they are soulless wily recreations.
Gear recovery should be lower than the weapon energy. Also mm11 has multiple difficulties so that leads to better replay value than most, even if it's not as good as most of the others.
Dude I haven't played mm10 in so long, the W tank refills ALL the weapons?
Actually 1 ups are annoying in most situations, if I screw up a no-reset run and I need ammo, if I have too many lives it takes FOREVER to game over to get my weapon energy back. You'll notice I skip 1 ups alot when I play hacks and it's for the same logic, in wily stages I want to get my weapon energy back so lives = time loss.
Bolts/screws should be higher probably.
But by including them you open up the can of worms that is buyable power ups for mega man. Can't tell me that spike guard/beat aren't better than points.
Very good troll list.
As the comment below says, you forgot the S tank. Also Random Tanks
Also I was going to mention the fact that the L tank is bad cuz if you are playing a hack and you have damage going into that screen, it fills you up to the existing damage, but someone else did.
Also in Rockman and Forte, if you don’t have a weapon equipped, you don’t pick it up.
It was nice to see a sillier list from you.
finally not a reaction vid!
anyway i agree with the discs being in first place, they're fun as heck to get and i would watch you talk about the database all day long.
also *W W Tank*
Glad that you're feeling better! Thanks for the hilarious video here.
I'd love to see a ranking of all the disks both on how fun/satisfying they are to get and also the information on the card.
The L tank is actually worse than you thought. If you use cheats to set your HP to a value below full, it'll actually restore you to the HP you had before.
Fake Protoman also doesn't deal any damage, his shot just sets you to 1 HP.
But yeah it appears in the ZX Series as a artifact you can get and the person who you collected for says it never got popular but it was actually stronger than etanks so maybe the stats are not real in the code but they are in the Canon
I think Megaman II is a good game with a terrible run cycle for megaman, and it keeps me from replaying it seriously. I don't know why Capcom cannot realize that run cycle animations are very important in a game where over 50% of the thing you do in the game IS RUNNING. Put some BOUNCE in his step, please! You had this down in the original NES and MMX series. MM7's was terrible, MM8's was lackluster and 11's was just depressing. Key animations, Capcom. Key animations.
Let's not call them power-ups but items. I totally agree with CD being in first place, because I also like to collect them, so I can read their information one by one.
I'd love a video on all the discs, it would be fun seeing it in your style
While Mega Man X series doesn't have as many pick-up items, they should still be talked about.
The least useful ones are easily the Enigma cannon parts due to that weapon having an abysmally low chance of succeeding (surprisingly it's not a 0% chance) and the X7 version of DNA Core. While the most useful ones are Life Up, Sub Tank, and extra large Weapon Energy.
Health recovery is BAD when you're using the zombie Mega Man glitch in 3.
I was just following along with the list and either agreeing or seeing your point and agreeing to disagree. Then I got to the preamble before number 1 and realized something was about to go all sideways. And then it did 😂
Love your videos and you keep my love for Megan strong always with content like this.
What about the Energy Balancer, first showing up in Mega Man 6? It fills weapon energy without having to have the weapon equipped starting with whichever has the least amount of energy. I know you can buy it from the shop in the later games but, it can also be found in the stages (at least I know you can find it in MM7 if you know where to look). Another one I just thought of, the letters in MM5. They unlock Beat if you collect them all and I'd consider that a power-up.
The L-Tank is also called the Life Tank.
The Rockman and Forte pickups also work the same in Megaman 8…
I'd love to see a video about the CD data! Thx for a great video
Actually the W tanks in Megaman 10 only refill one weapon at a time, not all of them. You also left out Megaman 7's S Tank.
the L has appeared in another megaman game in megaman zx advent as an artifact & according to the game the L tank is supposedly stronger than an e tank but never took off & its been used to fight off gangsters or something but the l tank is a KEY ITEM not a item you can just use to fill your health which make it more useless
The Small Weapon Capsule restores two pips, not three. See also: the Small Energy Pellet.
The Score Balls from Mega Man 1 are the least useful pickup in the classic games.
marry me
What about the mystery capsules in Mega Man 3, you know they look like E-tanks but they have a ? On them and you shoot them to get a random power up
What about M Tank from Mega Man 11? It turns small enemies into 1 ups, along with standard M Tank functions.

Literally none of these are bad... Except the points ball
Picking up evil eenergy from this video.
Thats used to be my nickname
I'm going to give you an L tank for putting CDs at no. 1
Ooh, the X series might be interesting
The CDs are pretty fun
You still haven't done weakest Mavericks.
disc database? do it, you won't
Bro put weapon energy below actual useless pickups. Weapons are rad, you should use them more.
I'll just keep all the weapon energy pickups for myself then.
true because i used to play buster only (except for bosses) and saw mega man games as a really hard but after some time i learned to manage the weapons and they make it soo much easier but i still agree energy pickups are better
Very epic first
Fushigi!!!!!!
Bro u gotta b board out your mind doing this 😅😅
First
Let's get this out of the way for everyone possibly complaining. Power Ups in Megaman are Collectables. So weapons like Leaf Shield and Mega Buster don't count, but stuff like the MM&B CDs and Evil Energy do. You're welcome Tooterp.
