Well now, I would love to play the pan flute but have never come across one. Where did you find yours?
Hi Bevani, I'm pleased that you would love to play the pan flute. A woman of your musical versatility will have no problem playing the pan flute. You'll be playing as a professional in no time. Although the pan flute can play accidentals, I've found the easiest way to play it is in the key to which it is tuned (as a diatonic instrument). Mine is a 15-pipe Romanian Alto pan flute tuned to the Key of C major in two octaves. Like diatonic harmonicas, pan flutes can be tuned to any key. Pan flutes can be purchased on Amazon.com from several concerns. I have no commercial or financial interest with whom mine was purchased; but since you asked from where I found mine, it was purchased from the Pan FluteShop.com based in Hawaii with Brad White (pan-flute / pan-pipe player, professional musician, and a long time music teacher). He can be reached at (800) 784-4189 or (808) 457-1946. Each pan flute is handmade from maple wood, and can be tuned to any key of your preference at the time of purchase. What about mics for the flute? what would be your suggestion on how to properly mic the flute for performance? thx!
If I have a flute in a key of G, should the song to be played has to be transposed to the key of G as well?..

That is pretty typical - you can find some great cheaper flutes on the highspirits.com/ website between 100-150 - Odell does put flutes on sale too!
