I worked for 4 years as a backend developer, but didn't pay much attention to data structures and algorithms. I spent most of my time learning about frameworks and new technologies. But at some point, I began to realize that I could not think effectively on complex problems. Now I'm here and I'm starting to learn algorithms to train my ability to solve complex problems.

I'm a mechanical engineer by profession for 5 years with a BSc in Aeronuatical Engineering and with an MSc in Manufacturing . Now I want to switch my career to software engineering JUST BECAUSE I LOVE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING. Back then I hated it, and never understood programming. My last job was as a design engineer for an IOT company, and there I met these software engineers. I built up a good conversation with them just to understand what are they doing. IT SOUNDED INTERESTING to me but I knew I'm not smart enough to do it because I hated it and didn't understand it back in the uni. I had the interest but had this PHOBIA at the same time.
Now it's been 3 months since I started my journey coding with Python and data scinece , and I love it. I really want to enter the software engineering field.
    Wish me luck.

@Power Couple, nice video, thank you! in most of your other videos you highlighted the fact that how you got into faang zone without a cs degree. Are all the rejections from faang companies? and they were also located in India? because at least in India IITians are gives utmost respect and hence get a head start in any tech interview even when the person has a textile engineering degree form IIT. Because indians assume that an IITian can learn anything. Now coming back to your case: having a B.Tech mechanical from IIT + a masters from uni Illinois and filing in 527 interviews? really unbelievable!!

Can people with non engineering background such as Law get into coding? Personally I don't require to have to go to faang but to be atleast a good enough programmer according to the industry and market standards.

I think it really depends on the level of skills you have.
