I worked for 4 years as a backend developer, but didn't pay much attention to data structures and algorithms. I spent most of my time learning about frameworks and new technologies. But at some point, I began to realize that I could not think effectively on complex problems. Now I'm here and I'm starting to learn algorithms to train my ability to solve complex problems.

I'm a mechanical engineer by profession for 5 years with a BSc in Aeronuatical Engineering and with an MSc in Manufacturing . Now I want to switch my career to software engineering JUST BECAUSE I LOVE SOFTWARE ENGINEERING. Back then I hated it, and never understood programming. My last job was as a design engineer for an IOT company, and there I met these software engineers. I built up a good conversation with them just to understand what are they doing. IT SOUNDED INTERESTING to me but I knew I'm not smart enough to do it because I hated it and didn't understand it back in the uni. I had the interest but had this PHOBIA at the same time. Now it's been 3 months since I started my journey coding with Python and data scinece , and I love it. I really want to enter the software engineering field. Wish me luck.

The first fact is he studying from abroad gives him all access to the global market faang but the Indian market is very,competitive 😅 and lots of them from IIT only or A grade colleges. Motivation is good but reality is sometimes disappointing when the job,demands a A college degree.

Are all the rejections from faang companies? and they were also located in India? because at least in India IITians are gives utmost respect and hence get a head start in any tech interview even when the person has a textile engineering degree form IIT. Because indians assume that an IITian can learn anything. Now coming back to your case: having a B.Tech mechanical from IIT + a masters from uni Illinois and filing in 527 interviews? really unbelievable!!

my thoughts too. but I think for people like us chances are slim to almost none. he graduated from IIT which is not a small thing, trust me, even if its not in CS. though I think we can if we try hard enough guess we just have to grind.
