Fantastic video as always. Around 19:30 you were talking about fighting the battle again with mid tier troops, I’m excited to see that. Whenever I call an army in my campaign it’s filled with absolute horsesh*t troops (tier 2 & 3) who get wrecked until I get my army in reinforcement. I’m not sure why this is happening but it makes early battle miserable since the enemy opens with its best units. I set my units to prefer high tier too but it’s still giving me the scrubs lol
If they are units from your own kingdom then force feed those divisions some high-end troops. I cover this in an episode but it's vital to subsidize the weak ass armies that your companions will probably form.
@@HeadlessHorsemanProductions ill look for it. my companions definitely bring me trash but im a khuzait vassal too & the lords' armies are pitiful 90% of the time too lol might start a new campaign so i can make my own kingdom, it looks like its more fun that way
@@rampart236 yeah the enemy will eventually be FRUSTRATINGLY weak for you soon - I may need to make a video of how to make Bannerlord more difficult eventually haha! I GUESS that's a good problem.
@JugglingJuggalos hahaha, they take ages to train up, or so it feels. Try some Forrest Bandits. With a good rouge ability, you can get decent intermediate archers that CAN be later trained into Fians. You just have to hunt forrest bandits with a hammer until you level up rouge, like wack-a-mole! 🤣
For me it is the 7th where my mounted family members go. I picked the 7th Cav as there is a lot of history in the U.S. for that division (not all good).
lol... I love introducing history into it... Was Custer...? lol... Good discussion fellas, love that the reserve/elite unit is starting to be widely adapted.
21:29 just make sure your shield wall is very far away from them. Shields do break against arrows. And a 2 quiver archer has enough arrows to break a shield on their own.

I started war with the minor factions and realized each minor faction has their own special units u can't find anywhere in game! Plus if I take the merc groups out, the major factions have to fight with the faction clans, we'll see how it goes
Just had my first siege badly outnumbered and used your archers in the courtyard tactic squares at the gate and stairs and got bored of waiting for them to all die it was awesome they no chance of getting in
Leaders for SURE. Leadership/Steward/Tactics and add some medicine skill but also you rarely will get vassals exceeding level 30. I had one or two that was like level 39-40 but only in a super long campaign - so mostly vassals are kindy weak. Fortunately the RNG guys that spawn with them can be VERY good units!
Do you have any good strategies/tactics for when you just have your single party? My current play through I’m doing a rags to riches bandit army. No vassal hood so I’m hunting for a keep to start amassing bandits. The drawback is I can’t form an army so I’m running with ~150 party size. Lineup so far is mainly sea raiders with some brigands for infantry, then forest bandits for archers and I’m debating cavalry whether to go highwaymen (jav cav) or marauder horse archers
@macsonson1390 hi! If you don't mind my input, I'm doing something similar with a bandit based army. My Stewardship skill has gotten fairly high, so I can field a fairly big force now, and I advanced to owning a Kingdom by luckily defeating some hapless rebels early on. I don't generally take a lot of cavalry. Approximately 1/5th of my units are Cavalry. And I tend to split them into groups of two horse archers and one or two heavy-ish cav. Currently, 1x heavy infantry, 1x Skirmisher Infantry, 2x Archer Infantry, 2x Archer Cavalry, 1x Heavy Cavalry, 1x Skirmisher Cavalry. I change the groups about pre battle depending on the situation. Two groups of mounted archers can provide versatile mobile crossfire units, and I always use my Heavy and Skirmisher cav as a blocking line and counter charge screen. As shown by watching this channel. Anyway, I hope this is of some use to you.
I just happened to be doing some practice right now for a new campaign(aserai), so I may have a video later today or tomorrow showing how tactics can be applied to the early game and with small(100 or less) forces... Stay tuned!
@@Warhead-haggisI’m about to siege Varcheg with my 150 vs it’s 600. I’m hoping to get a sally out and use the siege camp as a peekaboo ridge situation and maneuver my archers to sneak in the gate and turn into a reverse siege using their defenses against them. I’ll post an update on how that goes
Do you have thoughts on when i should separate from my sworn kingdom and create my own in my campaign? Ive got 9 fiefs and 500k in debt (i think from my kingdom using mercenaries?). Ive been waiting to get more cities and completely stock up/build my castles and cities, as well as using the aserai to help weaken the huge vlandian and khuzait kingdoms.
500k in debt??? I hope you mean you have 500k lol... Never heard of debt like that. I think you're close, depends on the map situation AND your skill as a commander. If you're near a safe place(edge of the map?), then maybe make a saved game and give it a try. All failure is experience.
Great content as always. But you are always outnumbered, i wanna learn how to approach when we outnumber the enemy and we are the stronger side. Can u do a vid for us newbies? If u already have a vid like that sorry in advance.
I can add some of these to this practice campaign, but usually when we outnumber them it's a nasty, savage affair. Another guy asked for when the enemy circle formations, which is usually easily destroyed by archers. Will see what comes up!
And by the way. I just start the game one week ago, and you became one of my favorite chanel. Love the war vétéran vibe you have. Keep the good work you'r amazing
