i like to think they both understand that they can talk to one another, even if it's occasionally a shout. they both understand not to take the shouting personally and use each other to vent a bit,
I also love how right before that you can hear H. Jon Benjamin trying his damndest not to laugh. I wouldn't be surprised if he and Larry Murphy were actually playing pat-a-cake in the recording booth for that scene 😆

Fun fact the coach from Home Movies is the voice of Bob! “Home Movies” I couldn’t get into when I was a kid? But I give that show respect b/c that voice actor that played him came a long way playing Bob in “Bob’s Burgers”
You’re right, I dunno what it is but something about that line just makes me crack up. It does sound very natural. I think it’s the surprise in Teddy’s voice. The way he goes from genuine shock to outrage is hilarious. The voice actor really sells it.
One thing i like about teddy is hes always polite. I mean he just yelled at Bob, disrupting the mood of the restaurant and immediatley apologizes to the only customer there for his actions. How can you not like him
"how can you not like him" uh because he has no boundaries, is unstable and prone to outbursts, and gets aggressive and demanding when things dont go his way
Teddy is one of the best adult characters, and I'm being 100% serious. He's cool, knows how to fix things, is nice with kids, will pay for his meal every single time, encourages Linda and treats her like a sister, tries his absolute hardest to not insult Bob and most importantly, laughs at their terrible, godawful jokes. Only bad thing about him is that he can get extremely weird and unstable sometimes. Makes you feel like he doesn't understand the concept of boundaries and just a simple...no lol. Which is interesting, because he's also awful at saying no to people.
And I think that makes him so endearing. He's clearly good at a lot of things, so you want him to have friends, which makes it hilarious when you see him try and fail. If he wasn't good at anything AND annoyed everyone, his schtick would get old fast.
@@Macroprosopus I was gonna include that part in my original comment initially actually, but I had to think about it honestly. From what I understand, many of these scenes are developed through H. Jon Benjamin and Larry Murphy riffing on each other. So, whenever Teddy's being impossible or Bob's having a meltdown, it's good to know that they really are coming from a place of friendship.
I love that even though Bob was kicking him out, Teddy still wanted to pay his bill. Pretty sure Bob would have let it go, but Teddy still cared enough to pay for his meal.
My friend and I have this same kind of thing. We'll both start yelling at each other and acting really mad at each other, but the anger is essentially all just on the surface and never extends beyond even the sentence being spoken. Which is why you can be going at each other at the top of your lungs and then the next sentence both be immediately back to normal. It's a nice way to relieve stress, since yelling can help a lot with stress relief and it's usually not easy to find a good excuse to yell at somebody.
Teddy and Bob are so like a married couple though. They are my faves. "Middle of the day and your phones at 23 percent?" So relatable and my parents get mad at me for this exact reason haha.
