Uncovered Treasures: Incredible Findings Of Copper Coins During The Quest For A Gold Ring!

- On this day I helped Mike search for a lost gold ring. The property owner lost the gold wedding band some days before and thought it was in a certain part of his yard. Mike and I searched for a couple hours without any luck. If it was lost in that area I am pretty certain we would have found it. But we will try again another day.
The property owner gave us permission to search some adjoining fields so we split up the detection and went out into the fields for the last hour or two. We searched for coins, relics, buttons, and anything else we might find. That part of the day was a successful detection.

Back to the East Coast and less dry adventures!
As a coin collector I thank you those other shows make me grind my teeth as they destroy the value of their coins. The more you clean them the less their worth. I will gladly add a as is coin, if it has age, but stay away from polished or cleaned coins.
You've shown us before, but I think this is one of the best examples that clearly shows the destruction of the patina. Beautiful barn.
Thanks Chigg & Mike for taking us along while we stay nice & warm with our Frosty beverages.
It's always nice to see you work with Mike. Another good guy.
Awesome video, Chigg !! 😎👍
Nice demonstration ✌🍀
Chiggs, so nice to see you out with Mike. Bummer on not locating the wedding ring. But, the coins were a bonus. Take care.👍👏👏
Love going along with you on all your adventures Chigg
Thanks for the video! Enjoy watching your channel and keeping up with all your outdoor adventures. Always waiting to see the next one.
Some days I need to show my appreciation.
I appreciate it. Thanks so much.
Very cool seeing how you clean things. Great video, Chigg.
Great barn! Wonder what the inside looks like.
LOOK UP THATS CLOUDS , KEEP WARM.😮😊
Serious case of barn envy!
Great bonus. I’ll change my ways. Thanks Chigg.
I've been watching You for some time and have seen Your method (long version).
It is impossible to argue against for any copper coins. I have seen other channels
hosing down ancient coins obliterating any detail that might have been recovered,
as you demonstrated. Happy to see you still preaching it.
1819. Frederic Chopin had just given his first private piano concerto performance - a concerto he wrote - the previous year, at age 8. Beethoven was still alive and would be for another 8 years when this coin was minted. ❤❤
I’ve learned two things from watching your videos so far Chig. (1) the fingernail and face oil on a copper instead of using water. That water destroyed some old Pennie’s that I tried it on.
(2) How to ground the carrot before trying to pinpoint.
Thanks for the great videos.
Face oil so much brighter. Keep those great videos coming Aquagigger. Lol love them all. Merry Christmas to you and wife and family.
Great day for you chigger love the fines 👍
Thanks!
Thanks so much again!
We think you proved your point. Great video!
The brass tag with the name on it is off of a dog collar, for when their hunting dogs get lost.
Looks like Mike found a luggage tag
Thanks Chig.
I recommended your way of cleaning a few days ago on a group post. I encountered the same thing at Detectival last year. I found an 1888 Queen Victoria Penny. In the field it looked great with the mud rubbed off the high spots. Later on in my hotel room I was cleaning my other finds in the bathroom sink and as I am cleaning the penny with my toothbrush, I hear your voice in my head from the last video where you did the same demonstration! I can see the detail, but I have to use a loupe and get it in the right light. Lesson learned.
Thanks for sharing another great video 👍
I'm here. Sorry im late. Bad day at work. Your video will most likely cheer me up.
I hope so. No worries on the lateness... but you had me worried.
Nice finds, thanks Chigg.
Mr. Chiggles Diggles!
I got the chills just watching. Brrrrr. Hope you go back and find the ring. 👍
Thanks for showing us the difference between the right way and the not so right way to "clean" a coin.
Less dry and not near as warm lol. I mean it’s beautiful there on the east coast but boy the desert was a nice change.
Your back. 😊
Definitely prefer the finger rubbed face oil method!
From the desert to the farm field.
Looks a little chilly out there
I wrote the Bottle digging book "The Field Guide to American Trash ", and my new channel on YT is "The DownEast Digger ".
Ive enjoyed your channel! In fact it was the inspiration to finally host my own channel. Been digging bottles here in New England for 50 years!
In my experience of those garden find coins that are cleaned, it never really ends well.
Winter is coming! 😊
Oh wow you made it back home ? How was your vacation out west...❤😊
I Definitely like the oil and finger result.
Jewelry never lands where you expect it to. It's probably outside of the marked area. Good luck!
That one coin has probably been hit a few times with a plow. I almost missed the bonus section, just happened to see how long the video was and thought let’s see what else there is.
Precious!
Come back to DOWN EAST MAINE CHIG! well maybe after the frigid cold weather...
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
I hope you can find the gentleman’s ring.
I’ve found of coin is powdery looking. Best to do minimal as shown . If it’s a deep green Patina and not powdery it’s fine to clean with water . But it’s all a risk as results can be variable
Hay I know exactly where my white gold class ring is middle of lake with black muck bottom in about 20 foot of water . It has been there since 1974.
We took boat out in middle went swimming then decided to flip boat over and wash it out. Forgot ring was On seat.
Hey chigg, you going to digstock in NC this weekend?
Hand claw and probobscis oil for the win.
Thanks man no water for me
Bit confusing Chiggy, you back from your desert adventure?
The smashed up coin looks better cleaned with the brush and water. The nice 1819 looked better with thumbnail and face oil :)
That piehole ring X^D
Beau, you NEVER ever use water on copper coins that come from the ground. Water destroys it. Water is only good for silver and gold.
Finger scraping looks far better!
A tree!and water!
Good days or bad. Thanks.
Most awesome! Thanks so much!
@@aquachigger Have had a few more "Good" days thanks to your videos. Thank you.
Bucket list for me. Large cent. Maybe one day. I’m in ga Cherokee nation.
I like your method of cleaning copper coins better!!!! Finger nail and some nose oil, go figure!!!!👍👍👍
Yay
If the coins are that degraded, are they worth much to collectors, in that condition?
Depends on the date and how much someone wants it to flush out their collection. This coin.... not so much.
Definitely finger and face oil. Thank you.
Hey Chigg
Do you ever goto north new Jersey? I have coins i like you to look at can i sent them to you ? I love your show patsy 😊
Andres pencils, no water
It wasnt Gollum looking for his precious was it?
You reckon Kenny came across it and took it?
Howdy
Howdy
With the copper, less cleaning is more.....just face oil is good enough..
The numismatic value is greater with cleaning the coins with your fingernail and oil from your skin. Collectors want the patina.
39th like, love your videos, chigg
I like it better without water
Not many large cents to be found in Arizona...
👊🤩👍
Using water never a good idea on coppers.
Yea your home get to digging
No water please.
Definitely ruins the coin
💍⭐️👍🥶⭐️
I am fingernail and face oil all day. I think water ruins copper coins
What happened you lost interest in desert nomadic life😅😅😅
Sorry but i hate the East coast
