Nothing touches this mix period. This is the greatest sound of deep dub in its essence. Time is irrelevant it sounds better actually in 2024. More therapeutic. More valuable now.!
Came across Kryptic Minds back in 2012 and it was "love at first sight". The love deepened when I spent 2 months hiking in the Nepal Himalayas to this mix among others. It still amazes me everytime I listen and get chills from it. Amazing production, one of its kind!
this if what dubstep was meant to be played like, a year later and it all started to change and the true roots where either forgotten or not looked over by lot of people that listened to the genre.....such a shame the commercial industry ruined it for those that where true to its root...the true sound of dubstep helped me through a lot of dark times, its unique and beautiful...
James Cheetham Deep is spreading. The scene is stronger than ever. You won't get the same energy you had in 2006, but the sound is still alive and well. Not only that but people are really innovating in the genre. Mala in Cuba was an incredibly unique take on dubstep and one of the best albums of 2012. Author's Forward Forever was in my opinion the best thing to happen to dubstep since Burial's Untrue. Truth continually puts out dark bangers on an almost monthly basis. Reconstrvct is arguably the biggest, best event in dubstep history.
Same thing happens in all genres of music at the end of the day. Starts making a name for itself.... becomes commercially viable.... then Ministry of sound or whoever start making compilations.... End of story..... Drum and bass was exactly the same but things always sort themselves out in the end. Just because some commercial labels hop on the bandwagon it's not the end of a genre. It's just something that has to be endured until it goes away.
touch your soul music Deep and dark is at its highest, shiniest moment right now. I think it'll never get any more widespread because it basically is meditation music, meant to be listened to more so than have a huge fucking lightshow and party. So be it, but I enjoy this more than any other aural simulation on earth.
I could just hate on the commercial variants that proceeded dubstep. but I think that darker dubstep always portrayed a mood not very digestible on a commercial market, I prefere the moodier offbeat sound and it still exists to this day but the commercial world will always do what it does and it will never define a piece of art for me but rather will do what industries do and mass produce products onto the consumer market. Kryptic minds make hard music, it's great that people do make hard music and I will continue listening to hard as fuck music.
Ian Contreras Listening to it again it is so damn frustrating to hear what Osiris Music can STILL be today. Lovely fusion of dubstep and techno/rolling vibes. I really miss these days. Everything was fresh as heck.
maybe just not accustomed to the sound :) - if you want to give this another shot try individual songs instead of this mix such as 1000 Cities, Life Continuum, Six Degrees, Wondering Why, One of Us, Code 46, Rule of Language or simply play the Can't Sleep album. Cheers and good luck exploring!
Any chance at a re-upload by anyone? Original link is down and I was hoping the file would be better quality (though this vid isn't too bad, but you know, youtube audio :P )

Still back here in 2023. Kryptic Minds is timeless. Deep, brooding, and atmospheric…still better than everything else that came after.

@@Aaron_Zander Still listening. Untouched Masters.
Back when dubstep was organic, dark and real.
What would qualify as a non-meme genre?
Still is like this mate, if you don't count brostep.
Yeah there's still plenty of dubstep being produced. Just gotta know where to look lol
it still is.
Spicy comment
2022 and still rinsing this.
1/01/21 listening to this gem high af.
What a beautiful day to be alive.
Brings back memories, a DMZ night, played for nearly 3 hours and half of the tunes no one ever heard of. Pure genius
The peak of dubstep for me

ahh the good ol days. let brostep evolve and commercial dubstep burn out on its own. true roots listeners will be underground away from the chaos.
Dubstep belongs in the underground. The secret warehouse shows are where it's at. Not the 10000 people event centers lol
I will not let this genre die.
Bro step lives on because ravers are lame now 😂 sorry. But I live for this music! 😤😂
Tracklist was fucking amazing, an entire set of dubs 90% of them unnamed
such a raw sound wish it would go back to this
