Fantastic! Al Hirt was the first professional trumpet player that I ever heard live in concert when I was first going into high school back in the middle 1960's. HIs music was always full of spirit and a lot of fun. Thanks for bringing some of that back today with this excellent arrangement! I'm getting my horn out now to play along! I absolutely LOVE what you have done with your videos and your "now it's your turn" invitation! You are still being an educator, and it shows! BTW, I still have that original Al Hirt album!
Philip, thanks so much for the kind words. Once a teacher, always a teacher I guess. Glad you're enjoying the karaoke versions. Have fun and keep playing on! 🎺
I haven't played trumpet since I was in high school 2012 but watching your videos made me want to start playing again and so I bought myself and honestly I need a lot of practice to be able to play how I did back when I was playing daily xD
Wow! I had to look that up - never heard of that. OMG. Harry James tying a wet Kleenex to his trumpet and playing - how bizarre! forum.amcorner.com/threads/herb-and-harry-james.16209/ 🎺🤧
my neighbors ask me ... how do you learn so fast? I answer them ... mr b covers of course ........ thanks for so many lessons. please route 101 herb alpert😀

I missed this when first posted -- love it!
Thanks for another winner ! Back in the day my parents didn't go a week without Al on the record player.
Herb Alpert was the fave in my house, but we did have 1 or 2 Al Hirt albums.

Nice job, I'm finding I really didn't appreciate Al as much as I should have when I was younger. Maybe it was because of those Kleenex commercials?
