Hi Jamie, I just watched another video of yours. The Jaws Tour 40th Anniversary. I wish i was with you guys on this tour. I also developed an obsession watching Jaws so many times. I been to the Vineyard twice. The closest I ever got to seeing anything was when I went on a bus tour and the driver drove us by the Jaws bridge and she showed us the beach were most of it was filmed. Then we were driving along and she tells everybody look to the left and all we saw was land and many trees. She told us Jackie Onassis house was way into the woods which we could not see anything. I told her drive us by her house. She said if I could I would but She couldn't. Thanks for the nice updates and memories. The woman who played Mrs. Kintner seemed like a very nice lady. I read she was a Martha's Vineyard resident. Did she ever mention how much they paid her for her appearance in Jaws? Probably not. I think I told you she passed away from Covid, and the article said she was in Portland Maine when she passed. Thank you again Jamie for all the memories. You are one lucky guy you and your friend. I actually googled Brody's house in the movie and it said the house was torn down and rebuilt which I did see in photos.
I'm in UK and wonder if I'll ever get there. So pleased for you two and your experience. There is something so special about that film...its hard to put your finger on.
What a great trip, I'd love to visit the island and see some of that stuff. I think it's criminal that they left the Orca to rot as that would have been the icing on the cake. I didn't realise mrs Kitner was a local islander!
People were trespassing on the Murphy's land & stealing pieces of Orca 2/the resinkable one. So they moved what was left. And Universal Studios destroyed the original Orca( that was in the backlot of Universal Studios) but Speilberg got a frame pieces off it. The bell & steering wheel & a few more bits. It was & still is 1 of the greatest movies ever made. And is the best shark movie ever made.
I was obsessed with this film at 11 lol, used t watch it everyday after school lol. My youngest so lovs it too, sid I'll save up to go to the US, visting relatives on the East Coast, including Martha's Vineyard, then visting relatives in L.A and Universal Studios etc
FYI the Old Sculpin Gallery was the reference Joe Alves used to fashion Quint's shack. Authentic East Coast. And the scene where Robert Shaw assembles the Greener gun during the sharks first appearance was shot over 50 times. Because Bruce couldn't get out of his trailer and Spielberg had nothing else to shoot.
I went in 2010 and got all the spots. And I'm pretty darn sure I got the rock that Hooper sat on, same indentation in it....Idk if this was when they were preparing to move the lighthouse back and maybe removed it??? The area looked different in a pic I saw after the move....
I don't agree with you that Jaws 4 was the worst. I feel Jaws 3 was terrible! Not 1 original cast member from the first two movies, not even a discussion of them if I remember correctly. I can go on with a lot more. So I declare the 3rd as being the worst, poorly made 3D attempt.
