I just came here to compliment Santosh for speaking his heart out. STUDENTS should listen to him and do due diligence. Whatever he mentioned that's completely true and people will surely understand if they are staying in US/Canada for around a decade (after that return is difficult but not impossible.) I am saying because of my 11 years experience in US and have started process of return to bangalore. All what he said is true for USA too. Hope everyone to be happy wherever they are!

I am Indian Canadian. Each and every point this person made on this video are true to the point. Canadian health care is free, but you don’t get an appointment to see the doctors. If you go to emergency care you have to wait at least 5hours. Government is too much liberal. 10 years down the line, Canada is going to see bad consequences. Native Canadians are highly against Immigration. As a result I notice lot of racism towards immigrants. Housing prices are skyrocketing. Rents are high. Moreover, there is control over rent. Bad days are ahead unless conservatives take over the government. I have hopes on Conservatives. No option. Good thing about Canada is you work hard you make more money. Clean environment. Clean roads. Food is affordable. Schools are free. There are quite a more good things about Canada.

One thing that Santosh missed is the changing sentiments of native and naturalized Canadians towards newcomers (all nationalities). They see the newcomers more as a drain on the taxpayer than as contributors. Twitter is rife with people bad mouthing newcomers when the Canadians themselves are struggling to survive.
In my opinion, the govt seems to prioritize immigration over the welfare of citizens. Homelessness and drug usage is skyrocketing and queues outside food banks are miles long.
As Santosh pleaded, do thorough research before coming over. The mentality of "let's get there first and then we can figure it out" will lead you into a nightmare.

You are not ready to adjust your lifestyle to the new place and expecting dal and samosa wherever u go- impossible.
I am surprised the bank does t offer fixed mortgage- the interest rate will be high for fixed so people go for flexible rate. Then when rates go high - they cry.
Inflation is everywhere after Covid . Medical waiting was like this for decades. That was not new.

I agree with Santosh broadly on the issues or cons side. There are pros too but I do realize this discussion on challenges need to go out to avoid people from getting attracted to thr glamo5side of things which come after years or decades. Secondly the extreme examples or points about desis buying up houses etc is to be taken witu grain of salt. The point about people buying up more houses for business or investment has been going on for decades and its broad based - people from diverse nations and continents and even locals do it. The concentration of desis in certain pockets like Brampton is what he is referring to. Just try to put this in context.

At no point in past you had 2 million people coming in every year! This has put immense strain on housing markets and made rents go up like crazy. In front of my eyes the prices of detached houses in KW have gone up from 400k to 1.2 million in a span of just 5 years. Yes people did but multiple properties to put on rent but the rental market was never this hot !
