Simon's acting is sublime, Alan having a reminder of his panic attacks made me cry laughing and the mental reminiscent pause for chewits is textbook Partridge. An absolute Alan masterclass in why we find him so funny.
I like that he is happy for Alan that he got the peppery hint of the wine.
Mid Morning Matters is just Alan Partridge boiled down to it's essence
Drinking a glass of wine has never been the same for me since seeing this , " Bang - Pepper ! " is now required every time I take a sip . My local wine tasting society have shunned me as a result .
What were you getting ?
A panic attack
😂
MMM was the best ever partridge. Wish they’d do more.
@Steven Edwards - To be honest I haven’t liked anything post-MMM season 1. That was the last thing with Iannucci’s direct involvement I believe and I feel like there has been a sharp decline in quality since then. I did hear, though, that the recent “From the Oasthouse” podcast was really good - have you listened to it?
@@gammaALAN yes its OK,just something I had on in the background, think I laughed once but it's quite interesting
@@gammaALAN No way! The talk with the fox hunter and the Partridge Playhouse drama production were brilliant!
You have to watch it again muted to notice how significant the physical side of the character is, like the way he holds the wine, the 'please validate what I just said' face and the hand movements. Such a well developed character, absolute master of cringe!
1:04 I love the way she flinches when he says "Bang!" 😆
Haha Its such an Alan thing to do, Tasting different wines only to decide the best one by its price value. Top comedy writing as usual.
A masterclass in drink acting.
The man's knowledge of wine is unparalleled. Surprised he didn't notice hints of Toblerone in that one red though, thought that was kind of a no-brainer.
I love the fact he is getting progressively more hammered as it goes on the way he says "bottle to bottle" he like slurs abit it's fantastic
'Wine words' - priceless.
Can I just shock you? I like wine.
Despite what I just said earlier.
Can I ask do you fancy going for a drink later? ... no! ok no problem...
This is just good radio..... It really is
Such an under rated actor, Stan and Ollie he was amazing.
And comedy great too
"You've got a good nose....and so have you"
Love how he gets progressively more drunk and obnoxious.
Rosie is such a great character in this....she's so bubbly and good-humoured ,yet Alan always manages to upset her.
I love when he shouts bang and puts his hand in front of her face and she gets scared 1:04
A lazy forklift driver WOULD in fact linger on the pallet, so that’s in fact very good humour.
@@jambutty2218 I reckon it was cos he was getting drunk. At the beginning of that clip when he's like "they're all good" he's getting tipsy. Tim makes a joke and he's too done to notice
@@jambutty2218 always a possibility. But if you look at that whole exchange, he's clearly drunk
This really is incredible acting! Butter my arse!
Let's have a little itty bitty.. Of scritty polliti!!
Lingers on the pallet like a lazy forklift driver
Been waiting ages for this particular one to come up! Always cracks me up when Alan's chair reclines at 2:46. 🤣
Alan half canned i love it...
The best comedy one-liner of all time:
"Like a lazy forklift truck driver".
🤣🤣🤣🤣!!
"Wines have hints."
Chewits! Genius. In other parts its full on Madeley!
No. He couldn't have been less like him, not that I've got anything against Richard far from it. As I said to Judy today as I brought her up a cup of tea this morning in bed ..no sugar, she's on a diet, you understand....not that I take sugar, anyway, myself.
BANG, pepper!
The dead air is haunting
The way he's getting slowly pissed 😂
Probably would have preferred a bottle of Blue Nun.
Simon’s terrified discombobulated facial expressions are comedy genius
Wine words LOL
Did Rosie wonder if he’d showered? He didn’t look like he’d showered.
@@playertoo3749 OMG, is it really her? Hard to recognize her without the bandage on her foot
Distilled Partridge. First class.
These were just pure comedy gold.
Chewits had me laugh out loud
“What are the prices , individually?”
Omg it's Lynn lol 😆 xxxx
No Rosie that’s wrong 😂
Comedy genius!
No Rosy that’s wrong😂
It's the versatility
The best flavour.
That was Midnight Train To Georgia by Gladys Knight.I`m assuming she is referring to Georgia in the southern United States and not the former Soviet republic where presumably the midnight train would be taking dissidents....to....the ...death camps. Here`s the police with every breath you take.
Rosie There great there all great 😂
Lingers on the pallet lol
Brilliant
Can I shock you? I like wine.
“Wine words”
Back of the net 🤣
when we gonna be invited back to Alan's bachelor pad lol
I liked the one in the second series .
' do you want some beef swans ?'
"I hit a swan fairly recently, in the car.... actually funnily enough, that was the first time I ever hear a swan 'quack'"
Lazy forklift truck driver, brilliant 🤣🤣🤣
Coogan may be the best actor in known history.
I think it’s brilliant the way he’s playing it. Not pissed but slightly drunk.
It’s been a while since I’ve used wine words 🤣🤣
0:26 🤣🤣🤣
Can I shock you? I like wine, despite what I said earlier.
"CHEWITS!"
what are you getting? a panic attack lmao
Lynne 🤣👌🏻
The mid morning matters app needs updating so it works again
Wines have hints
Pepper!
Bang..! Pepper... 👍
A panic attack induce by the fumes of a mid priced glass of plonk !
Why can't we have cracking, cracking radio like this -'It's musky' - rat, I'm thinking, or 'Chewits'.
Good joke about the forklift driver
Wines have notes
Bang! Pepper
Chewits 🤣
“You’re not leaving this comment section, until you get the full cost of this wine…”
Just give him half a bottle of blue nun
How do I get a line I've written for A.P to S C to compliment this sketch? I've never tried Twittering. 😅
As Alan intetviews go this isn't that bad, he relatively intreasted in the subject, and not really rude to his guest.
CHEWITS! 😆👍
BWHAHAHAHA!
This is the actor who plays Lynne by the way
No it is not, this is Rosie Cavaliero and not Felicity Montague, I can see how you got confused though 🙂
@@glenbowley8114 my bad. Thank you for correcting me. I hate it when i get partridge wrong.
Alan liked this wifey, once he had a couple of drinks he relaxed into it.
Jesus not now.. Lol
This wine tastes, tastes like Chewits
Much better than 'This Time'.
Anyone know name of that actress ?
BANG - - - - - pepper
Is this Lynn from the TV show?
What about Blue Nunn?
We need a third series (you shits)
Chewits!
Bang pepper.
Lots of pepper. Very peppery
Kinda surprised that there wasn't a hint of hot ham.
Errrmmm , mmmm, itsss, eeerrrrmmm .......CHEWITS!
What are you getting. A panic attack
“….no Rosie that’s wrong!”
One of the most underrated partridge quotes and one of my favourites.
@@leot6749mine too🤣 along with "cheesy onion, cheese and onion"
