That was the last thing with Iannucci’s direct involvement I believe and I feel like there has been a sharp decline in quality since then. I did hear, though, that the recent “From the Oasthouse” podcast was really good - have you listened to it?
You have to watch it again muted to notice how significant the physical side of the character is, like the way he holds the wine, the 'please validate what I just said' face and the hand movements. Such a well developed character, absolute master of cringe!
