Solasta 2 is the big one for me. I played the hell out of the first and still dive back in for a run every few months. My favorite 5th edition video game depiction. I just love that we get to make our own party in it. And with 500 hours I even played it for more time than BG3 overall. Though I feel BG3 might catch up because each new run takes more than 100 hours and all the mods coming out have me planning future runs already.
same, it just has that unique feel to it... even with the awful character models, that actually makes it sweeter if you get me, when they crack jokes among them makes you appreciate the narrative and the D&D adaptation better... I know it sounds weird. The trimmed down visuals and music overall make it more authentic. BG 3 is a masterpiece - both games are fantastic - so I guess what I'm trying to say is they're different strokes to the same vibe - different brushes to the same style... They kind of complement each other for a complete and satisfying virtual D&D experience.
The first Splitgate was Halo Meets Portal. It had the movement and weapons of Halo with Portal Mechanics in an Arena shooter. Honestly felt more like Halo MP than Halo 4 and 5 did. Lots of fun if you enjoy the Halo Mulitplayer style.
I loved Splitgate when it came out, it was one of my favorite pandemic games lol. Hopefully they keep the feel of it true to the original in this reboot.
Kamiya's back with Capcom, leading a resurrected Clover Studio, and their first project is giving us a new OKAMI?! Add to that Onimusha, Turok, a new Virtua Fighter... - it's like I've stepped through a portal back to my middle school years. Man, what a showcase of franchise revivals.
I just hope all these titles live up to their originals, rather then studios just using them to nostalgia bait us all after delivering repeated mediocre titles and losing trust with the audience.
The teaser ends with "CAPCOM - and Game Director Hideki Kamiya". That's a pretty strong confirmation, which was followed by Keighley gushing about it and revealing the studio name 'CLOVERS'.
Out of this lot, I am by far and away the most excited for the Witcher 4. Really cool to see the Witcher Ciri ending effectively canonised, as well as the mystery of how she could've underwent the trial of the grasses. I hope in the Witcher 4 Ciri starts out doing a version of the Trials at the new Witcher School 🤞 before going on the Path. Could be a cool Prologue / Tutorial.
As someone who has played through Solasta and all of its DLC numerous times and was just starting to get into the community Campaigns, Excited does not even begin to descsribe how I feel about Solasta 2!!!!
That Solasta 2 trailer was definitely bursting with personality. I enjoyed the tactical gameplay of the original game, but I can *barely* remember the main story beats. Here's hoping they either find a way to make the party dialogue system have more personality, or drop it in favor of a 'main character/companions' structure that works so well for games like BioWare games and such. I liked the party dialogue concept, but the execution left a lot of room for improvement. But, of all the trailers they showed, Solasta 2 definitely has my attention more than the rest.
Mort! You should lay Mafia1 remake. Narratively it is my favourite mafia game, for te remake made a wonderful job updating the original, and removing a lot of narrative jank while mostly preserving what made the original great.
Of the trailers you didn't mention I really liked the one for Dispatch. I think it looks fun and I really enjoyed some of the TellTale games back in the day

I really hope From Software bring back the Otogi games. Would love to see reimaginings of them. Also, Steel Hunters looks like ZOIDS, and I really want to play it. Also also, Split Gate has been out for a while, I thought? Haven't played it, but I know it topped Steam for a bit.
The ones that interested me the most were Mafia The Old Country and Intergalactic! Really digging that Cowboy Bebop aesthetics for the latter, one of my favourite ships I've built in Starfield was based on the Swordfish. The product placement was a bit weird, but I loved that it is being scored by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Oh, and you should definitely play Mafia 1 and 2 especially if you enjoyed 3. The story in those first two games is really, really good!
Some very good announcements, and man, February was already packed with major hitters but now we got Rebirth sneaking into the end of January. I won't have enough hours in the day for all the games coming out early next year.
While the announcement was odd, ultimately ER Nightreign is just a roguelike take on ER, playable either solo or coop, with extra movement options and an overall faster pace. Witcher 4 also looks sick but I'm less hyped because no release date. Also excited for The Outer Worlds 2 and maybe a little for BL4, although I'm a bit worried because the writing wasn't great in 3, and the movie was bad.
new Okami and Onimusha is making me emotional lol. Wtf is the new ER content? looks like coop boss rushing? Hyped for Witcher 4 as well, but Ciri looks weird. And finally FF7R for PC, and so soon.
What is the point of making your own Witcher? CD Projekt Red is just gonna force an established personality on us anyway like they did with V. Don't get me wrong, I love Cyberpunk but I wish it was more of a roleplaying game.
Regarding the Witcher 4 I thought the trial of the grasses was effectively dead unless Geralt was the one to administer the trials to Ciri himself which I can't really see him doing... also looks like the Ciri survives and leaves with Geralt ending is canon.
IIRC Ciri became a Witcher in the books. And, we see Ciri in the video drinking a potion and using Witcher minor magic. Cat eyes, poition, Witcher magic all suggest Ciri is a Witcher.

Very curious to see your take on it - I think you'd like it very much.
Oh wow. A new Onimusha. Wish they would release 2 & 3 on PC first. Maybe this new one needs to be successful for that to happen.
The highlight was 100% Nightreign for me. I love the genre they're dipping into here and I love Elden Ring, so it's a best of both worlds.
I kinda wish we could create our own witcher. But ciri will do fine!
I think I remember that they're doing a co op Witcher game as well as remastering the first. So maybe in the co op game we can make our own Witcher!
For me, Solasta 2 and The Witcher 4.
IIRC Ciri became a Witcher in the books. And, we see Ciri in the video drinking a potion and using Witcher minor magic. Cat eyes, poition, Witcher magic all suggest Ciri is a Witcher.
Looking forward to Solasta 2 the most. ⚔🍻
