I got to say, the EQS is an odd beast, but has grown on me. From certain angles, the car looks ugly and other angles, it looks like a thing of beauty. On top of that, the car doesn't look THAT big on the outside, but the inside and the cargo space is nice and spacious. The only thing that really threw me off was the way the brakes behaved. I guess with Mercedes (and I'm not sure how many other cars do this), but if you're on an incline and you come to a stop, when you release the brake, it stays depressed for a second before it lets go. It was explained to me by the dealer that it prevents the car rolling back. Then on another intersection, I inadvertently triggered the brake hold. Once I understood what those features were, it wasn't so bad. The car is smooth and quiet. You get something between E to S class luxury with a Model S level of efficiency. Right now this car is the only one of only two models in the US that challenge Tesla on the range (the other being the Lucid Air)

I think it Mercedes made the exterior a bit more attractive, it would be a knockout for its price range. However, its understandable that form follows function in their design as they wanted the lowest coefficient of drag. I'm quite excited for the Mercedes future, they have the Vison EQXX, a shift to online ordering/buying, and a focus on luxury by cutting out the entry level models. In a couple years, I'm excited to see all the electric offerings from all brands.

Great looking car... Good presentation! The driver lane assist distronic extended restart in stop and go traffic (auto pilot) is better than Tesla in some ways... Very impressed so far. Yes, I own one of these.... and traded my Model 3 performance for it... And it even came with a steering wheel!

Appreciate it! I was going to suggest our in-depth look at the car but since you have one you probably know it yourself! What made you trade the model 3 for the eqs? Seems they are in completely different ends of the EV market. Lol on the steering wheel part.

@@TheF90Crew I wanted a slightly bigger car with better range... So I ordered a new model S LR. The S arrived, but I just couldn't pull the trigger on it because of the dumb yoke and blacked out trim and wheels... Then I stumbled upon the EQS... This is what the new model s should have been... luxury, class, build quality, regal, comfortable with brick and mortar dealers in every town...

@@jdmoney1000 Ah I see. I do think the model S as a model should have a redesign pretty soon. The dealer network is another thing all together. I am curious to see how the EVs from non Tesla brands will hold up, without a typical drivetrain, time will tell. The 8 to 10 year battery warranty does sound very good. With no sales tax (I believe this includes used EVs as well) there will be some good buys in the future.
