Not my taste, I wish some garden landscaper can just think about recycle and repurpose, and work with what you already have available. Those plants in the pots could have been included in the design.
He over did it with the huge lumber in that small space. It looks like a fence to keep out charging buffalo. Personally, I'd be very upset to lose that much living space. He's only left a postage stamp sized area to enjoy the new garden. I just don't see the logic there. He also took out the pavers to the gate. If that gets much usage then it'll look terrible soon.
I agree with some parts of what you said but although he made out there was only that tiny space for a garden I think it was just part of the actual garden and just a courtyard at the side of the house because he kept going through the gate onto the drive. Also the courtyard was off a bedroom which would be unusual I would have thought if it was the only garden space? Having said all of that it looked like he had transported the Simson desert into a suburb.
Oh no, this is all wrong. I live in a hot dry part of Australia and this is the last type of thing we plant. That courtyard just feels hotter now. We plant flowers, agave and colourful succulents, and create real shade. That structure does nothing. An oasis of tropical plants on well developed, mulched beds under shade and with a drip watering system works, even in drought and gives respite from the sun and heat. You totally missed the mark.
I've been trying to give Charlie the benefit of the doubt but I don't enjoy his design style and his personality is a bit dampening. Just had to go google what happened to Jason and I'm sad to read that he was let go. I wish Charlie well and hope he grows his audience but it's a no for me.
I thought he said land was scarce and then he proceeded to make more unusable space. Nice 'concept garden' for a television show but not practical for normies.
interesting idea, but now it looks like a giant sandbox. And now the owners will traipse sand into the house every time they go into the back yard. It's a pass for me.
Hideous! Removing a nice textured low wall to replace it with a rusty couple of steel frames that will be dangerous in a year or two. Reducing the seating area to a tiny few pavers that two deckchairs can barely fit onto, with that ghastly structure and uninteresting planting... could there be ANYTHING that could make that area worse? Oh yes, the black fencing! ... BLACK! In a hot climate! Are you serious?
Love the channel but absolutely hate, hate the music selections. Too loud and obnoxious. Usually end up muting the entire thing instead - what a waste of otherwise perfectly enjoyable video experience.
Interesting, ultra modern and a restful pallet. Amazing. The shade structure is a piece of art.
Miss Jason's work. It's always well designed and fun to watch.
That design was spot on. Absolutely love it. Well done.
Beautiful and Rugged. love the grasses!
Nice looking garden perfect for Arizona’s weather!!!…😊👍
Beautiful! I like your designs, Charlie! Nice.

I love it!!!…We pay a lot of many in USA for that kind of shade it’s fancy!!!…😊👍❤️
very good 🤩🇧🇷👋🏼👋🏼
Some colour would've been nice and some mature plants to fill a lot of spaces

This is horrible, it just looks so tiny and harsh and hard on the eyes. Looks like a dust storm waiting to happen.

Too banal for me and no real shade. Where is Jason? Sorry, Charlie.
didn't like the make over... i like Jason, and the other gang better
Please tell me Jason hasn't left 😔

It’s a no from me - shocking
Nope! Don't like it!! It looks like a dead town wild plants.
It's better but too much cactus.
Very unhappy with this design. It is an unacceptable outcome. This is a very disappointing use of space. I expect more than this from this channel 🤢
