Long time Cudi fan, but when I heard Rose Golden, it just came at the right time. I was in a deadass job, hours away from family and friends, GF just left.
I was driving around the town late at night and his new album dropped. When it came on man I cried. A month later I decided to move to the bigger city, study and now years later everything is much, much better.
Sometimes you just need a voice, a sign or a feeling to give you that push. Cudi is the current that carried me to a better place.

Fr. Bought tickets to see him last minute at his last show in philly. Best money I’ve thrown on a show and I was in the freaking rafters. Helped that 070 came out and sang Ghost Town and made me cry before he even stepped out, but the vibe was immaculate. Best concert I’ve been to and it was the least I’ve spent on a ticket.

Fun fact: Kanye credits Kid Cudi for 808 and Heartbreak. He heard A Kid Named Cudi and loved it, surprised Cudi with a phone call. and flew him out to Hawaii to help him make the album. He cowrote a 4 songs on the album, Kanye said his writing was just so pure and natural that it was important for him to portray that that he cared more about getting that point across than how well the album would do. Kid Cudi changed the rap genre for the better and inspired many of today's artists. He's so underrated and underappreciated by listeners.

To this day, I still do not believe Kid Cudi gets all the credit he truly deserves for what he's done for the music industry. This man took Hip-Hop and molded it into his own unique style that influenced so many different artists and producers for years to come. Ill never forget when I downloaded "A Kid Named Cudi" mixtape by Plain Pat for the first time on my IPOD which was released right before he added most of the songs to this first studio album. I hung out with all my friends after school at their house for 4 days straight with that mixtape on repeat nonstop. Cudi is A Legend. Thank you guys for your reactions and input!

Online you’ll find entire threads devoted to his best humming for therapy, and remember seeing a study on him and other musicians regarding their singing and it’s effects on the brain. Will link here if I find it again, but definitely feel his voice giving me the shivers, even now listening to cut clips despite growing up on the music.

There's junk that tastes good without much substance, and good stuff that nourishes. A lot of radio hip-hop is like a burger with fries. Rightly or wrongly, it's what a lot of people use to form their view of the entire genre. Your son is feeding you the best of the best. You're lucky to have each other. :)

This is my first time seeing this channel, it has been in my recommended a couple times. I know nothing about the father(not even his name) but I can tell he has a ton of knowledge in music theory. I love how open and appreciative he is to new music outside of his taste. It warms my heart honestly, my father passed away 3 years ago when I was 17, and seeing a bond and just a simple conversation you two remind me of great memories I have with my father. He grew up in the psychedelic rock age. I feel like he would've enjoyed the feeling of MOTM. This is a great channel and dynamic between you two!

This album brings back so many memories and this video just made me happy af.
Love how in depth his dad gets when talking about the album.
One of the most influential albums of all time, absolutely timeless.

I love how much he loved intergalactic. Its because it uses sounds he knows. I think he would love daft punk random access memories. Talk about funk.

It’s such an amazing album. I used to work at a local pizza shop. We had a big New Year’s Eve party with tickets and everything and at midnight we played this album front to back. Everyone was drunk and just having the best time. I’ll never forget that!

As someone who's struggled with an emotionally cut off father who was 40 when I was born, I can't tell you how special this was to watch. I was tearing up through most of it. It just gave me hope for the first time in years that maybe I could connect with him in the same way. Through one of my favorite albums like this so he could see into my world a little better.
And I know for a fact this sentiment is shared by tons of others who have discovered your channel too. Great stuff guys this is some of the most powerful content I've seen on UA-cam.

my dad was also 40 when I was born. It’s definitely not as easy to relate and connect with them when there is such a huge generational difference between the two of you.

Hey, maybe some day you’ll be able to have a relationship like this with your son! At least that’s what I am aiming for, since my father died when I was a baby

Man, this album was probably the main album that I associate with my adolescence. Cudi's music helped me through some difficult times and thankfully, he's still putting out amazing music that continues to help me today. Loved reliving my memories of these songs while you both gave your perspectives. You have a great Dad, Connor and Dad, you have a great son. Keep up the good work guys.

I’m 35…this album came out when I was 23. It got me through the hardest time in my life by a long shot. My mother had just passed away, I had moved to another country, and was hopelessly caught up in my addictions. Thankful to have had it in my life at the time and not sure what woulda happened if I didn’t. I really wish I could of listened to this album with my mom…she would of loved it

Seeing all these stories from other fans brings a tear to my eye, man. I wonder if Scott realizes how many people his music has touched and how many lives it's saved. It's a shame we likely won't get any more music from him. You could probably fill a library with the stories people have of how his music was there for them when nobody else was. I feel incredibly lucky to be living in a time where we get to have his art in our lives.

this had me tear up at times. cudi is a beautiful artist that brings me to very nostalgic highs and even lows. there was no better album to introduce your dad to his music with. i wish in some ways i could share this sort of moment with my pops and like your dad said, open up a part of myself to him. congrats on the success, keep it up
